You Are the Placebo: Making Your Mind Matter by Dr. Joe DispenzaYou Are the Placebo: Making Your Mind Matter by Dr. Joe Dispenza is an excellent book!

And please don’t be misled by the title term “placebo”. This book is much more broad than how we often think of a placebo, i.e. in a medical/health-related context.

It addresses any and all situations you may encounter. Yes, anything! The book’s clever subtitle “Making Your Mind Matter” might even be a better title, as it’s all about consciousness as your mind being made into matter.

Corresponding to the division of its 2 sections, it’s both informative and transformative, with impressive substance on both counts.

Informative

The first section (including the author’s own story, which is just amazing) contains in-depth yet very well written (i.e. interesting and easy to understand) explanations of his concepts; both what they are and why they work.

It’s extremely well researched, includes helpful diagrams, and is one of the best books I’ve seen on the subject of working at the most subtle levels of consciousness to powerfully effect change in the physical world.

I especially liked his chapter “The Quantum Mind”. So often this type of information gets garbled or too complex upon explanation, but he does a beautiful job of describing the concepts, especially the ones that are relevant to his simple yet concentrated suggestion for applying the ideas.

He also does an excellent job of presenting all his ideas and experiences in a factual, believable manner. I so appreciate that it’s not presented as some fringe or New Age idea that many would disregard even before investigating, but rather as the proven yet leading edge idea that it actually is. I’m personally eager for mainstream to get with it, and I think this book will be a great help toward that end.

Transformative

The 2nd section is how to apply it.

It’s a concise but powerful part of what he offers, in that it first prepares you for a guided “meditation” process which he then proceeds to provide word for word. I so appreciate that!

From the verbatim text he gives you, you can read it or record your own audio and immediately begin to practice it yourself. (You can purchase audio CDs of the meditations, but I went to his website and instantly downloaded an MP3 version. So much easier than creating it myself and well worth the reasonable price.)

For anyone familiar with what I call “Quantum Consciousness” technology (for lack of a standard term), this book will add a lot to both your understanding and practice. There are many ways to effectively practice QC, and this book adds elements that I hadn’t thought of as integral to the practice. However, I’ve been using his meditation for several weeks now and find that although these elements may not be absolutely necessary, they do make it much more reliably powerful. I’m fully on-board with his suggestions for the time being.

One concept of QC that he repeatedly emphasizes is that your future doesn’t need to be your past, so when your old patterns shift, you’re beginning anew. You’re not even having to heal anything, you’re just letting that past go and literally beginning anew in the moment. He expertly guides you to explicitly let it go and open to a brand new future of your choosing.

My own ongoing sense with QC (including the method presented here) is that you are not so much fixing something, but actually replacing an old pattern of disease or disharmony with a new, more desirable pattern. And almost effortlessly!

His guided meditation is also very useful in helping you maneuver more deliberately and skillfully between pure consciousness and what you would like to manifest. I’m not sure this exact aspect is intentional but I find it fascinating and surely worth noticing.

My only quibble is that he sometimes uses the word “thought” for consciousness, and I think this can be confusing if not downright misleading. My experience is that the two are very different. (Are you familiar with Eckhart Tolle?!) Still, his explanations supersede this confusion, so I don’t consider this a big problem.

It Works!

Last but not least, I want to report that I already have first-hand experience that what he teaches here works.

And it will amaze you.

I’ve used it successfully with a few different situations in my life,  most recently with a back injury. After my first session with the back injury, I was stunned that it was significantly improved (like 80% better?), just in that one session! It was as if it had healed many days’ worth in just that one hour. I felt like a new person, and as you’ll learn, I actually was in many ways!

If I’m stunned after effectively practicing QC since 2007, you will be too. It was nothing short of phenomenal.

My husband has started using the meditation along with me for a chronic health issue he’s had, and even without reading the book he’s also noticed significant improvement.

Highly Recommended!

Get this book. Practice the suggestions he so thoughtfully packaged for you as a meditation at the end, and watch your life situation(s) improve. Spread the word and help humanity move forward. It’s time we all embrace what’s truly possible.

patternEmergence is very much about shifting patterns.

It takes advantage of the fact that whatever you experience in your life originates at much subtler levels of consciousness, in what you can think of as your Divine template.

Your Divine template is a beautiful pattern of light and information; it’s Divine intelligence, which is what you are in essence. It’s from here that the patterns you see manifesting in your life originally spring.

These patterns move from consciousness, to energy, to manifestation.

Non-Optimal Patterns

Ideally, we won’t get in the way of them unfolding exactly as they’re designed, the way a rose blossoms in its full glory, naturally and without effort.

