Frozen Shoulder - Healed!Welcome to the 2nd article in my new series about the Open State.

(Click here for the first article which introduces the series and covers why the heck you should even care about the Open State.)

★   ★   ★

I want to start with something kind of fun and amazing!

I’m going to show with an example why you want to care about this.

It involves a complete healing of my frozen shoulder.

I’m also including the audio from a private session I did on myself.

So you’ll not only see the usefulness of the Open State, but also open your mind to what’s possible, a super-helpful frame of mind to be in to really make use of the Open State.

If you haven’t been reading along up until now, you might enjoy perusing my last set of articles about the value and importance of an open mind.

It really is a prerequisite for making use of the Open State — at least when it comes to facilitating magic and miracles! (And who wouldn’t want to do that?)

If you can’t believe in *magical* possibilities, you’re not as likely to manifest them.
Open to the Possibilities and Emerge!

Can you let go of what you think you know and open your mind wide to all the possibilities?
Let Magic Be Your New Normal

This is about the dance between and open mind and the Open State, and how they both enhance each other.
Dance Your Way to an Expanded Reality

And here are some of my favorite books that can help immensely.
10 Books to Blow Your Mind Wide Open

Wow, You Really Healed Your Frozen Shoulder?

Actually … no.

Note I don’t say that “I” healed my shoulder. I simply accessed “The Field” (by entering the Open State) and let it do the rest.

Here’s the background.

Awhile back, I’d developed what’s known as a “frozen shoulder”, although I didn’t think about it that way. (Richard Bartlett says when we hook into a diagnosis, it’s like a curse. Think about it. You sort of set it in stone as your reality.)

I could barely lift it to be parallel to the ground, and for awhile, not even that. This was as good as it got, even after numerous intensive treatments by professionals. They had essentially given up on any significant improvement without expensive, ongoing physical therapy or surgery.

So that sets the stage, in a nutshell.

How the Healing Unfolded

Since I’ve already written about my healing process as it occurred, I’m listing the articles that contain the details.

Together these articles reveal the key to how it finally healed 100% using the Open State. (Search each one for “shoulder” to see what was going on at the time.)

They also have useful information and exercises you can apply right now.

This first might be outside your comfort zone about what our bodies even are, but it’s one of my very favorite posts. Even I still refer to it from time to time. 😉 Open your mind to the idea that our bodies may not be a “solid” thing. It has lots of great quotes by Deepak Chopra.
Your Magical Mind, Magical Body

Here’s a holistic view of what was going on with my shoulder. I took advantage of some amazing signs, synchronicities, and even a channeled message. They all played a part in some powerful guidance that helped get me on a healing track.
Does Your Guidance Have to Scream to Get Your Attention?

In this post I only mention it along with other things I’ve used Emergence for. I’m including it because you can see where the Open State fits into the entire Emergence process which is nicely summarized. (Pay attention to the section ”The Field” which is where I talk about “the state” which is what I now call the Open State. Toward the end is a link to a popular post that guides you into the Open State.
Activate Magic and Miracles With Me!

Here’s one where I use the “Magic Mirror” tool (suggested by my channeling guide) with much success — in fact my shoulder completed its healing as a result of this work, I’m sure of it. This post also tells exactly how you can do this too.
Heal Your Paired Body Part :: The Magic Mirror Tool

A Private Healing Session

And now … I’m sharing an audio with you of one of my private sessions with myself so you can get a feel for what transpires.

It was one of just a few sessions with my shoulder.

At that point, I could only lift my left arm about 45-90 degrees (so at best just parallel to the floor).

I was guided to stand in front of the mirror and do a session on “that person in the mirror” (oui, c’est moi!) as if for someone else.

You’ll hear me mention a two-point which is a Matrix Energetics technique.

I also have what I call “healing burps”. These started when I learned to channel and are indications that things are being processed and are shifting/healing.

Also, at one point (maybe two) you’ll hear me get suddenly emotional. That’s not uncommon and again, just shows that things are moving.

Patti does an Emergence session on her shoulder (Audio – 16 min.)
Listen below, or click here if you’re reading this in email.

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

In the audio, I refer to two books. Just FYI,

• When I talk about giving to the universe vs. taking — and using the mirror as part of an exercise for that — I’m referring to something I learned from The Presence Process by Michael Brown. It’s an excellent book that walks you through a powerful process.

• And then, I mention a book that my eyes fall upon during the session. It’s Byron Katie’s A Thousand Names for Joy, and one of my all-time favorites.

So … I hope the combination of reviewing the story of my healed – yes, healed! – shoulder along with listening to the session itself has opened your eyes to:

1. What’s possible, and

2. How the Open State (which is the foundation for Holographic Emergence™) is super useful!

Until next time … Namasté,

Patti

Eufeeling!Dr. Frank J. Kinslow has written a magnificent book called Eufeeling! The Art of Creating Inner Peace and Outer Prosperity. It’s about how you can use what he calls “Eufeeling” to enhance your life and your experience of life, no matter what your life situation.

As the subtitle states, it’s a way to create both inner peace and outer prosperity.

What You’ll Learn

The process hinges around being able to experience Eufeeling, a calm state of presence, and much of the focus is on teaching you how to do that. It’s a simple process, explained very well, and all you need to do is try it out and — most likely — to practice it.

If you will commit to practicing Eufeeling in your daily life, then this, in itself, will help you love your life, no matter what that consists of.

Life is not about trying to see things in a positive light. Life is the positive light.

~ Eufeeling!

But you also learn how to apply Eufeeling to particular applications or intentions. There’s a lot of excellent instruction about intention and what that means in this context. If you already practice some form of intention work, you may be surprised at Dr. Kinslow’s suggestions. Exactly how you place intention is an important aspect of the process and this was one of my favorite sections.

… We tenderly open our awareness to our [intention] and then watch as it gently kisses the surface of Pure Eufeeling. This is the magical moment, the flawless conception, when all of creation awakens to your desire.

~ Eufeeling!

Is that a breath-takingly beautiful quote, or what?!

The book then goes on to show you how to use it for specific applications, and not only for yourself, but for others. In particular, it covers emotional states, chronic illness, material wealth, and general problem solving.

He closes by beautifully elaborating on how and why our practicing such an art helps humanity in general. I agree with him that it’s important, meaningful work and also that time is of the essence.

Enjoyable and Rewarding

I was happy to see that this book is very well written. As a former engineer (software), I very much appreciate this type of top-down approach, first giving us context, and then getting into detail.

The book is also well-ordered, starting with the basic concepts (which he makes it a point to clearly define — very helpful), methodically building on them, and culminating with how to apply all that you’ve learned. There are exercises throughout so you are adept at each foundational step before you move on to applications that rely on them.

Dr. Kinslow is a master of analogy and metaphor. He has an impressive ability to make esoteric concepts easily accessible. I also appreciated his down-to-earth sense of humor that ran through the text like a luminous thread.

All-in-all, his engaging style makes for enjoyable and satisfying reading.

Yes, It Works!

As to the usefulness of what he teaches here: My experience is that it works!

I see this as a form of “consciousness technology” with similarities to Matrix Energetics as well as my own adapted process called Holographic Emergence™. The “philosophy” (i.e. understanding, art, and science) behind it is very similar to what I’ve been doing since 2007, so of course I personally took to it like a duck to water.

Also included, in an appendix, is concise instruction on using his “Quantum Entrainment Triangulation Technique”, the essence of one of his other books (so a great bonus). It’s quick and easy and very similar to the Two-Point as taught in Matrix Energetics, and I’ve especially been enjoying playing with this.

For someone already familiar with consciousness technologies, it will expand and enhance your practice. At the same time, he explains it all so beautifully that even a novice could pick it up immediately and see some remarkable results.

I did a lot of his exercises, applying them to real issues in my life, and I did see results. I’m still experimenting with it for all kinds of things, and it’s more than satisfying … it’s fun!

Eufeeling! is Highly Recommended

I loved this book, and I highly recommend it. I honestly think everyone in the world could benefit from it and should read and practice it now! 😉

If you play with these ideas and exercises like he suggests, I know you’ll be amazed. (And if you do, I’d love for you to leave a comment and let me know how it was for you!)

Stay Tuned for More

Unfortunately, I can’t say as much as I’d like in one short review. Stay tuned for more posts about this process with a lot more detail, beginning with how it compares with my process of Holographic Emergence™ (and perhaps with Matrix Energetics).

I’ll also share more about my experience with it, including how I applied it and what results I noticed.

Dying To Be Me: My Journey from Cancer, to Near Death, to True HealingDying To Be Me by Anita Moorjani is one of my favorite books of all time, and believe me, I’ve read a lot of books.

There is so much more value here than you might expect from a book about a near-death experience (NDE). You will find it not only comforting with regard to death (your own or those you love) but it’s an affirmation of life, and inspiring in general.

Just as important, you’ll find it helpful in many practical ways.

Is This Book for You?

You can benefit from this book if:

  • You or someone you know is facing death
  • You’re grieving the death of a loved one, including a pet
  • You’re facing illness of any kind, serious or otherwise
  • You’re experiencing challenging emotions such as depression or lack of interest in life
  • You want to feel more whole, healthy, and vibrant
  • You simply want to feel better in general … happier, more at peace, more purposeful, etc.
  • You would like an enlightened way to understand or experience life and your place in it

As you can see, I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone. And it’s a book that I envision myself reviewing periodically for my own benefit.

