Communing with GaiaAs I sit to write this today, a fresh breeze is blowing gently through the window. The wind chimes tinkle softly and I hear a songbird singing outside. The sun warms the soil and the air, feeding the plants with its light, and the little lizards poke out of their hiding spots and scramble across the warm, red earth.

Aren’t we just incredibly blessed to live on this beautiful planet?

Today, do yourself a favor and treat yourself to a conscious connection with the being that is this place; with Mother Earth, also known as Gaia.

It’s not hard to do and it’s surprisingly satisfying. All it really requires is your taking a moment to consciously connect with her.

Let me tell you about an experience of communion that’s been unforgettable.

One day, I found myself emotionally distraught over something.

I’m fortunate to live in the high desert, surrounded by gorgeous red rock mesas. So I went outdoors, where all around the base of the mesa which looms above our home are various sizes of rocks — from tiny pebbles to giant boulders.

I lay face-down on a boulder that was beckoning me and essentially did the steps I outline below.

I was almost shocked how accessible the actual LIFE of the place, of Gaia, was.

I felt her actual presence loving me, supporting me, healing me into an awareness of my wholeness.

Even that so-called inanimate rock was alive and loving me.

I just cried and cried – out of relief … love … connection … amazement.

It was cleansing, grounding,  and revitalizing.

It was remarkable.

First, Notice the Gifts

If you have access to nature, or even just to outdoors, that can help. But even if not, and even if you’re in the middle of a city, you can still do this easily.

It’s not a mental thing but you can prepare by noticing how everything around you has been a gift from her.

If you’re outdoors, it’s obvious.

If you’re indoors, notice that everything there is a gift of the earth as well. Take your furniture, for example. It’s made from wood from her living trees, upholstery from her living cotton plants, or if it’s synthetic it’s produced using oil that’s made from ancient living beings.

It’s hard not to feel grateful and appreciate how all of it is simply given to us by her.

Next, Take These Few Simple Steps

In that spirit of appreciation:

1. Close your eyes.
2. Imagine the sphere we think of as Earth.
3. Feel her support underneath you.
4. Feel her embracing you. Loving you.
5. Love and appreciate her as well.
6. Feel the exchange of love and appreciation.
7. Hold that connection for awhile.
8. Notice whether there are any messages communicated either direction.
9. Gently thank her for the connection.

Now, don’t just read this and think it’s too simple to prompt a meaningful experience!

You have to try it!

I think you’ll be amazed at how the presence of this magnificent earth can nourish and heal you, body and soul. 🙂

Eagle EyesYears ago, I was introduced to the “eye-opening” concept of seeing with Eagle Eyes to expand your perception.

You see differently, and you see more.

This leads to enhanced creativity and intuition, among other benefits.

And although this concept is related to sight, it can really encompass all your senses, including your 6th sense.

Here’s the idea.

Latent Inhibition

In his book Entangled Minds: Extrasensory Experiences in a Quantum Reality, Dean Radin discusses the idea of latent inhibition. It’s an unconscious brain process that degrades our ability to pay attention to stimuli that have had no consequences in the past.

In other words, we automatically ignore things that are not critical to the task at hand. It’s what enables us to focus without becoming distracted and overwhelmed with all the millions of pieces of information in our perceptual field at any given time.

Healthy people tend to have high latent inhibition, since the more our sensory awareness is suppressed by what the brain considers irrelevant, the more we remain stable and focused.

Openness & Creativity

However, low latent inhibition is associated with the personality trait “openness to experience”, which in turn is associated with divergent thinking and creativity.

Tests done on Harvard graduate students showed that those with high creativity had significantly lower latent inhibition scores than those who were categorized as low creativity.

This underscores the idea that highly creative people have greater access to more of what the world presents.

Expanded Perception

So creativity requires “perceiving outside the box”. This is different than “thinking outside the box”, unless you experience thinking as perceiving a new thought. In my experience, thinking is often directed and active whereas perceiving is receptive. But in a creative state I notice that my thinking goes back and forth between being active and actually receiving ideas.

Creative ideas often come in a flash, and long ago I realize that they are much akin to intuition. In fact they’re so similar that being in a creative or intuitive state is almost — if not exactly — the same thing.