But typically we think or act in ways that cause that perfect unfolding to change course somewhere along the way.

What Emergence does is hold that Divine template in a state of grace, to reactivate it in a sense, so that the template or pattern that is *you* can more easily emerge into what you know as your life.

It’s a beautiful and powerful process.

Tweak Your Pattern with Ease

If you’re currently struggling with trying to change some patterns that are manifesting, and you’re doing it at the level of energy or manifestation, then here’s a way you can go deeper. (And because this is a holistic process, continuing with anything else you’re doing to make effective change is perfectly fine.)

It’s easy and effective, and you’ve got nothing to lose if you give it a try!

It’s quick and painless, but don’t let its simplicity deceive you into thinking that it isn’t worth your time.

Chances are good that you will notice some improvements, and you can use it over and over for various adjustments you want to make.

Pattern-Shifting Process

Do this when you have at least 10 min. of uninterrupted time.

And enjoy the process! Don’t get all serious. Relax! :-)

1. Consider your intention.

This is a big subject but for now we’ll just set the intention that:

Your already-perfect Divine template is easily unfolding in your life.

I say “just” but this is perhaps the most powerful intention of all.

2. Get into “the state” (the Emergence state of consciousness) by accessing the field.

Be easy about it. Often this is effective even when you don’t realize you’re in the state. Allow that possibility.

3. Remind yourself of your intention, softly and gently.

My already-perfect Divine template is easily unfolding in my life.

4. Observe

Do this with all your senses, including your inner or more subtle senses. You can do this with your eyes open or closed, but in the beginning it’s easier to stay in the state when your eyes are closed.

Just notice whatever you notice.

You don’t have to “try”, just allow and note whatever comes to your attention.

5. Express gratitude that it is done.

6. See what’s different.

Do this now, and over the course of the next few hours, days, and even weeks (if you remember).

Open to and acknowledge any differences, not just the ones you might expect, anticipate or want.

If you have questions about how to do this as you’re doing it, then wing it! That’s the beauty of this process. However you see fit to do it is just perfect.

You can repeat this as often as you like. Sometimes, you’ll see such changes you won’t feel a need to. Or sometimes you’ll get the urge to do it again. Either way is fine.

We flicker in and out of existence all the time.

A few days ago I was doing a Holographic Emergence session with a client. She commented that she was feeling dizzy.

Believe it or not, this happens often, and is a good thing!

It’s one of the indications that a shift is occurring.

During Matrix Energetics seminars, it’s common for people to get wobbly or actually collapse while we’re doing practices with each other.

Which is why I have my clients sit or lie down when I’m not there with them in person (i.e. a phone session). That way a wobble or collapse becomes merely a sense of dizziness or some similarly innocuous sense of disorientation. :-)

Let’s Look with Quantum Eyes

I can’t pretend to know for sure what’s going on but this quote from Deepak Chopra’s fascinating book The Spontaneous Fulfillment of Desire is a good starting point (my emphasis via bolding):

So it is only in our consciousness that our limited senses create a solid world out of pure energy and information.

But what if we could see into the quantum domain — if we had “quantum eyes”?

In the quantum domain, we would see that everything we think of as solid in the physical world is actually flickering in and out of an infinite void at the speed of light.

Just like the frame-and-gap sequence of a motion picture, the universe is an on-off phenomenon.

The continuity and solidity of the world exists only in the imagination, fed by senses that cannot discern the waves of energy and information that make up the quantum level of existence.

In reality, we are all flickering in and out of existence all the time. If we could fine-tune our senses, we could actually see the gaps in our existence. We are here, and then not here, and then here again. The sense of continuity is held only by our memories.

Don’t you love that?! Isn’t it wild?!

The cool thing about Emergence is that we are working from that “void” between the flickers. We take advantage of these quantum principles.

So as things shift, when you blink back into existence, you’re enough different than you were before that you can experience it as an odd sense of disorientation.

The reason you blink back slightly differently than you would otherwise is because with Emergence we adjust the patterns of light and information which inform you as a particular manifestation.

At least this explanation makes a lot of sense to me.

The Power of Now

So think about that for a minute.

That means that your existence in any given moment is separated (in an important sense) from your existence in the “next moment” (as you perceive it).

It’s very related to BEing just in this one moment. (Which is essentially the “state of magic and miracles” which I enter when I do a session.)

That also means that right now, you can experience yourself independent of any past or future if you want to. As if there is no past nor future, just now. (I have to laugh when I say “just” now, because there’s no “just” about it! The now is eternal, everlasting, with no beginning or end. Have you ever found an end to now?)