How It Unfolds

Anita begins by setting the stage with a brief biography of relevant parts of her life. She describes the experience of becoming incapacitated with terminal cancer, and I love that she describes its unfolding not only on the outside but from “the inside” as well.

But fairly quickly, she jumps right into the NDE. This is the part I want everyone to read who has ever lost anyone to death, or is facing it themselves. The way she describes it is breath-taking and eye-opening. It’s beautiful, actually, and you’ll never forget it.

And just as extraordinary is the explanation of how she then “came back” and proceeded to completely heal. Yes, completely! And how she learned to allow for this “unfolding of miracles” as she puts it.

Life Even Through Death

So it’s not just a book about death and what happens at that moment.

It’s even more a book about life; about who and what you are; about healing and wholeness … and about allowing your whole world to transform.

It’s fascinating to read how you — as your essence — live even through death. And much more freely than you probably are now!

So what does that mean?

How can you live with that same freedom even as you live your life?

Insights and Practices

In her quest to help others through her experience, she shares her thoughts about how you can apply what she’s come to know.

From her expanded understanding of reality, she shares in a way that you can apply in everyday life:

  • Why she got sick and how she healed
  • How to connect with the soul of your magnificence
  • Experiencing profound freedom in your life
  • Trusting the wisdom of the infinite self
  • What it means to Be (allow) vs. Do — and thus experience vast inner peace and a beautiful flow in your life

You’ve really got to read it yourself since there’s so much more to it than I could even put words to; pretty apropos given its expansive nature.

And I’m sure you’ll find your own gems within it, probably new and different insights and practices each time you read it, depending on your perspectives at that time.

It’s got a richness and depth to it that I enjoy applying and know I will for years to come.

Also Recommended …

Soon after reading the book, I came upon her audio Deep Meditation for Healing. Just like the book, I love it. Anita does a beautiful job of taking you into a relaxed, receptive state and reminding you of your magnificence, freedom, and power. You’ll actually feel it and come away more whole and with a new perspective.

It doesn’t replace the book, but it’s an awesome adjunct to it, or it could even stand on its own.

Disclaimer: I received this book for free from Hay House Publishing for review purposes, and true to form, they encourage complete honesty in our reviews. Still — no matter what — you can always rest assured that any reviews on this site reflect my honest evaluation.

Until next time, thanks for reading!

Patti

Believing that something can heal, or even that it might be possible, is often one of the first steps to healing it.

But sometimes, try as we might, really believing it can heal is hard, if not impossible.

Here’s a really fun way around that.

It’s a new way to apply my Emergence process that I stumbled upon a few months ago, and the best part is that it works like a charm — and even for serious issues.

A Desperate Need to Heal

I’d been having serious problems with my left shoulder for about 5 months.

It had gotten progressively more rigid, to the point where it was almost unusable. Simple but important tasks like getting dressed and fixing my hair were actually challenging. Worse, there were a lot of other activities I wanted or even needed to do that were simply impossible.

I’d gone to myofacial release therapy for awhile, but after several months of regular (and painful) treatments, I still could only get my arm about parallel with the ground, maybe slightly higher. The therapists were certain I needed a lot more visits.

I’d also been going to my “magic” chiropractor (plus plus). He’s an amazing holistic healer but even he was certain I’d developed calcium deposits and would never get my shoulder moving again without surgery.

So I was at a point where nothing was improving it anymore.

I decided to regroup and tune-in to my own intuition.

I got a strong sense that it was time I use my own proven “tools” on myself. Duh.

So I discontinued the expensive myofacial release, and decided my next chiropractic treatment would be my last.

Because my Holographic Emergence™ sessions are a combination of most of my skills (and certainly of the ones I most enjoy using), I decided to start there.

The Magic Mirror Tool Revealed

So I did an Emergence session which ended up including some channeling, and during it I got the message to do some mirror work.

I wasn’t sure what that meant exactly but once I was in front of the mirror I realized: If I lift my right arm (which I could do perfectly), the mirror image makes it look as though I’m lifting my left arm.

So in other words, I was able to see my “left” arm working perfectly!

It was an odd little mind-shift but I was able to momentarily “trick” myself into perceiving it that way, and even believe it to some extent.

This was pretty cool! It was super easy and it made me feel better somehow, so I repeated that simple little mind trick a few times over a few week period.

In addition, I did a few regular Emergence sessions at the mirror, using my reflection as a surrogate for me, as if I were doing them on that person in the mirror. (Surrogates are something you’ll learn more about in future articles.)

Long story short, it all worked!!

I am absolutely thrilled to say that I have recovered use of my left arm 100%. Yay!

You Can Heal Yourself

So I firmly believe that this is something you can apply when you’re having an issue with any of your “paired structures”, i.e. those symmetrical pairs of matching body parts like shoulders, hips, arms, eyes, etc.

All you have to do is this:

  1. Decide to open to the possibility that pretending can be useful, effective, and powerful.
  2. Get in front of a mirror where you can see both matching body parts.
  3. Get into “the state.
  4. Take a moment to do that little mind-shift that I described and operate your matching body part so you “see” your compromised body part work perfectly.
  5. Repeat this every now and then. Don’t stress out about it, just do it when you’re called to.

And that’s it!

Don’t dismiss the possibility that you will notice an improvement immediately.

I noticed increased range of motion that very first day.

And as time goes on, you want to watch for anything different. Anything at all.

As I tell people after a Holographic Emergence™ session, consciously acknowledge whatever new developments you notice. It may be that something that seems unrelated comes up, such as a friend recommending a new treatment, or you see something on T.V. that might be helpful, or you get a new idea about it.

None of this actually is unrelated of course. It’s all part of the holistic way that Emergence works.

And by the way, since everything’s interrelated, trying this out doesn’t mean you don’t do other things that common sense (or your doctor) suggests. Do continue with whatever you’re already doing, or if you feel you need more, do that! I continued doing my shoulder exercises (though honestly, not as regularly), treating my trigger points, taking certain supplements, being diligent about my posture, etc.

It all works together, naturally. That’s the beauty of it.

Disclaimer: Holographic Emergence™ and the information received during sessions does not replace medical treatment or diagnosis. I am not a medical practitioner and I do not diagnose, treat, prescribe, or offer medical advice. Contact your medical care-giver for all health concerns.

In my last post I talked about what Consciousness Technology is and what I see as its main element, along with some of the things it can be used for.

But just like with other subtle things, its concepts are so impossible to really put into words that sometimes you get a better idea of it if you know what it is not.

The Tao that can be told is not the eternal Tao.
~ Lao Tsu, Tao Te Ching

So let’s go ahead and flip it around for a more complete picture.

What Consciousness Technology Is Not

Of course, it’s not a lot of things, but here’s a list of some of the things you might wonder about.

It’s not energy work.

By the time something is “energy”, it’s already becoming something. It’s further along on that continuum toward material than pure consciousness is.

consciousness -> energy -> manifestation

Even though energy is very subtle, it’s more dense than that extremely subtle field of nothing — and everything … that field of pure potential that we’re concerned with.

It’s not “running energy”.

Moving or “running” energy is part of some holistic energy work modalities such as Reiki or Pranic Healing. Techniques that direct energy to different aspects of the “energy anatomy” such as meridians, chakras, your aura, your emotional body, your physical body, etc. are not what this is about.

It’s not doing something … or doing anything.

There are lots of modalities out there that are very subtle but require some type of activity, steps, or techniques. Again, not Consciousness Technology.

With Consciousness Technology, you truly are a door, not a doer.

It’s not mental or emotional processes such as visualization, Law of Attraction, etc.

Once you start visualizing and intending, you’re unavoidably limiting it, for it has no bounds nor defined form to take.

It’s not anything that takes time.

In fact, even before I do a session, I often recognize that it is already “done”. Often, clients report changes beginning to occur as soon as we’ve scheduled one.

So why schedule time for a session? I used to wonder that too. But for one thing, my Holographic Emergence™ sessions include a little more than just Consciousness Technology. And a lot of people who practice Consciousness Technologies often combine them with other modalities.

The point here is that Consciousness Technologies can have instantaneous results.

It’s not a technique.

No elaborate (or even simple) set of steps is required.

It’s something that’s always available to you and everyone.

Even though I can present ideas and offer steps, in the end they are only pointers to help guide you to discover the “technology” of consciousness for yourself.

Once you’ve discovered it, you interact with it however you see fit.

I could go on and on here so just know this:

It’s not anything that isn’t simply about just holding that space of pure potential where anything is possible. That space of magic and miracles.

But Wait!

It’s not excluding, either.

Now that I’ve told you what it’s not, in a way you can’t exclude those things because Consciousness Technology is inseparable from consciousness which is all-inclusive.

It includes all of life because everything is consciousness.

In this world before words, there is only the real — undivided, ungraspable, already present. ~ Byron Katie, A Thousand Names for Joy

What I’m saying sounds a little like a paradox but it’s not, really.

It’s just that conceptually, the essence of Consciousness Technology is predominantly about accessing pure consciousness, unmanifest.

And it’s important to approach it purely like that, for that is the foundation of how and why it works.

But we are also living in the world of manifestation, where there is duality. There is this, not that.

So it helps to get an idea of what it’s not.

But in practice, we exclude nothing. If something that I listed above “presents itself” as useful, we use it, it’s that simple.

