Vocation & Financial Guidance
What we spend our time doing with ourselves is such an important part of our lives. Jyotish is a great help at knowing not only what types of activities we are good at, but which ones will be fulfilling for us. Some people are concerned about this activity as a “career”, and for practical purposes, how it can contribute to their finances. Others are more interested in finding a fulfilling “vocation”, and are not too concerned about the money-making aspects of it. (For simplicity in this article, I will use the term “career” to mean career or vocation.) Some are pretty content with their current career and just want to know when they will have more ease or success with it, or if it would be better to slightly modify it in some way. Jyotish reveals all this and more.
First, your natal chart shows your personality – what types of things turn you on and motivate you, how you like to take action, whether you’re an introvert or extrovert, whether you’re a leader or a follower, etc. It shows whether you operate primarily mentally, emotionally, or are imaginatively inspired. It shows your natural skills, some of which you may not even be aware, and in which area of life they will likely be expressed. All of these aspects of your personality form an important basis for what type of career you would be inclined toward and good at. Secondly, your natal chart shows life circumstances in general, such as responsibilities and commitments, which would necessarily influence what type of career would be practical for you.
But it doesn’t stop there. There are also specific career- related indicators, not only in your natal chart but in some other special charts as well. They show in what areas you will primarily interact with and contribute to the world at large, and in which area you will not only be ABLE to take action, but will be FULFILLED doing so. Some of the categories, which of course often overlap, would be intellectual/scientific, counseling/healing, creative/artistic, financial/economic, manual/mechanical, buying/selling, and leadership/political/military. But even these categories don’t do it justice, since Jyotish can show much, much more detail in this regard. For example, Jyotish would not simply show a writer, but what kind of writing, such as news reporting, magazine articles, screenplays, novels, or even writing as an adjunct to another endeavor such as school or public relations. It can show whether the writing would be serious or light-hearted, fiction or non-fiction, and can even indicate certain subject matters. Along with that, it would show whether the writing is carried on in solitude or in conjunction with some type of group. It can be downright uncanny how precisely these details often match someone’s career or what they would like to do.
Many of us have multiple careers, and Jyotish has a unique system of “dashas”, or planetary periods, that powerfully reveals WHEN circumstances will ripen for certain types of careers to come to the fore. Even if you’re a one-career person, it shows when you will meet with the most success and fulfillment, or on the other hand, with obstacles or lay-offs. It shows how you might tweak the direction of your career for better results. And to top it all off, there are specific financial indicators that can be used in conjunction with the career information in order to find out which career may be the most lucrative, and when. It even shows if and when you can expect income from sources other than career, such as investments, sale of real estate, insurance payoffs, inheritances, or a partner.
Jyotish reliably provides great insight and guidance to those who are looking to do “something else”, but don’t quite know what that is yet! I am constantly amazed at how many people respond with “Oh, I’ve always WANTED to do that!”, or “I always ENJOYED doing that, but instead I …” Jyotish provides that extra validation and confidence to make it a reality.