From this perspective, we can better understand why creative people report more psychic experiences. … Most people who believe in psychic phenomena are not ignorant or mentally deficient. They just see farther into the depths of the world than other people do.

~ Dean Radin, Entangled Minds

How to Enhance Your Creativity

Can you choose to lower your latent inhibition and thus expand your levels of perception and creativity?

My experience is definitely yes.

The more I do it, the more information I have conscious access to. My intuition is constantly getting more active and reliable, and I get so many creative ideas I can’t hardly keep up with them.

And all it takes is intention and practice.

And this is where the idea of Eagle Eyes comes in.

Eagle Eyes

Eagles fly high above ground. They have a bird’s eye view. And even though they may be looking at one particular area, they’re ever alert to anything at all that might move or otherwise catch their attention.

A super easy and fun way to practice expanding your perception is this:

1. Choose an object in your vicinity.

2. Look at it. Now soften your vision so you’re gently gazing at it.

3. Notice, while leaving your eyes there, all the other phenomena in your peripheral vision.

4. Allow your attention to focus on them even as your eyes remain gently focused on the initial object.

You can do this with all your senses. While holding mainly on one particular item (sound, sensation, etc.) allow your attention to roam, noticing even more with that same sense.

Another way to practice expanding your perception is this:

When you have a free moment, simply ask yourself

“What am I not noticing?”

If you want more direction than that, then use all your senses, inner and outer, to

a. first check your environment

b. then your body

c. then emotions

d. then thoughts

e. then vibrations.

You’ll be amazed at how many things suddenly come into your awareness!

Some will be things that could be obvious to anyone but some will be very subtle things that you may wonder if you’re really even perceiving as opposed to just imagining.

Trust that you are.

And if you practice these exercises regularly, you’ll start to do this naturally, and you’ll notice that you’ve become more creative and intuitive, sometimes startlingly so.

Here’s to your expansion!

A little friend in our yard last fall …

Certainly you’re aware that lots of people have bumper stickers stating what they brake for, such as:

“I brake for wildlife”

or (here in the Southwest)

“I brake for tarantulas”.

Just think. The way we all race around, going from here to there, if people didn’t brake for these things, their existence would be drastically reduced, right?

So it’s wonderful that people brake for those things!

In a similar way, our willingness to brake break for creativity will help it thrive, too!

The Creative State

Do you ever notice how, when you wake up in the morning, you’re in a super intuitive and creative space? That’s when a lot of exciting ideas come flooding in. You’re inspired.

This also happens when you’re relaxed and not in “thinking mode”, e.g. taking a walk, relaxing in a warm bath, driving long deserted stretches, etc.

In those cases, you’re not actively thinking … You’re more or less receiving. Your antennae are out there tuning into ideas that weren’t within your scope until then.

You’re connecting with that field of all possibilities … with your Source.

Touching in periodically with that space of no-mind puts you in that same state.

And that’s where your power, creativity, and intuitive wisdom reside.

Today we’re going to open to that space intentionally. And as you practice this one simple activity, both your creativity and intuition will get stronger and will grow day by day.

Today: Break for Creativity

Whenever you think of it, take a moment to break from what you are doing and simply be here now.

When you do this, let go of actively thinking and use all your senses. Look around and see what’s going on in your environment. Hear the birds singing? Feel the breeze on your arm? Notice any scents? Do you have any tastes in your mouth?

Do a quick scan from head to toe: What does your body feel like physically? How are you feeling emotionally?

And now, without focusing on any particular thing, just allow your attention to wander.

Is there any thought that pops into this empty space you are creating? Or anything you seem to just know? Note all of these things.

Taking these mini-breaks gives your creativity a little space to breathe.

More often than not, this will in turn lead to great ideas, inspiration, and yes, even intuition about what you were doing that you wouldn’t have had otherwise.

As you do this periodically, you’ll benefit from these brief “re-groupings” and you’ll notice that a wonderful clarity remains with you go about your day.

There will be space between your thoughts for ideas and inspiration to enter your awareness.

Those ideas are coming from your essence, and opening to them keeps you on track to fulfill your deepest dreams.