So for example, if you’re doing a Consciousness Technology session and are guided to do Reiki, you just do it! My Holographic Emergence™ sessions often include intuitive impressions that I get due to my being in such an open, receptive state. And although people find them interesting and even helpful, they aren’t a necessary part of Consciousness Technology either.

The way I think of it and the reason it can be helpful for you to allow those things is that it is the potential beginning to manifest through you — of its own accord.

So … I hope I’ve helped clarify a bit more what this crazy new thing called Consciousness Technology is.

If it’s outside the box and a little — or a lot — unbelievable, then chances are, that’s it!

See you next time, when you’ll hear how to access “The Field“.

Have you ever wanted to meditate but find yourself conflicted because you just can’t find the time?

Even though you know that if you could find the time, your inner peace and outer productivity would improve?

Well, now you can get the benefits of meditating even if you are busy.

My friend Angela Artemis and her business partner Steven Aitchison have just created an impressive system for doing just that.

It’s called The ReAwakening Guided Meditation System.

I asked Angela if she would talk with us about it.

I wanted to know what makes this system different and how it’s customized to busy people.

Here’s the audio of our interview (it’s about 17 min. long), or you can read the written version of it below.

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

(And in an earlier post, I talked briefly about my own experience with the system as a reviewer. You can read that here.)

Enjoy!

Interview with Angela Artemis about The ReAwakening

LsB: What was your motivation for creating this course, and what makes it different than what’s already out there about meditation?

Steve and I are both long time meditators and I am a former meditation instructor so we both know the awesome benefits of meditating. It helps manage stress which leads to reducing illness and increases creativity, and productivity.

Based on all the questions we’ve both fielded from readers is that people:

  • Don’t know where to start and
  • Don’t feel they have the time to meditate.

This leads to a feeling of overwhelm (more stress!) and inaction.

That means you miss out on something so simple and easy to do that can totally transform your life for the better in every area of your life.

This system is different because we deal with the objections right up front.

We’ve created 10 easy to do daily meditations.

The longest is about 12 minutes and the rest are under 10 minutes.

You do one a day! That’s it.

When you start feeling the relaxing benefits — which you will in a very short amount of time — you can do it 2x per day.

LsB: I noticed some of your packages include bonuses. Can you tell us a little bit about them and what value they add?

There are four bonuses:

  1. The interview with best selling author Peggy McColl
  2. Interviews with the coaches
  3. Binaural beats meditations
  4. The meditation kit

Peggy McColl is an internationally recognized expert in the areas of personal development, success and manifesting. She goes into great detail to explain how to manifest all your desires. It’s a really fun and upbeat interview that will leave you inspired and motivated.

The coach interviews cover many areas of techniques for achieving success in your life from well known experts in the blogosphere. Listen to the interviews to learn the many tips and tools these coaches use with their clients to help them become more productive and prosperous.

The binaural beats meditations are short meditations designed to be watched and listened to with headphones on your computer. Just click on one and pop on your headphones to help you feel refreshed and reinvigorated throughout the day. If you work on a computer for long hours, these are for you!

The meditation kit is an enormous bonus. This kit contains brain synchronized meditations to help you break bad habits, sleep fitfully throughout the night, increase your energy, defeat addictions, and enhance your creativity.

LsB: Did you find a need for this course for busy people while you were busy creating it? 😉

Both Steven and I receive many emails from readers who say that although they want to meditate – they just don’t have the time.

It’s a vicious cycle.

The busier and more stressed your life is the more you need to meditate and we are no exception. Many times when I’m rushed I’ve missed meditating in the morning but I really pay for it throughout the day by not feeling relaxed and calm.

When we are too busy we feel so overwhelmed that we believe we cannot possibly fit one more thing into our busy lives, so we do for everyone else but ourselves!

Everyone can find 10 minutes per day to meditate. And, when you do, you’ll find that this ten minutes helps you deal better with everything else that’s going on in your life. You’ll feel more relaxed and clear headed, which means that you will handle everything else better.

As soon as we added the background music to the meditations we both began listening to them!

I could feel my blood pressure dropping as I did.

In fact, Steve created a “9 Minute Heart Rate Challenge” based on listening to the first of the meditations.

Steve’s challenge is simply this:

  1. Measure your heart rate before listening to the “Relaxation” meditation.
  2. Listen to the meditation which is approximately 9 minutes long.
  3. Afterward remeasure your heart rate.

You’ll be pleasantly surprised to see how much your heart rate has slowed during those relaxing 9 minutes.

Here’s the link to listen to the meditation and take the Heart Rate Challenge.

That’s it! We designed this program to not only be affordable but to cover every area of life that can be improved with meditation.

You simply have to experience it to see how miraculous it is.

LsB: Thanks, Angela!

To find out more about the ReAwakening sytem, or if you want to purchase it, you can do that here.

Giveaway: The Complete ReAwakening System!

Angela and Steven have kindly donated a complete copy of The ReAwakening to Lightspirited Being for one lucky winner of a giveaway contest.

All you have to do is leave a comment answering 2 questions:

  1. In what ways has meditation helped you?  OR, if you’re not a meditator, how do you think it could?
  2. What about this particular system appeals to you?

That’s it!

Please leave the comment by noon MDT next Monday, April 16. I’ll decide then who I think will be able to benefit the most.

I’ll announce it here in this post, plus email the lucky winner.

•   •   •  We have a winner!  •   •   •

Thank you to all of you who entered. I loved reading your reasons for wanting this system, but then I wanted to give it to all of you!

And oooo, combinations of all of the above are worth getting excited about!

Here are some valuable bargains that have come to my attention lately that I want to share with you.

(And they’re almost upon us so read this now!)

Activations

If you didn’t see my tweets or Facebook postings and haven’t already registered, hop on over to Jo Dunning’s site and sign up for her “Activations of Awakening”.

It’s imminent! Tonight (Weds. ) at 6p PDT.

You write down your intentions for the session ahead of time, and then show up.

It’s different than what I did in my recent Spring Activation, and you can read all about Jo’s on her site.

I did it in Jan. ’11 and it was powerful! I swear, all kinds of things related to my intentions were suddenly on the move. So much so that it was a bit overwhelming for awhile.

Oh, and did I say it’s FREE? Yes!

And speaking of free, check out her brand new Wish Project while you’re there.

Thank you, Jo! 🙂

Magical Raven, Beautiful Book

I live in the high desert and over the years here have deeply connected with the ravens and all that Raven implies. S/he is magical, a messenger, and helps bring the subconscious into the light of awareness.

I recently had a friend pass away who was known far and wide as Raven. A gifted poet and otherwise remarkable man who was loved by many. So sad for us left behind without his bright light.

And then what flies into my life unexpectedly but a book about Raven. It’s beautifully written by my sweet and wise friend Christopher Foster of The Happy Seeker. I’m enjoying it little morsel by little morsel and can say that the love with which it obviously was written is almost palpable.

In Christopher’s words:

I’ve written four or five books over the years but am most proud of an animal fable entitled The Raven Who Spoke with God.

It’s a story about integrity and the unconquerable spirit in us all, and I mailed out the first copies on the morning of 9/11. The book was translated into 11 foreign-language editions but then it reached the end of its natural life, or so I thought.

Recently, however, my book has been published in Kindle format.

Oh, and did I say it’s FREE too?

Well, that is if you jump on it this Easter weekend, from this Friday thru Sunday, you can download a free Kindle edition. (And if you don’t have a Kindle it’s a snap to install the free software from Amazon so you can read Kindle books on your PC or Mac.)

You can get it here. And please help spread the word!

And of course it will still be available after this weekend, and well worth the little bit Christopher is asking for it.

Thank you, Christopher! 🙂

Meditation System Plus Plus

And finally, someone I know is getting close to releasing an awesome meditation product.

[Update: This meditation product has launched! You can find out more about it here.]

It’s aimed at the busy individual (know anyone like that?) who wants to reawaken to their natural inner balance, their calm connection to spirit, and their body’s natural state of health. It helps awaken intuitive guidance, dreams and aspirations, and it enhances productivity and success.

I was lucky to be one of the reviewers and my gosh! I can’t say enough good things about it.

I was hugely impressed.

It consists of:

  • 1 instruction manual (how to use the system)
  • 3 beautiful (and beautifully written) books
  • 1 workbook, and
  • 20 guided meditations

I’m not normally much of a guided meditation gal, but I have to say, I absolutely loved them! Every day I looked so forward to my guided meditation time.

It seemed to me that it’s almost like 3 offerings in one, although tightly integrated so each supports the others.

It’s like a class on silent meditation, another on using guided meditations, and yet another with step-by-step instruction/exercises for creating your own guided meditations to visualize what it is you want to create in your life.

ON top of that, there are four bonuses included … and they’re BIG bonuses!

And then I found out the asking price. What?! I thought I must have read it wrong.

Surely the price was supposed to have a zero behind it or maybe in the middle.

But no.

Talk about value. It’s worth it for the versatile set of guided meditations alone.

I’m delighted to have an interview with the creator about it that I’ll post here for you once the product’s available.

[Update: It’s available! You can find the interview here.]

You’ll hear all about the (amazing!) bonuses and you’ll get a link to a special free download so you can try out a part of the system.