Here and Now Exercise

Here’s something I like to do now and then and it’s really rather freeing.

It can also help you begin to be aware of (and then break out of) some of your unconscious assumptions.

Now, let’s see if I can describe it well enough for you to do it …

  1. Close your eyes. (Okay okay, you can read the next steps first, tee hee.)
  2. Experience yourself right here, right now, and that’s it. You are not involved in an activity, experiencing a certain mood, in a certain place or anything. You’re just here, right now, and only this instant exists. Can you get that sense?
  3. Realize that no particular “next moment” is inevitable. There is nothing else attached to here and now.

Notice, too, how conditions or even situations can not exist in this moment because by definition they both require continuity.

Feel the freedom and possibility in that!

So tell me: Did that exercise take you to an unusual sense of this moment’s context and/or a different understanding of your place in a “timeline”? (If not, then maybe I didn’t explain it well enough. Let me know in the comments, please!)

The Pure Potential of Now

So without even getting into how Emergence actually plays in that void between flickers to influence what will emerge in that “next” moment, at least appreciate that what does emerge isn’t a given.

There is an infinite number of possibilities. There really is!

We are so used to just expecting the next moment to be like the last that it usually is.

Do you ever notice certain patterns in your life, where something annoying — or even seriously effed up — just keeps happening but you have no idea why?

Well, it’s likely related to your underlying belief patterns.

Really? you say. How does that make sense?

Or better yet, Right! So how do I find those buggers and “fix” them?

Well, here’s something that’s worked for me and is a powerful agent for change.

Over the weekend I started reading an interesting little book called This Thing Called You by Ernest Holmes.

In it, he quotes Jesus as having said:

“It is done unto you as you believe.”

And as I considered this, I found myself thinking about how a belief is a type of pattern in the “emergence” sense. (Emergence is my form of consciousness technology.)

From Consciousness to Manifestation

A pattern in consciousness will unfold in your life.

When I/we do a Holographic Emergence™ session, we often see and work with these patterns.

They may show up as an archetype or as something more abstract or completely unrecognizable. There may be one or several.

During a session, there’s no need to be consciously aware of all the details of a pattern nor of its logical connection to your life.

We can make effective change regardless.

But here’s a powerful way to modify your own patterns even without doing an Emergence session.

Belief Patterns

A belief is a type of pattern.

Anything you think you know is a belief.

Likewise, groups of related beliefs form larger patterns. And so do sets of beliefs that are formed by drawing multiple conclusions from one existing belief.

Shine a Light on Your Belief Patterns

Here is a way to empower yourself using the light of awareness.

1. Examine what it is you think you know. (Just one thing for the sake of this exercise.)

2. Then see if it’s positive or negative. Is it something that makes you feel good? Is it something you want to see manifesting in your life? Because if you believe it, it will.

If it feels bad or you don’t want to see it manifest in your life for any reason, make a note of it.

Know that you don’t have to be at its mercy.

You can also do this exercise the other way around.

1. Think about if there is some area of your life where you have frequent or ongoing issues.

2. Then consider what your beliefs are in relation to that area. (And it helps here to list beliefs that even might be related.)

Probably you’ll find that you do, indeed, have some related beliefs lurking around that are somehow limiting or otherwise problematic.

Again, make a note of it and know that you don’t have to be at its mercy.

What this does is bring some of your unconscious beliefs to light. Not all of them, but those that are lurking around in the nearby shadows.

So now you are aware of one or more patterns in your consciousness.

This is important because as long as they’re in your consciousness, they’re in your energy field, and because of that they continue to manifest in your life.

Yes, as self-fulfilling prophecies.

Empower Yourself with Deliberate Choice

Awareness alone is helpful, because it brings your pattens out to the light of day for you to examine.

But as good as that is, followup with a deliberate choice is even better.

You can choose to let any unhelpful beliefs fall away. It’s not always easy, but it’s worth the effort.

We usually think we know something because it’s been proven to us somehow. Either we’ve seen and experienced it, or someone we consider reliable or an authority swears by it.

But you can decide to open to other possibilities!

Maybe your belief is true sometimes but not always. Maybe things have changed or are changing. Maybe a new factor is about to come into play that changes things. Maybe just about anything!

Stay alert to the appearance of thoughts that are related to those beliefs. When they come up, remind yourself that there are other possibilities and that you’ve made a choice to let them go. And then put your attention elsewhere.

See if you can allow yourself to start fresh. Right now.

The Now stands on its own. The past does not exist. You create your apparent future.

You might as well do it as consciously as possible.

Choose anew.