Do you believe? In something? In anything?

“Believe!” seems to be a popular maxim these days.

But let’s think about it a minute.

What is a belief?

It’s something that one accepts as true or real; a firmly held opinion or conviction.

Yes, firmly held.

There was a time when it was a commonly held belief that the world was flat. People felt they “knew” this. But was it true? We know now that it wasn’t, contrary to all evidence.

Is this computer screen you’re looking at solid? Not really. It’s composed of much more space than solid matter. In fact, it’s up for grabs whether anything solid actually even exists at all.

A lot of people don’t believe in psychic phenomena, or energy healing, even in the face of proof. So even if they experience it, they’ll write it off as something else. Do you see how they are limiting their experience of life? And limiting their options?

And we actively reinforce our beliefs.

It’s human nature to look for proof of what we already believe. How many politically active people do you know who read the columns of those on the other side of the fence, with an open mind? Typically, we read or listen to those whom we’re already in agreement with, to reinforce our “proof” that our point of view is correct.

Now, it’s apparent that some beliefs can be truly helpful. If they weren’t, we wouldn’t have such helpful results as are provided by the placebo effect, for example.

But a lot of beliefs are harmful. If you believe in something negative, you’ll continue to strengthen that reality’s likelihood of showing up in your life. You’ll see what you expect to see. This happens even with subconscious beliefs, such as “I’m not good enough”, or “I have bad genes”.

These beliefs become rigid patterns at our energetic levels and then they manifest difficulties.

But in either case, positive or negative, whenever you believe in something, you’re strengthening duality, not one-ness.

It’s like you’re drawing a circle around some part of what you perceive of as reality, and declaring that everything outside it is not true, or can’t exist. Ever.

By definition, belief is limiting.

And if we believe there’s no such thing as — for example — magic or miracles, we’re not as likely to experience them.

But wouldn’t you rather have a mind opened by wonder than closed by belief?

Can you see the value in opening to new possibilities?

Today, let’s open our minds by playing with the concept of belief a bit. Let’s loosen its hold on us.

Things change. We change — if we allow it. Maybe something’s shown itself to seem true in the past, but what if we open to a new possibility?

What if we allow this moment to speak for itself, without any restrictions? And if we must believe, then let’s at least allow for some free play.

Loosen your grip on belief … or rather, its grip on you!

Today, see if you can catch yourself whenever you think or say or write “I believe …”.

Or notice if certain reactions or actions you take are based on a belief.

If you do spot a belief, be aware that at some level you are choosing that belief.

Is that belief helping you? Is it limiting you?

Are you still open to ideas that might not fit that belief?

If so, take a moment to see if you can loosen its hold on you.

Instead of “I believe …”, say to yourself:

  • “I choose to think …”
  • “It’s possible (or probable) that …” (and here, include the opposite as well; see if that makes sense)
  • “I choose to act as if … “
  • “I theorize that … “
  • “Right now, it seems to me that … “
  • “This isn’t serving me or anyone. Maybe it’s possible that …”

Any of these will help you be open in the moment.

You’ll often find that you don’t really see it to be true right then.

Loosening its hold or actually questioning it opens a space for a new possibility.

Best of all, you’ll be willing and able to see something new.

So, why not let your NOW be alive, to reveal what it will?

Why not open yourself to its gifts?

Awareness + IntuitionOne of the main elements of being conscious is that of awareness. And it’s not any special or tricky kind of awareness. It’s simply awareness.

And here’s the best part: We obviously all have an ability to be aware, at least those of us who are conscious beings (and I assume you consider yourself a part of that group)!

In fact, we cannot help but be aware — of something!

By refining and expanding upon this one simple quality, your consciousness — and intuition, too — will grow exponentially. Yet if it goes unnoticed, you’ll manage, but without the benefit of an integral part of your inborn guidance system.

We can even go so far as to say that operating without a broadened awareness is a handicap that most people are living with.

If you begin to play with being aware, it will become blatantly obvious that there is a lot of information available to you all the time that normally you simply just don’t notice. Or if you notice it, you don’t pay it any mind.