Note that the system is not available quite yet! But in the interview post I’ll include all the details about how to get your hot little hands on it once it’s available. (And just so you know, if I’m smart I’ll be an affiliate by then, because it’s a truly remarkable system and I highly recommend it.)

Thank you, Mystery Person! 🙂

That’s it for now. Signing off. Happy Easter, and namasté.

If you take advantage of any of these bargains, please let us know what you thought of them in the comments!

When you live a multidimensional life, you’re always aware that everything’s connected.

Or more accurately, you appreciate that some things are just more dense representations of patterns that exist at a subtle level.

For the past few weeks I’ve noticed striking connections between my emotions and my home.

And seeing connections is helpful because it can provide some guidance as to where to go from where we are.

While I was on a recent trip, my sweet husband decided to surprise me by doing some planned painting. He was going to have it done when I got home as a Valentine’s Day gift to me.

But things went awry. The paint was smeary and maybe bad. It’s a deep color and needed more coats than he thought. Doing the trim was more painstaking than he expected. He found it all discouraging because he so wanted to surprise me, but I assured him it was okay. I could help paint when I got back, in fact would enjoy that.

Discombobulated House

When I got home, everything was in disarray. The large buffet that was against the partially painted wall was in the middle of the living room. A bean bag chair we also keep along that wall was in the middle of my office, along with a large ottoman that we had put there when we moved a new recliner into the living room to try it out.

Since then, rather than get better, things have gotten worse. We’ve had issues with the bed we bought about 10 months ago so we have various beds in various positions now in the bedroom.

Long story short, our house is kind of a mess. It feels like when you’ve just moved. You’re not all the way in, and not all the way out.

Discombobulated Emotions

Interestingly, my emotions have been in a similar state. They’re all over the place, and not neat and tidy like I’d like them. Just like with the heavy furniture, I’m having to live with and adjust to their heaviness and insistence that they make themselves known.

And like the furniture, they’re not tiny little issues, they’re big ones.

But sometimes making changes and improvements, especially big ones, requires living with upheaval for awhile, both inside and “outside”.

It’s helpful and good if you can allow the resulting disarray to be okay; to recognize that it’s a necessary part of the process.

Sticking with that uncertainty, getting the knack of relaxing in the midst of chaos, learning not to panic — this is the spiritual path. Getting the knack of catching ourselves, of gently and compassionately catching ourselves, is the path of the warrior.

~ Pema Chödrön, When Things Fall Apart

On a side-note, I find it interesting that in jyotish, the same house of the horoscope (the 4th) represents both our emotions and our home. They’re our private places. It’s also notable that I’ve got Mars transiting my 4th house right now, and go figure, the wall we are painting is a deep wine red, one of Mars’ colors. Mars is also the spiritual warrior.

Discombobulated Body

It’s no surprise that a few days after arriving home, I started to get a cold. According to Louise Hay in her book You Can Heal Your Life, colds can relate to “Too much going on at once. Mental confusion, disorder”.

I did an Emergence session with that, and got the clear message that as soon as I clear up my mental and emotional turmoil, the house would follow.

Of course, influence moves both directions, but my experience is that creation moves primarily from the more subtle to the more dense, i.e. emotional -> physical.

The state of my home is just a reflection and manifestation of the more subtle energies.

So my attention has been primarily on my emotional state … and even more subtle, on my spiritual state as well.

And if I get right down to it, I have to acknowledge that even these are simply indications of an even deeper pattern at the level of consciousness.

Surrender to Discombobulation

I could push through, pretend I know the answers to some of the emotional dilemmas that have been presenting themselves to me. But that’s not the answer.

Every part of me knows that for now, I need to sit with this. Let it all be a mess.

To just be in the not knowing for now.

Letting there be room for not knowing is the most important thing of all.

Things are always in transition, if we could only realize it. Nothing ever sums itself up in the way that we like to dream about. The off-center, in-between state is an ideal situation, a situation in which we don’t get caught and we can open our hearts and minds beyond limit.

~ Pema Chödrön, When Things Fall Apart

It’s not helpful to just push everything back where it supposedly “belongs”.

The answer is to really connect with my being and from there, examine the root of it all.

And just like with the furniture, I’m asking the fundamental questions:

  • What do I really need?
  • What do I really want?
  • What is working, and what’s not? Just because something used to be good doesn’t mean it still is.
  • Do I really like that? Or have I been settling?
  • What feels right?
  • What matches with my envisioned future, and the direction I see myself moving?
  • What works with my family as well as for me?

At the same time, I’m also practicing Emergence with some of my related patterns of consciousness that aren’t consciously accessible.

Big Disarray for Big Improvement

Even though inconvenient, I’m glad furniture is too big to “sweep under the rug”. That’s the easy way for lots of us sometimes. Oh, I’ll deal with that later. A later that never comes.

Sometimes things need an overhaul. Kind of like a spring cleaning, but even bigger. It’s not always necessary for it to all happen at once, but when it presents itself that way, it behooves us to go with it.

And again, even though inconvenient, I’m appreciating that I do have the time and space to give this examination the attention and depth that it deserves.

Well, truth be told, I’m making the time, because just like with heavy furniture, I feel the import and substantiveness of it.

I’m being patient with it and myself.

I’m living in surrender to what is, these days.

I’m learning to welcome uncertainty.

And even though tumultuous at times, I’m actually enjoying the process.

I know it’s good. And I know it will be worth it.

A week ago I offered you a free reading if you could use your intuition to find my lost camera.

Thanks everyone for your impressions!

Even some of you who didn’t find the camera were definitely picking up on things going on around our home — especially those of you who spoke of beds and sheds. There were some matches that I found fascinating and I’ll share the details with you in an upcoming post.

But now … Drum-roll please!

Congratulations go to Debbie Jensen-Grubb for zeroing in on my camera so exactly that it took my breath away!

This is fun! …sort of like hide and seek. After sitting with it for a moment with the picture of the camera in my mind I thought it might be on a top shelf in a closet. I also asked my pendulum who suggested that it might be the office closet. Let me know! Thanks for the brain exercise this morning. 🙂

And that’s exactly where it was: On the top shelf of my office closet!

So Debbie got her free reading for finding the camera, and she kindly agreed to do a podcast with me about how she did it.

Inner Voices and Magic Pendulums

Here’s the podcast for you to listen to if you want to hear how Debbie approached and successfully met this challenge.

It’s about 13 min. total.

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

And I’m so glad she shared because I learned a few new things about pendulums.

I especially love her sense of lightness and fun as she approached this, which I’m convinced played a big role in her finding it. In my experience, this, combined with the fact that she trusted what she got is pivotal.

Also: note that Debbie is not a professional intuitive! She says she “tries to listen to her inner voice”, and in many ways, that’s all it takes.

This is a great example of the fact that we all have intuition and we can all use it successfully!

Yoga Nidra

The first 9 min. of the podcast is about how Debbie found the camera.

And then there was a nice surprise!

I got to learn a few more new things about the profound effects of yoga nidra!

I had asked Debbie what she did for a living and she talked a bit about her career as a yoga teacher.

She’s created 2 yoga nidra CDs so of course I asked her to explain what yoga nidra is.

“Nidra” is the Sanskrit word for sleep, and in short, yoga nidra is a specific type of guided meditation where just 1 hour of it equals about 4 hours of sleep. (I’m there! I’ve ordered one and can’t wait ’til it arrives!)

If you ever feel sleep deprived or even just want to dive into your “golden egg” (Debbie explains on the podcast what this is), you might want to check them out.

You can find Debbie at TheYogaTeacher.net and her yoga nidra CDs are available at her shop there: Essential Relaxation and Yoga Nidra Cat Naps.

Debbie specializes in gentle, therapeutic yoga and in a few weeks will also offer her new DVD called Gentle Yoga for Strengthening. (UPDATE: It’s available now, just click on the link!)

Thanks again to Debbie and all who participated! I’ll have to do this again sometime. 😉

(And stay tuned for the related post where I’ll discuss some of your other impressions.)

Did you know that it’s more natural to be a sprinter than a marathon-er?

That breaks at relatively short intervals are critical for your physical, emotional, and mental well-being?

It’s true.

And if you want some inspiring and motivating reading that will help your productivity while at the same time give you permission — even encouragement — to make balance a priority, you’ll love digging into the bestselling guide The Power of Full Engagement by Loehr & Schwartz. It’s excellent. [I’ve only had it a few weeks and already I’m more productive — have you seen how many posts I’ve cranked out? — and I feel better at the same time.]

And perfect timing too. You’ll be all revved up for the new year, and ready to enjoy a nice, healthy break in the meantime.

♥ ♥ ♥

I’ll be absent from this blog from now until around Weds., Jan. 4.

I’m off for my own much-needed break where I will reinvigorate my love of all things subtle, intuitive and holographic. To commune with my soul.

The process has already begun and it feels maaa-velous!

Thanks to those of you who participated in my drawing for 2 free readings! I’ll announce the lucky winners sometime this weekend on my facebook page and am already looking forward to the readings. 😀

As to my regular (lately) Friday posts for Sonia Choquette’s weekly classes? Fugeddaboddit. Some of you said you wanted to do it with me online but with the exception of one (yes, one!) comment, I’ve not heard a peep. In fact, my blog has not been so quiet since I started it over a year ago, and I can only assume these class posts are a big, fat, flop.

So I’m discontinuing them. (Psst: I’m secretly glad because I really don’t want to have extra commitments over the holidays anyway. Down-time, ya know? I’m so ready.)

So, happy holidays to you, and I’ll see you in the new year.

Here’s wishing you many blessings in the meantime and after. Namasté.

Have you gotten a bit more in touch with your body this past week? I’m happy to report that I have, and my body and spirit are both delighted.

This is the end of Week 2 of the 10 week online course “The Answer is Simple”. Sonia’s topic this week was to  “Welcome Your Spirit” by loving your body as its sacred temple.

Did you?

(If you’re just joining us, the entire course is offered free by Sonia Choquette, and some of us are working it together here with a discussion at the end of each week. Join us!)

Love Your Body

Sonia reminded us to be attentive to our body, to embrace it, and to give it what it needs to thrive.

I took it as a reminder to be more conscious of both my body and my indwelling spirit. For me, being more attentive brought to mind all kinds of ideas and experiences I’d like to share. (But as I started to, I realized that each one is a post in itself. I don’t need to overwhelm you with it all right now. ;-)) But ultimately, being reminded of all these things helped strengthen my conscious connection between body and spirit.

Her main point, I think, was to appreciate our bodies as the sacred vessels for our life force or spirit. She points out that it’s our body that gives us the ability to “think and choose and move and create”, and that it’s a gift. And she goes on to encourage us to respect and honor it, to love it unconditionally, and then, importantly, to express and act on that.

Your Body as a Manifestation of Spirit

As to the fact that we’re often critical of our bodies, she points out that your body is the perfect one for you, and that it’s a gift. I totally and completely agree. I mean, how blessed are we? Crazy blessed, I’d say!

Like last week, though — and for the sake of our discussion — I would put it a subtly different way.

My own intuitive sense is that your body is the main (although not only) point of manifestation for your being. This is slightly different than the temple idea in that your body doesn’t encompass your being like a temple, since your being is not confined to your body. More accurately, your body is the part of your beingness that is manifesting directly in this 3-D world.

So by necessity and by definition, your body exactly matches who you are in your essence. It’s merely the more dense part of that same pattern which is you.

Do you have any thoughts on this? Or what did this bring up for you this week?

Be Attentive to Your Body

Sonia’s recommendations for putting these ideas into practice this week were:

1. Pay attention to how your body responds to things, e.g. to thoughts, to sound (including how you speak of it). She gave a lot of examples of thanking it out loud.

2. Give it the basics (water, rest and what it needs to get this e.g. pillow, white noise, lotion, foot rub, etc.)

I’d been in the process of some major “maintenance” ;-), i.e. dental work, routine checkups, therapy on my arm and shoulder (if you’re a blogger or writer, watch your ergonomics!), etc. and have been paying much attention to this area already.

It’s not so much that I’m communing with and loving it in a lovey-dovey way as I’m doing the practical things that it needs.

Still, it does appreciate it, I can tell. 🙂

I also intend to keep a good bit of my time free over the holidays so I can tend to my health with some of the many effective holistic practices I enjoy.

3. Speak kindly to and about your body. It hears it. Spirit loves having a body.

Here it’s about loving your body unconditionally.

Sonia says that the more you love it, the more your body will become the body that you idealize. Hmmm, I’d not thought of it that way and haven’t experimented with this yet but I’m going to. Stay tuned for an updated, ravishing me!

She ends this suggestion by recommending you treat your body well and that if you do, you’ll attract all kinds of wonderful things.

4. Don’t let an hour go by that you don’t appreciate it or do something for it.

Wow. I tried this and it’s easy to forget. But it did help bring more body awareness and appreciation into my life this week, both welcome things!

Did you do any or all of these things? Or did you improvise some of your own? What were they and what did you find?

And now … On to week 3! See you again soon!

Yikes, I thought, I’ve got way too much to get done! How can this be happening now?

Ever been there?

Last week, I found myself in a lot of pain. Physical pain. The whole right side of my mouth was tweaking on me, big time.

I had a lot to do but it was hard to focus, and I responded to the reality of what was happening by deciding not to struggle.

Instead of fighting the situation and pushing myself to get it all done, I just let go of it.

I surrendered.

I went down to the river deck where I always feel connected.

[Pull up a seat and join us. And click play.]

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

My dog, Ollie, came with me and we just hung out. He’s my bud. We smiled at each other now and then and it warmed my heart.

I took my overdue library book with me and zipped through the end of it.

And isn’t it funny that in the pages I covered that day, I discovered a bit more about exactly this, about being one with our issues and our difficulties. (There was a section about physician and healer Leonard Laskow and his book Healing With Love. You can bet I’m going to read that one.)

Connecting with our challenges rather than pushing against them helps us find our wholeness.

It confirmed to me that I was on the right track. As I often say to myself: Embrace it as though you had chosen it. Not always easy but always rewarding.

Not that I needed confirmation, but that wa’s nice, and a fun synchronicity. I know with every cell of my body the importance of being centered. And going with the flow is a big part of that for me.

And this is where I find myself again today.

I’ve been to the dentist and now I’m on pain meds but this has all set me back and I’m still finding it hard to concentrate. I get to go to an endodontist this week. (What a name END-o-dontist. Really? Could a root canal specialist sound any more scary, do ya think?)

I’ve got so much to do. I’m still so far behind, and even more-so now. But seriously. These are my old patterns nagging at me.

I’ve got to stay in my center here.

So maybe I’m behind but it’s more important to me to trust the unfolding; to have a balanced and holistic response to whatever appears in my life. I’m no longer willing to automatically cater to my stressed out ego-self that tries to be in charge all the time.

Some people would push through, I know. I used to be one of them, and still am sometimes when that’s what makes sense.

But now I’m usually inclined to honor what’s happening. To embrace the present moment. Not just as a moment but for what it’s presenting to me. (Hmm, I never noticed: Present-ing.)

And I ask myself: So, how do I dance with this?

I look at the big picture, the whole picture, and then make as conscious a choice as I can about what embracing it means … and what to do next.

In this situation, if I really look at it, it’s a gift. It’s all a gift. It’s a break. And it’s a good reason not to wig out about the things I’ve been wigging out about. (Heck, maybe I even created all of this dental drama so I could have a break. But I digress.)

And so, here I am enjoying writing a post to you that I don’t plan to overwork (for a change). You can take it, right? If it doesn’t flow logically? If it’s not super useful? (Hey, I’m on pain meds, I have an excuse.)

I’m getting to share me, my thoughts, my heart, and a bit more about what I want this blog to be about anyway: The importance and wonder of living from our center.

Because that’s where the magic lives.

And I think that’s a pretty nice thing to embrace, now that I think about it.

How do you dance with situations like this? Do you find value in going with the flow? I know you have something good to share …

If  you enjoyed this post, please share it with your friends on Twitter and Facebook. Want posts delivered to your reader or email? Click here to subscribe. Thank you!

Don’t you just love it when a chronic physical issue just goes away?

Me too.

So today I want to share a little *magic* with you that can increase the chances of that happening in your life. Auto-magically.

I hurt my shoulder a few months ago. My chiropractor says it’s my rotator cuff, and that I need to baby it so it can heal. So I’ve been doing that … But I don’t see much improvement. If anything, I keep re-injuring it.

The other day, I decided it’s time I work a little magic with it. That can mean a lot of things to me (as you may know), but in this case I mean that I’m going to practice some Holographic Emergence with it. (And I just finished an astonishing session. Very fun.)

A Little Magic Does the Job

I have every confidence doing this will make a big difference.

Years back I developed bothersome TMJ (Temporomandibular Joint disorder; quite the mouthful). It was painful and had become chronic. After I’d had it for years it was recommended to me that I have surgery. Yikes. No way. I decided to get to work.

I used a combination of Matrix Energetics and Reiki on myself. Amazingly, I didn’t even have to do too many sessions (I did regular Reiki for awhile, maybe about 10 treatments, and about 3 or 4 Matrix sessions, all over about a 4 month period) before I simply forgot about it and later realized that the TMJ was gone. Completely gone! This was a few years ago and it’s never returned.

And so, it’s foolish of me not to do a similar thing with my shoulder.

Synchronicity as Confirmation

But here’s the cool thing. The morning I decided to do this–and to perhaps blog about the process–I was walking Ollie (our sweet old lab) and decided to listen to some Deepak Chopra on my MP3 player.

OMG! Talk about synchronicity! Everything he said was such an affirmation of what I’ve experienced ever since beginning my practice of Matrix Energetics. And to me it said “Do it!” It also said to share it.

It’s one thing to be familiar with the ideas, but when you live them, that’s when the real magic happens.

Some Magical Ideas from Deepak Chopra

So, without further ado, I want to share some of Deepak’s statements with you. They’re from his 5 CD audio set “Magical Mind, Magical Body“, and I’m only 1/2 hr. into it but I can already recommend it. (And I love that he sounds so excited as he talks about these things. It makes for an involved listening experience.)

• Health is not just the absence of a disease, it’s a joyfulness that should be inside us all the time. It’s a state of positive well-being, which is not only physical but emotional and ultimately even psychological and spiritual.

[Note: You can use that simple idea with great effect. Every time you feel frumpy, repeat the idea to yourself that you are well and express well-being and you’ll feel an instant shift.]

The body is not a frozen sculpture, it’s a river of energy and information. … You can not step into the same flesh and bones twice.

• You replace 98% of all the items of your body in less than one year.