We are often so focused on the task at hand — which usually involves thinking about something rather than participating in the moment — that there is not even a little crack for awareness of anything else to enter.

3 Steps to Expanded Awareness

Here are 3 simple steps you can do immediately that will help you expand your awareness.

1. Intend

Intention goes a long way. This is such a simple and easy action that it’s easy to overlook the power of it. But taking a moment to set an intention can make all the difference.

So, intend to be aware and intend to notice. This will help whatever’s relevant come to your attention even when your attention is on other things.

Hint: It sometimes helps to set your intention to notice something that serves a purpose. So, for example, you might say “I intend to notice anything that might be helpful to me today”, or “I intend to notice something that will delight me today”, etc.

You can repeat this periodically but even once is better than not at all.

2. Notice deliberately

Short practices expand your consciousness and strengthen your intuitive muscles, too.

Take time periodically to:

a. Notice that you are aware, and

b. Notice what you are aware of

This will be interesting in itself, but you’ll also find that you will now be more consciously aware even when you’re not doing this noticing intentionally.

This brings what you are already aware of at a subtle level into the foreground. When we don’t do this, the awareness remains at a subconscious level, where it can do things like make you feel uncomfortable but you don’t know why.

Some of these new awarenesses will be practical observations that you would otherwise miss but which you can now tend to. If your body is cramped, get up and move around or take a good stretch! Thirsty? Get a drink of water! Slightly upset? What’s going on?

3. Remain open to surprises.

The more aware you are, the more you begin to notice things that you’re not expecting at all.

Staying open to surprises will help you not simply see only what you would expect to, but also those new things that your mind would automatically dismiss.

Expect the unexpected! It helps you notice it, which is half the fun.

So these are but a few of the many exercises you can do to increase your awareness.

They’re intended to open some new channels in your habitual modes of experiencing.

You may not get any big a-ha‘s at first, but if you practice them enough, you’ll find your awareness and intuition opening up in exciting, new ways.

Here’s to your expansion!

Patti

What did you intend to notice? Did you? Any surprises? Or what’s YOUR favorite way of expanding your awareness? Do share!

Kinslow System: Your Path to Proven Success in Health, Love, and Life by Dr. Frank J. Kinslow is an impressive book. I’m sure it will continue to add to my life, and hopefully — with this review — to yours, too!

First of all, this system works, and it’s simple, stream-lined, and almost effortless to use.

I’ve never been to one of Dr. Kinslow’s seminars and just using his book(s) was all I needed to really try his system out. And even though I do practice various forms of Quantum Consciousness (QC) technology (of which the Kinslow System is one), I’m sure the book would have been sufficient even if I knew nothing about QC.

That says a lot.

Content

Dr. Kinslow starts off giving you all the basics, moves into applying them, and ends with specific applications and examples of how you can apply the system in various areas of your life.

And it’s not dry theory. There are lots of exercises (most are nice, quick ones — don’t worry!) and if you prefer listening rather than reading the steps, he even references some audios that are available for free download which guide you through some of the more important exercises.

Writing Style

I really love Dr. Kinslow’s writing style. He explains things extremely well and at the same time is very engaging. He sprinkles in bits of uplifting humor here and there, and you feel like he’s right there with you, carrying you along effortlessly.

It’s an easy and enjoyable read.

How it Fits With His Other Books

He’s written several other books over the years as he’s developed his comprehensive system. I’ve read a few of them, and although I liked them, too, this book seems to have it all.

From what I can tell, The Kinslow System really does explain the whole system. He seems to have refined his previous explanations and includes new material as well.

If you want just one of his books, this is the one to get. And if you already have several but would like a nice, comprehensive summary, then I think you’d be glad to have it.

Disclaimer: I received this book for free from Hay House Publishing for review purposes, yet you can rest assured that this review reflects my honest evaluation.

Have you read this book? (And were you already familiar with QC technology?) What did you think?

Patti

By the way, you can read my article in the recent multi-media edition of OM Times Magazine exactly about this topic (of QC)!

New Quantum Consciousness Technology – A Primer

You’ll find it on page 208.

Om - heart spaceIn our society, the rational mind rules. From the time we were children, we’ve been encouraged to “use our heads”, “be sensible”, and “think it through”.

This is fine except that it’s been at the exclusion of using our other more expansive faculties, such as intuition, gut feeling, or our holistic “sense” of a situation.

It’s much more wholesome and effective to use both.

But we’re not generally trained or even encouraged to access those more intuitive parts of ourselves. The part of our being that just knows. The part that sees the whole picture all at once.

When your awareness is centered in your heart area, you have much better access to that all-knowing part of yourself. You enter an open state of consciousness and your awareness expands.

The good news is that it’s actually quite simple to “drop down” from your head to your heart center. And here’s an easy way to do that.

3 Steps to Expanded Awareness

You can read and do it yourself, but I recommend this 3 minute audio that guides you through it.

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

It helps in the beginning to do this with your eyes closed:

  1. Take a deep breath and as you do so, place your attention where your thoughts are (usually in the center of your head).
  2. Begin to exhale slowly and as you do so, drop your shoulders as you fully relax.
  3. Now as you finish exhaling, immediately drop one more level by moving your attention from your head down to your heart area.

Do you feel the difference? Feel how still and quiet it is? Then you’re “there”.

Gently hold your attention there awhile. There’s no need to try to get a sense of anything. In fact, it’s best to simply notice the stillness.

If you can’t tell a difference from your normal state of awareness, then repeat the steps again very slowly. Pay close attention to the subtle goings on “inside”.

Notice that even though you took certain steps, when you’re accessing this state, you’re not actually doing anything.

You’re being.

It’s that simple state of being that we’re after.

The more you do this, the more you’ll notice that your awareness is indeed expanded. It may feel at the time like nothing at all is happening, but believe me: This is where the *magic* lives!

Thanks for reading!

Until next time,

Patti

Did you notice a difference or experience the silence? Can you put into words what it felt like to you?

Today’s post is a slight variation of the Day 6 exercise I created for the OM Times 30-Day Conscious Living Challenge:

The challenge participants have been pure delight (I look forward every day to checking in) :-D, and are contributing immensely to the challenge discussions with their great comments and feedback.

“There was stillness, peace and no thought; just a watchful awareness, though I was still aware observing.”

“I was in both places, but the feeling of being in the heart & being aware of the thoughts being processed elsewhere gave me a feeling of respite. A sigh of relief! It felt like I was leaving the city of ‘thoughts’ & moving away to the sub-suburbs or country side of the ‘heart center’.”

It’s not too late to join us! Come visit my ABC challenge forum — we’re having fun!

[So far we’ve done A for Awareness, B for Believe (Not!), C for Creativity, D for Drop Down, E for Eagle Eyes, F for Focus, G for Gaia, and H for Holistic. Today we do I for Intuition … and you’ll have to join us to discover the rest!]

May 232013

Wow. I have been on quite the writing frenzy lately. You wouldn’t know it from my blog … But you will be able to access all the “good stuff” that I’ve been preparing in just 9 short days.

It was an interesting experience. I had an intense schedule which is unusual for me.

Stress!

Partway in, I was fortunate to notice that I was not approaching my daily tasks with a sense of joy. I mean, I was excited about all I wanted to share but I fell behind almost immediately so there was an overlay of pressure, and because of that, the dreaded “S” word: Stress.

For some reason — I can only call it grace, with a bit of conditioning thrown in — one morning it dawned on me that I didn’t have to do it that way. That there was a much MUCH better way!

It was time to practice what I preach — and ironically, exactly what I was writing about!

A Conscious Approach

And so, I backed off.

I took some time to BE.

And BEing is so powerful! This only took a few minutes and I knew what I had to do, or rather “how” I wanted to do!

Each of us will have our favorite ways of being conscious about what we’re doing (or how we’re doing it), but here are the 3 things that helped me the most.

1. Ritual

This sounds so simple but made a huge difference. I did all my futzing, and when I was ready to sit down and focus for some period of time, I rang my chime. (You could just as easily light a candle, say a prayer, or anything else you feel called to do.)

It signaled that it was time to focus and be purposeful. It was a boundary of sorts, and I honored that.