• There is a deeper reality to the body and that deeper reality is what we want to see because from that deeper reality comes both the mind and the body. Both come from that deeper level of existence.

• A physicist would say: “Our atoms are particles that are moving at lightening speeds around huge empty spaces, they emerge from something which is just a field of pure potentiality, just a field of pure energy, and from that field these particles emerge. They’re fluctuations of energy and information. They emerge from a void. They rebound, collide, and then disintegrate into the void.”

• We have a thinking body. And you can’t imprison the mind in the brain. That’s an old notion, that the mind is confined to the brain. The mind is in every cell of our body.

You can’t even confine the mind to your physical body because it extends beyond your physical body into the whole universe. We are part of a thinking conscious universe that is basically a non-local field of information. We can call the universe a non-local field of information and energy with which this local expression (which we call the physical body) is exchanging energy and information.

• It’s estimated that the average person thinks about 60,000 thoughts a day … and 95% of the thoughts you have today are the ones that you had yesterday. So you keep creating the same patterns that give rise to the same physical expression of the body. If you go to a deeper level, witness the whole process, become conscious of it, then you’d realize that in fact there are choices here.

What we do is we take that chaos of energy soup, we ingest it through our 5 senses, and then we convert that into a physical reality in our own awareness, in our own consciousness. And we do it unconsciously most of the time that results in certain interpretations that are part of a cultural indoctrination.

There’s one part of you that doesn’t change. If you find that part of you that doesn’t change then you’ll be able to cause transformations in that part of you that does change.

[Note: Deepak uses the word “you” but then goes on to complicate it. You can discover that part of you that doesn’t change easily and simply. Just visit  John Sherman’s website and take advantage of what he so generously offers.]

• Now if I said the mind is omniscient it would sound sort of mystical. That it knows everything, it’s omnipotent, it’s omnipresent, it would sound almost like I’m talking in mystical terms. But in fact, in scientific terms, that’s an accurate statement.

Now once we recognize that — even to have the insight — is to begin to cause transformations in your body. A person’s body is nothing but an expression of all the ideas they have about it.

• If there’s a fluctuation that changes at deeper levels of energy and information then it causes, spontaneously without having to do anything, you don’t have to brainwash yourself about this. You just have to have the insight. And the insight itself causes the changes.

Patterns of Light and Information

So, these are some of the ideas I use — that have become a part of me — as I work with my shoulder. Or more accurately, this pattern of light and information that I perceive as a shoulder. 😉

Like Deepak says, recognizing this reality helps create a transformation all by itself. It’s what gives us a lot more power than we think we have otherwise.

And therein lies your magic.

So this is the world I get to play in every day.

Want to join me? Or have you already?

Are you aware of what a positive effect you can have on yourself, others, and situations when you take a moment to bless them?

“Personality has power to uplift, power to depress, power to curse, and power to bless.

Paul Harris

I grew up thinking only priests could bless things. At the very least I thought I had to invoke God or a saint to do the actual blessing.

Blessings stuck in my throat for awhile, but now I personally believe that the sacred in us, the sacred that we are, the divinity that we are, is perfectly sufficient to bestow a blessing. In fact, it just might be one of our best activities of all; one that we’re made for.

What is a Blessing?

Technically, bless means to invoke divine favor upon, or to pronounce something as holy. Sometimes it’s used to mean the transfer of energy.

To me, it means a good thought or good wishes. It’s a reverence for something and for its existence; an acknowledgement of its preciousness and its sacredness. It’s the decision to see a person or thing in its perfection or wholeness (holy). It can be bestowing “good vibes” on it or giving it your best.

In fact, you can even be a blessing yourself. (In fact, I’m sure you are. ;-))

Blessings Lead to Blessings

Last week I was on my way to the dentist. I had butterflies and decided to bless his office. I was introduced to the idea of preparing spaces in Reiki, and then again in Matrix Energetics. And I came across a similar idea recently in a home study course.

So I began blessing the dentist’s office.

I blessed the space, then him, then his assistants, and the receptionist whom I’d talked with on the phone. I blessed the whole clinic and then the whole town.

If I choose to bless another person, I will always end up feeling more blessed.

Marianne Williamson

I live in a remote area and it’s a 50 mile drive through the desert to the dentist’s, which is itself in a remote area.

As I drove (and blessed, and drove some more), I couldn’t help but notice the breathtaking scenery and what a pleasant drive it was.

Pretty soon I was blessing and appreciating all kinds of things: my wonderful little car, my nutritious and tasty blackberry smoothie, the gorgeously puffy clouds above the scrubby juniper landscape of the stark desert with its multi-colored mesas. (Oh, I wish I’d had my camera; you’d get to see a photo of it right now.) I blessed my teeth that have done so much for me, and I blessed the feisty little nerve endings that alerted me that something needed to be taken care of. And I couldn’t forget about me. I was also blessing me.

I soon felt so good that I noticed I’d been automatically catapulted into practicing the Law of Attraction, or rather the Law of Allowing. Hmmmm, maybe this dentist visit won’t be so scary after all.

And come to think of it, that was the last of the frayed (or is it ‘fraid?) nerves.

In the end — and what seemed to me a result of the blessing — the whole appointment was a great experience (and yes, there was even drilling involved, eeek). Everyone was super friendly and competent. I liked the dentist a lot.

Can I prove that it’s because of the blessing? No. But come on.

And even if it wasn’t, it just felt so good. And not just to me, but to everyone I came into contact with that day. I’m sure of it.

We can bless everything and anything. So why not do it?

You Can Bless People and Things

Hands-on blessings can be especially powerful. You can bless:

  • Your food (hands hovering just over it)
  • Cards & letters before you send them
  • Gifts before you give them
  • Pets (and I think they bless us at the same time!)
  • Plants (especially effective toward the roots)
  • Yourself (try some hands-on blessing next time you take a shower)

I’ve known people who, as they pay their bills, send a little blessing to the receiver when they lick the envelope or stamp. Or if you pay online, you can do that when you press “make payment”.

Speaking of online, you can send blessings when you:

  • Send an email
  • Publish a post
  • Make a comment or respond to one
  • Thank someone after a webinar

Of course you can always use them in your regular interactive life (you do have one of those, right?) Try it when you:

  • Thank a sales clerk
  • Say goodnight to your loved ones
  • Dial a phone number, or end a call
  • Pass someone on the street
  • Wave at someone

Oh, the list could go on and on.

Essentially, every and any little act, you can consciously add a blessing.

And when you bless someone you’re upset with or resentful of, the blessing can come back to you tenfold. (I’ll write more about this in a separate post. It’s uncanny what happens.)

You Can Bless Places and Spaces

Just like I did with the dentist’s office, you can bless any space whether you’re there or not.

  • Your bedroom before sleep
  • Your home before a party
  • Anywhere you’re going (store, class, etc.)
  • The road you’ll be driving on
  • Your space and your client’s space before a phone or distance session

You Can Bless Past, Present, & Future

Normal day, let me be aware of the treasure you are. Let me learn from you, love you, bless you before you depart. Let me not pass you by in quest of some rare and perfect tomorrow. Let me hold you while I may, for it may not always be so.

Mary Jean Iron

Another way to bless something is to honor it. Like in this quote, how do we bless this day? By appreciating it to the fullest. By being our best we can be.

You can bless certain time periods or events. You can:

  • Bless this moment
  • Bless forward in your day or week, especially if there’s an event you or your loved ones are participating in
  • Bless the results of an upcoming event, whatever they might be
  • Bless past situations, the “good” and the “bad”

Blessings All Around

So you see, the sky’s the limit.

Next time you feel like sharing the joy, send blessings. And if you feel upset, send blessings! Maybe like when I was on my way to the dentist, you’ll be glad you did.

Thanks for reading today. Bless you!

And now, do you want to bless us with your comment? Do you do blessings? With what? How? What results have you noticed? Or anything else!

Ok, maybe you don’t get burps (or maybe you do), but did you know there is often some indication when you are processing or healing something? And just to be clear, I don’t mean signs like running to the wine cabinet or grabbing a bag of potato chips. 😉

I bet if you start to pay attention, you’ll notice your own version of healing burps.

Last week, my husband and I attended a memorial service for a remarkable woman who contributed greatly to our little mountain community. It was held in the zendo at the nearby Zen Center and the house was packed, as they say.

Partway into the ceremony, I found myself having little burps. Then bigger burps. (Of course I was very discreet, sweet thing that I am.) Just then, I noticed my husband doing the same thing. (Although on a manly scale. Enough said. Just kidding.)

I looked at him and we kind of smiled at each other. Of course we knew what was going on. We were “processing”. Who knows exactly what. Who cares?

It was a good thing.

Examples of Processing

Have you ever paid attention to this? I never used to, but now it’s so common I can’t miss it. I’m not sure if it’s because I process more now or if it’s just that I notice it more now. I think it’s a combination of both.

Especially if you are empathic, you will often do this for others. It happens in situations like that memorial service where processing is going on at many levels. Or it can happen if you’re talking to a friend on the phone who’s going through a rough patch.

I always do this when I do an Emergence Session. It happens during and it happens quite a lot right afterward. It’s kind of like when you jog and then stop — there’s something moving that keeps moving even though you aren’t anymore.

It often happens during my Channeling Sessions too.