Just as importantly, it sounds beautiful and I always love to ring it. That alone calls in nothing short of a sacred space that feels wonderful!

As I listened to its vibration fade away, I essentially set my intention to express what it was that wanted to be expressed through me.

2. Touch In

So what was it exactly, that wanted to be expressed through me?

I touched in with my essence and explored that question.

I always got an answer. Note that this is very different than thinking about it or figuring it out. It’s not a (predominantly) mental process.

There were often several options and they always felt good.

3. Play

This one was important!

And again, ironically, you almost have to let go of “importance” in order to play!

By this I mean a “lightspirited” approach. Allowing the energy to flow, and at the same time letting go of a need for any particular results.

When I had two (or more) ideas for the same concept, I would choose the one that felt the most fun.

This is not frivolous. To the contrary, we’re paying attention to the “voice” of the light and the life within us, indicating our best path. It will be the most rewarding and the most effective.

Pretty soon, I was in a rhythm, and an enjoyable rhythm at that.

It wasn’t long before I was not only caught up, but even ahead of schedule. I ended up submitting my 30 articles a day ahead of time, and in a relaxed, easy frame of mind. Yay!

Here’s to living consciously – the only way to be!

Patti

So, how do you turn it around? From stress, to joy? I’d love to hear!

And that project I was working on? It’s the OM Times 30 Day Conscious Living Challenge in which I’m delighted and *honored* to be one of the experts!

The challenge I’m hosting is The ABC’s of Actively Being Conscious. We have fun going through the alphabet, each day learning one more conscious living skill.

A very cool thing about this — besides that it’s FREE — is that it’s all interactive! I’ll be on hand to answer any questions and/or work with you on an individual basis as you proceed through the challenge. You can also interact with others doing the challenge as well as other Experts and people doing their challenges. (In fact, you can do as many challenges as you have time and energy for!)

Today, I have an exciting announcement.

At least, it’s exciting to me —  and I think to you, too!

OM Times online magazine and website is hosting a 30 Day Conscious Living Challenge: Renew Your Soul, throughout June.

And I am very excited to be their Quantum Consciousness expert!

I’ll be providing OM Times with one of the many tracks you can follow if you want to challenge yourself to live more consciously.

The track I’ve created is The ABC’s of Actively Being Conscious — and notice that it even fits in with the “Open State” series I’ve been posting here recently. (Because actively being conscious, the way I practice it, does include entering the Open State.)

For each track, there will be a new article each day for all 30 days. (And boy oh boy, I have been super busy preparing all of them!)

I’ll post access information as we get closer to the challenge so you can follow my track if you’d like. And there will be lots of other fascinating tracks for you as well.

For now, you can go to the OM Times 30 Day Challenge page for more information.

It’s going to be great so please help spread the word (buttons below). Thank you!

From Reveal: A Sacred Manual for Getting Spiritually Naked, by Meggan Watterson:

“The world of magic and of love that I secretly believed in was all around me, a part of me and a part of what it is to be human. As terrifying as it was to believe … I knew the time had come to surrender to the truth that I have the power to conjure what my soul longs for most.”

I really liked this book — a lot.

As a woman, I always enjoy learning about and applying ideas related to the Divine Feminine. It’s a rich and fascinating area.

I had the impression that’s what this book was about. As I eagerly cracked it open, I saw that it was.

And it’s also so much more.

Lift the veil that shrouds your strangeness. Dare to see how powerful you are.

The Divine Feminine

As a master theologian and scholar of the Divine Feminine, Meggan is able to share way more about this rich subject than I could possibly get into right here. I very much enjoyed the breadth of information she shared about all the various “incarnations” of the Divine Feminine.

I found it very interesting, and although she made her points about it, she did it in such a way that it often left me wanting even more.

Fortunately she cites various books and provides lots of references that we can follow up on for further reading.

Meggan’s Journey

What I didn’t expect is that Meggan’s journey would be so expertly interwoven into that information. Not only the stories of her pilgrimages (which were really interesting) but also her own inner journeys as she discovered the Divinity within herself.

I really loved this aspect of the book and was able to identify. It’s really fun to be able to connect my experiences with the symbology and actuality of what the famous icons of the Divine Feminine represent.

It keeps the reading interesting and even though you’re learning a lot about the Divine Feminine as it’s existed throughout the ages, you’re always relating it to now and what it means to you in your life.

Our Own Divine Feminine

And yet, Meggan takes it even another step farther.

The book is laid out in a way that we are peeled like an onion. Or rather, that “the veils” are lifted in succession. The subtitle is, after all: A Sacred Manual for Getting Spiritually Naked.

And it really is about embracing and honoring ourselves as women, and as spirit. As the Divine, and the Feminine.

The true human can remember the Divine within and use that consciousness to help create reality through the infinite grace and power of the “I Am.”

The 7 veils she helps remove are related to:

  • Our stories
  • Our bodies
  • Our soul-voice
  • Our worth
  • Our inner mystic
  • Our soul-work
  • Our spiritual community

In several of these chapters, I found myself highlighting almost everything!

I especially liked the soul-voice and soul-work chapters. They are both so rich in ideas and inspiration that we can apply meaningfully in these areas of our lives.

Meggan is masterful at making a genuine connection with your heart, so you really “get”, at a deep level, what she’s saying. She also includes beautiful transcendent poetry which, like her words, can reach out from the page and touch you.

We all have encounters with the sacred. We just have to cultivate the eye that can perceive them. We have to see what’s already here, interwoven with what we claim is human and mundane. We have to take inventory of the magic that conspires to love us in and through our ordinary lives.

So really, what you’ve got here, is:

  • This wonderfully rich source of interesting and relevant information
  • Meggan’s fascinating stories that go along with it and illuminate the principles
  • Compelling examples and ideas you can actually use to more fully enjoy your own spiritual journey and take it as deep as you dare.

It’s time to stop investing in the limits we’ve identified with and start believing in the impossible, the ineffable, that lives in and through us all the time. It’s time to come out of the spiritual closet. We need to let our own mystery breathe. It’s time to unlock the chains we have placed on the most magical aspect of our being and let our inner mystic go for a walk around the neighborhood in broad daylight.

This book, like the author, is a true celebration of the feminine … Divine or otherwise.

I highly recommend it.

(All quotes from  Reveal: A Sacred Manual for Getting Spiritually Naked, by Meggan Watterson.)

Life is your playground! This really is the most important thing I could possibly say.

But bear with me, as it’s a whole different paradigm than most people live by.

When you know who and what you truly are, in your essence, you will realize that you are not at stake here in this life.

That frees you to simply enjoy it, challenges and all.

I know. I’ve been through some major challenges, the most recent being a major financial loss. It could have been devastating but for this new way of BEing that I picked up along the way.

Presence, or the Open State

It’s about living in Presence, one experience of what I call the Open State.

If you’ve followed Eckhart Tolle, you may have an idea what Presence is.

But I also think that many of us (because I did it in the beginning, too) have a shallow understanding of what Presence actually is.

It’s NOT simply being in the moment in the sense of experiencing what’s in front of you right then, although that’s a helpful way to finally get to it.

It’s not even just about practicing mindfulness – that’s more a way to enjoy and “play” (which I’ll talk more about below).

It’s about going a level deeper than that.

It’s about BEing in that moment fully and to such a degree that you are aware of your immortal nature.

You become aware of the space or silence or stillness that Eckhart refers to.

You become aware of the still field that is omnipresent, existing throughout all things.

The field that you ARE.

The awareness that you ARE.

Once you’ve experienced this, you just know that you are not threatened by anything happening “out there” (more on “out there” later ;-)). You are not helped by it, nor are you harmed by it.

And then, as you experience it more and more, this knowing becomes a part of who you are as a personality, and you begin to live much more in peace.

In joy, ease, and lightness.

Fear begins to melt away.

The love that you are in essence begins to express, naturally, as compassion for everything and everyone, for you know that it is all YOU.

And you don’t just know or believe it intellectually. You know it through and through.

Then you’ll begin to see that this you, this essence that exists prior to manifestation, is what unfolds or emerges AS as your life, including you as a thinking, acting human being. (This is the level at which we work and play during a Holographic Emergence™ session. This you, and these subtle layers that are the blueprint for what manifests.)