When I learned Reiki many years ago, my Reiki Master insisted on having her clients sign something before their session saying they would not get embarrassed and suppress their bodily activities during the session. Burping and farting were encouraged! She did a lot of burping herself, as I recall. (And she was good, what powerful sessions!)

Same with my channeling teacher. Lots of burping.

And it happens a lot in everyday life. I’m not talking about the times when it makes sense to burp because of something you just ate or drank. It comes out of nowhere when processing is obviously going on.

Here are some things you can watch for.

Processing Situations

These vary widely from formal “healing” sessions to everyday activities.

They can be things like:

Sessions with clients
• Consciousness shifting sessions (like Emergence Sessions)
• Healing sessions (like Reiki, massage)
• Counseling situations (like intuitive sessions, channeling sessions, etc.)

In my experience this doesn’t happen so much when I’m “in my head” or very focused (e.g. during a jyotish astrology reading) as when I am in a softer space and more open intuitively. Do you have a different experience?

Contact with loved ones
• Open hearted in-person discussions
• Being near or with someone who’s having difficulties
• Phone calls
• Just thinking of that person

Once you get good at recognizing the signs, you’ll realize that it’s a reliable signal that your loved one is going through something, and you can offer your support, either directly or indirectly.

Random contacts
• Group gatherings (like the memorial service)
• Being in public (this doesn’t happen much for me because I’m usually in my head and relatively less porous)
• Crowds

Your own stuff
• When you’re doing something that is evoking emotion (e.g. writing in a journal, listening to music from when you were a teenager, etc.)
• When you are open intuitively to access personal guidance
• When you are intentionally working through something

Processing Indicators

There’s a range of these and I have had or done most of the following. I find that they each have a somewhat specialized purpose, but in general they are still “processing”.

You will have your own indicators, with one probably being most common.

They will always relate to some kind of movement.

Here are some common ones:

• Burping
• Yawning (very common! can also indicate changing state of consciousness)
• Sighing
• Sweating
• Tummy or intestinal rumbling (more common in healing modalities)
• Farting (ta da, I said it!)(also more common in healing modalities)
• Sudden sleepiness (this can also be an avoidance tactic)
• Sudden heat in your body (this happens a lot when I do Reiki) And believe it or not, this can even be valid for menopausal women. Start to watch what’s going on when you have your hot flash. It can be very revealing.
• Crying (duh)
• Hiccoughs
• A quick shiver or chill (sometimes this acts as a confirmation more than processing, but can be both)

This isn’t an exhaustive list and I’m sure there are more. But I know from experience that these things help process. When I have healing burps, my clients can feel things moving and so can I.

Lots of you work in similar fields as me and have clients of your own. Do you do this? How does yours manifest (if not toooo embarrassing)?

chrysalisToday, I’m thrilled to finally announce a new service I’m offering.

It’s called a Holographic Emergence Session, where I act as a catalyst to facilitate a shift in whatever area of your life you’re wanting to focus on.

It could be an area where you’re feeling stuck, or where you want improvement, or where you want any kind of change.

Any kind of change you want, we can activate it and sometimes make the complete shift right then and there.

When I do these sessions I access a special state (for lack of a better term) and then I open to whatever’s called for in that moment. Almost always my intuitive abilities will come into play too, and we work together (although you don’t have to “do” anything) while

I facilitate the emergence of the whole you into this world,
unencumbered and magnificently expressed.

Thus the name Holographic “Emergence” Sessions. 🙂

And the changes I facilitate in your life are directly related to your emergence. Intimately. As you truly emerge into the world, you affect everything. For you don’t stop at your skin. It’s all you.

There is no “out there” out there!

Kinds of Changes

We can shift things in any area of your life. Yes, any area.

It can be related to:

emergence

  • your job
  • your interests and/or vocations
  • money
  • relationships
  • emotions
  • health
  • spirituality
  • your traits or abilities
  • your habits
  • your environment (home, family, co-workers, pets, property, spaces, etc.)
  • issues from the past
  • concerns about the future
  • specific upcoming events
  • spaces you’ll be using/inhabiting

you name it.

Nothing is off-limits.*

I inevitably find during a session that whatever’s being worked on runs like a thread though several areas of life anyway. It’s kind of amazing, actually. Connections might be brought to light that you weren’t even aware of but that suddenly seem obvious.

The Results

Now, what’s interesting about this is it doesn’t guarantee that things will change how you (as a personality) want them to.

But things will change, and for the better — often, even better than you imagined.

It also doesn’t necessarily work on your timetable.

Sometimes things will happen immediately, really obvious things. Sometimes they unfold over time and you may not even recognize that they’re the solution to your problem or issue but in retrospect you see that they were.

So Holographic Emergence Sessions set things in motion. They shift a pattern in consciousness and depending what it is, the change may or may not manifest quickly or in the way you might expect.

How Holographic Emergence Sessions Work

Holographic Emergence Sessions are based on my training in Matrix Energetics, but I’ve adapted Matrix Enegetics to what I do best. And this is as it should be, because Matrix Energetics is adaptable by nature.

It’s not really a technique.

We’re actually using something that’s available to everyone all the time, which is the zero-point-field and consciousness.

It’s just that we’ve learned how to access it to make shifts in our everyday reality. (If you want to get mind-boggled and amazed at the same time, go see what Matrix Energetics is all about.)

I’ve been doing this since 2007, and have done hundreds if not thousands of sessions.

in flight

Most recently, some volunteers from my monthly newsletter list received complementary sessions in exchange for their feedback, to help me hone how to package these.

“I want to update you on what’s been happening. Things are going very well! My energy has definitely shifted, and lots of good stuff is popping up. [Here she talks about 4 new job prospects.] I think your session definitely helped this energy shift happen and so I want to thank you again for your good work.Keep doing what you’re doing, because the world needs more insightful, helpful people like you!”

Since then, a few clients have already had sessions too, and one had several since she noticed such positive changes.

“I had the most incredible healing, Patti, I can’t wait to tell you about it. You’re incredible, I really appreciate what you’ve done for me, I never have been through anything like this.”

Without exception, they had noticeable, positive results.

So I decided it’s time to hang out my shingle.

Because I’m so excited about this, I’m starting with a very affordable fee. I’ll probably raise my rates fairly soon, so if you’re eager to make some positive shifts, now’s the time! Just contact me to schedule your session.

More About Holographic Emergence Sessions

Over time I’ll fill in the blanks, and write more about what you can expect, i.e.

  • How to prepare for a session
  • What happens during a session
  • What you can expect after a session
  • Is there any followup, and why
  • Examples of sessions and/or results

In the meantime, if you have questions or comments about this new service, you’re welcome to put them in the comment section, or contact me directly.

* I get such wonderful clients and I’m sure it’s not even necessary to say this but I’m going to anyway: I don’t work in areas that feel unethical to me. At the same time, I’m not judgemental about how you choose to live your life. That’s probably enough said, and we can discuss specifics if we need to (but I don’t expect it will come up).

If you think your friends might benefit from this service, I’d appreciate it if you’d spread the word. (That’s exactly how it is that I get such wonderful clients!) Thank you!

“I just have not been in a writing “space” but I better get my ass there pretty damn quick. I was all inspired about a post to write tonight or tomorrow but […] threw me off.

Can I get back on track? Yes. I can. I know how to do that.”

That is taken straight out of my journal/diary from a few days ago.

Have you ever been in a space like that? Where there’s something you want to do, but you’re having a hard time getting into the right frame of mind to do it well?

Okay, so maybe you can push through and get it done, but who wants to operate like that?

Much better to get in harmony with what it is you want to accomplish. It’s more enjoyable that way, and it turns out better besides.

There are quite a lot of tools that can help with that, actually, and I want to tell you about one of them that’s very effective and fun to experiment with.

Brain Entrainment Using Binaural Beats

I wrote about one such tool awhile back, in my binaural beats post. They’re kind of mindless to apply (a very nice feature sometimes) yet are very effective. I like them a lot, and that post links to some sites where you can try them out (for free).

Well, one of my readers/clients read that post and emailed to tell me he uses and likes the binaural beats, but also uses another similar technology too. He’s a lawyer who travels some for his job, is an actor in his spare time, and in his words: “I’ve used this different technology to reduce jet lag, enhance sleep, enhance concentration and memory, etc.”

He’s a very conscientious person so I thought I’d check them out.

Brain Entrainment Using Isochronic Beats

This other technology is isochronic beats, and they’re said to be the most powerful means of brain entrainment available to the general public.

Isochronic Tones

Unlike the binaurals, they don’t require that you listen in stereo. Instead of your brain perceiving the difference in frequency between your left and right ears (as in binaural beats), you’ll hear the pulsing itself — fast or slow depending on which frequency you are entraining your brain to.

For more about brain entrainment in general and the effects of different frequencies, please see my post about binaural beats.

Try Them For Free

I don’t know about you but I love to try things out and sample them before buying.

Here’s a site I found that has a whole lot of different isochronic beats for you to try for free.

They’re all “feature-length”, i.e. not just little snippets but long enough to do whatever it is you want done.

So far, I’ve used these mainly to help me sleep, and for me they work very well and very consistently.

Some of the files you can download are:

  • Nirvana/Sleep – This is the one I use a lot. It’s soothing and it works. 45 min.
  • Sleep – 20 min.
  • Mental Performance 1, 2, and 3.
  • Refresh – 1 hr.
  • Void – Still experimenting with this one… 20 min.
  • I.Q. Increase
  • Creativity – 15 min.
  • Headache relief – one for awake and one for relaxed
  • ESP – 20 min.
  • Anti jet-lag
  • Awake and Alert

He also has whole categories for:

  • Lucid Dreaming
  • Spiritual Tones (e.g. astral projection, chakra balancing, meditation)
  • Recreational (Are you a child of the 60’s too? Check it out in any case!)

The site itself has much more description and lots more audios to try than I’ve given here.

The only drawback to the way the files are listed there is that most don’t indicate which frequency is used. Maybe that’s not important to you, but in case you care, the site author does link to a very detailed frequency list he used when he mapped each frequency to its effects.

So… enjoy! If you try any of these out, I’d love to hear your experience of them. Or any other comments/questions? Please pipe in!

Our canyon in the Jemez Mountains

Sometimes we feel the pain or joy of another as if it were our own.

And sometimes it’s hard to know what to do with these intense feelings.

If you are one of these sensitive people, you are not alone.

What’s more, you can turn what could be a handicap into a valuable gift.

Feeling Another’s Pain

A few years ago I was driving up our gorgeous canyon for my daily walk with our dogs and was shocked to see what the electric company had done to the trees that grow along the road.

They had attacked the trees with a chainsaw. Hundreds of them.

Tortured is the perfect word to describe what they had done to them, and what the trees must be feeling.

I immediately felt such compassion, grief, and sadness that it felt like I’d been punched in the gut. I literally felt sick to my stomach.

I felt it for the trees. Not for myself, that I could no longer enjoy the beauty of them, although, of course, that was a loss too. But I felt for the trees themselves.

I felt this way for quite some time. I did what I could in a practical sense to prevent it ever happening again, but in the end my efforts have been futile. I’m sorry to say it’s become an annual ritual.

Empathy

All of us are sensitive to our surroundings. Some of us are more sensitive than others, and some of us notice it more than others. But we all are affected by everything around us.

This is known as empathy.

The typical way this word is used is in relation to our feeling compassion for another person. We identify with them and then feel what they might feel

But we can feel empathy for everything and anything. For sentient beings especially (and here I include the plant kingdom), but also for those things we don’t consider as having feeling at all.

And it happens in a physical or vibrational way without our even thinking of that person or thing.

Are You an Empath?

If you aren’t aware of this influence on you, you can find yourself feeling all kinds of emotions and moods that just don’t make sense given your current life situation.

If this happens a lot it’s the first sign that you are what’s known as an “empath”. This means you are more naturally sensitive than most people to energies around you.

And you absorb them and take them on as if they were your own without even noticing you’re doing that.

So Now What?

There are lots of ways to work with your empathic abilities.

One way is to learn to avoid taking on others’ stuff without knowing you are doing that.

Another way is to learn to use those very same abilities to greatly enhance your life and the lives of others.

This includes sharing your experiences with other empaths as well as reaching out to those beings or things you feel empathy for. (Sending loving energy to Gaia or Mother Earth is a good example of this. Or send some love to the trees of the Jemez. They can use it.)

This is how you turn what might otherwise be a handicap into one of your most useful skills.

I’ll continue to write about this topic from time to time, and in more detail. In the meantime, there is a lot of free information on the web about working with these abilities. Here’s one site that’s fairly comprehensive and a good place to start.

A Series of Empath Interviews

Another great place for helpful information is a new empath interview series.

Over at her lively and informative blog Conduit of Joy!, Kara has just kicked off an interview series “Empaths R Us”. (Is that like cute or what? It’s reflective of her fun-loving energy.)

Her first interview is with yours truly 🙂, and you can find it here. She asks really thought-provoking questions and it was an interesting process to consider them.

If you’re wondering if you’re an empath, or if you know you are and want some ideas for working with it, I think you’ll find my interview helpful.

Better yet, subscribe to or bookmark Conduit of Joy! so you can benefit from the whole series!

And maybe I will “see you there”.

Have you ever found yourself “crying for the trees?” Do you consider yourself an empath? Any comments or questions about what I discuss in my interview? I’d love to hear!

Have you ever wanted to be more alert, creative, inspired, intuitive, or even more sleepy?

Well, you can! At your very fingertips — literally — lies a powerful tool that can help you with that. It’s a natural method that affects how your brain functions and lets you choose your state of mind.

And it doesn’t require you to take anything or invest huge sums of money in some fancy machine.

It doesn’t even require any extra time or attention on your part except to get it set-up so it can act in the background.

All you need is a way to play and listen to stereo sound, and you’re good to go.

This tool is known as brain entrainment, and you have easy access to it right now; it’s only a few clicks away.

(Oh geez, this sounds like an ad doesn’t it? It’s not! Just this really cool thing I want to share. Read on…)

Easily Enter Your Desired State

A popular use of brain entrainment is to help you either boost or switch over to whatever particular state of mind or state of consciousness is helpful for your task at hand.

From my own personal experience I can confirm that it helps significantly with creativity, energy work, intuition, meditation, and even falling asleep (yes, ahhh!)

A Quick Lesson on Brainwaves

Scientists have determined that when you are in a particular state of mind, most of your brainwaves fall into one particular freqency band corresponding to that state.

Here’s a list of the frequency bands and their matching mind states.

Gamma ( 38 to 90 hz) and  Hyper Gamma (to 100hz)

Harmonizing and unifying thoughts, self awareness and insight, simultaneous processing, produced during hypnotic states.

Beta (12 to 30 hz) – Alert & Analytical

Normal waking consciousness, relaxed yet focused, aware of self and surroundings, analytical, mental processing, peak performance.

Alpha (8 to 12 hz) – Creative & Intuitive

Relaxed state, common in focused meditation, creative, resourceful, calm, at ease, whole brain integration, and beginning of higher levels of awareness.

Theta (4 to 8 hz)  – Integrative

Threshold of subconscious between waking and sleeping, dreaming, access to altered states, intuitive, creative, imaginative, “oneness”, “knowing”, can be drowsy.

Delta (.1 to 3.5 hz)  – Restorative & Healing

Deep, dreamless sleep, non-REM sleep, trance, deep intuition, unconscious.

Flip it Around to Entrain Your Brain

Scientists have also discovered that you can use this idea the other way around.

That is, if you expose your brain to a particular frequency, you will encourage that state of mind to occur. This occurs naturally due to a principle called the frequency following response.

Using brainwave frequencies this way is called brain entrainment.

You’ll also find that if you use a certain entrainment frequency frequently (sorry, couldn’t help it), it’s easier for you to slip into that state at will — naturally, and without any help.

Binaural Beat Audios

The tricky thing is that brainwave frequencies are too low to be detected by the human ear.

To get around this, technicians use the fact that waves are additive and subtractive (remember high school physics?) This enables them to use two sound waves that are within our range of hearing, but whose difference equals the wavelength of the desired brainwave frequency.

You listen to one frequency in one ear, and the other in the other ear, and the end result is that your brain “hears” the difference, which is your desired brain wave frequency.

Because they are created with two separate frequencies, these are known as binaural beats.

You Have Easy Access to These

In recent years these special audios have become easily accessible to us. They are spattered all over the internet.

Here are some sources I have personal experience with.

Dr. Jeffrey Thompson is one of the pioneers in making these available to the general public. He has a whole series of them which, according to the reviews, people find very helpful.

I have a few of his CDs myself and have gotten a lot of use from them. (I use the Gamma or Hyper Gamma sometimes when I want to be in a Matrix Energetics state (for which I’m trained), and I also have the Delta which definitely helps me sleep when I’m having trouble.)

Even more cool is that you can download 30 min. segments of various binaural beats for a mere 99 cents each, and you don’t even have to wait for a CD to arrive. I got one of these to experiment with Alpha (which helps with intuition) and I must say, it works great.

And finally, Jerry Whiting at JetCityOrange has created a range of binaural beat audios that he generously encourages us to download for free! Most are 10 min. long and some are longer. (Surprisingly, these are plenty long to get a sense of the frequency since time stretches out in an odd way when you are listening, especially to the alpha and theta levels.)

He even provides a few that use the Schumann resonance, which is the underlying vibration of Mother Earth. (I really like using these.)

And if that doesn’t do it for you (and if you’re a techie nerd like I am sometimes), there are even programs out there, some of them free, that you can use to create your own.

Further Information

I have learned a lot about all this over the last few years. I have several case studies I’ve done with these audios and more detailed suggestions about various ways to use them to facilitate one state or another.

I’ll be sharing some of that over time — so watch this space :-).

Note: I’ve since written another post about brain wave entrainment, this time with isochronic beats. You can check it out here. But be careful — it links back to this post so don’t get caught in an endless loop! 😉

(I’m also developing a product that includes an audio with a guided exercise that uses binaural beats; stay tuned for that!)

Your Turn

In the meantime, if you are at all interested in easily boosting your functioning in any of the areas I mentioned, you may want to give these audios a try. Remember that you either need to be between two stereo speakers for them to work, or using some type of MP3 player with stereo headphones such as an iPod.

Note: These are a pretty powerful way to shift your state of mind, so be sure to use common sense in how and when you use them. For example, you don’t want to use Delta (for sleeping) when you are driving, or you don’t want to use Beta (for alert analytical work) when you want to unwind.

Have you ever used any of these? Do you find them effective? Can you see how these might be useful? Please share!