But still, YOU are not affected by it in any way. Not really.

And you know this.

Which frees you to play with it, no matter how your mind might judge it.

You get to fully experience lila, or Divine play. (For you are Divine! :-))

And you experience your life as one giant playground, full of all kinds of new experiences!

Help Along the Way: Amazing Resources

I’ve come to this over time primarily with the remarkable guidance of 2 enlightened beings.

1) Eckhart Tolle. I can’t recommend his work enough. I’ve read his books several times, each time getting something deeper and richer. I listen to his audios over and over, again hearing or absorbing exactly what’s needed to keep me moving each day toward this state of BEing.

2) John Sherman. His work at River Ganga is extraordinary. Without him, I don’t think I’d have really gotten even what Eckhart offers. His teaching is one-pointed, i.e. Look at Yourself. It’s through this extremely simple practice that I have really grokked who/what I am. I mean really, really got it, to the core. I no longer simply experienced the stillness. It became clear that that is what I AM, and that stillness is ultra-aware. It’s pure consciousness. It’s awareness. It’s me.

Both Eckhart and John illuminate in a new and accessible way what the Eastern Masters have been saying for millennia. I spent quite a long time immersed in Eastern philosophy. The world they so beautifully describe is nothing short of heaven on earth. (Have you ever read the Upanishads? They’re breathtakingly beautiful!) I’ve meditated for decades and meditation is, of course, helpful.

But it wasn’t until I became aware of these two and dove deeply into their teachings that I was able to actually access it; to benefit in a meaningful and profound way, and to really begin to become more consciously this Light that we all are.

A Path, not a Destination

I’m still growing. I don’t consider myself an enlightened master – yet. 😉

The good news is you don’t have to be at the summit to experience extraordinary benefits.

Little by little we become more and more conscious of who and what we are.

And little by little, we emerge as our true, authentic, essence. And this unfolding is rich and satisfying.

No matter what.

Namasté,

Patti

When I took my first Matrix Energetics seminar back in 2007, it became really clear that the foundation for being able to facilitate transformation was being able to enter what they called “the state”, our subjective experience of accessing the Zero-Point Field.

There was a lot of confusion around that, and at the time, they didn’t go into much detail about it.

The good thing was that just being in such a large group (about 300), with Richard Bartlett as the lead, you somehow got into it by osmosis.

So we actually got there, even with very little specific instruction.

First Experiences

I knew I was in the state mainly because I was able to facilitate change for practice partners during our experiential segments.

My being in the state would also explain why the ceiling in my hotel room kept moving around like a wave that night (and I am not kidding).

I also noticed (although it’s hard to describe) my analytical mind having to clamber its way to the surface when someone asked me a practical question on day 3 of my first seminar. It was a little bit like how you sense your reality solidifying as you wake up from a dream.

But once we all returned to our respective homes and wanted to be able to do it on our own, it became more imperative that we have a clear sense of it.

So what the heck was this state, actually? And how could we get into it on our own?

First Lone Attempts

After returning home, my confidence evaporated. Not completely, but significantly.

To keep the momentum going, I participated in a lot of Matrix Energetics tele-seminars, a few in-person classes, and frequent practice get-togethers, some of them about the state.

We were taught more about how to intensify the state, with a few more suggestions about how to get into the state, but still the instructions were vague and not very clear about what, exactly, we were doing.

And like in the seminars, there was little if anything about what the state actually was, or even how to know if we were “in” it. At home, the sense of it didn’t (always) knock me over the head like it did during the seminar.

So I wasn’t quite as sure I was really there.

And I wasn’t the only one. There continued to be a lot of confusion on the part of just about everyone I knew who was practicing it.

I’ve noticed that nowadays, Richard and his new partner Melissa talk about entering the state as accessing the “field of the heart”. (And even when I learned Matrix Energetics, there was a lot of talk about “dropping down” into the heart.)

But that means different things to different people. And although that may be one way to access a version of it, that still doesn’t fully illuminate what it is or how to consistently “get there”.

Discovery!

Well, as I said, that was 6 years ago, and since then I’ve done a lot of my own investigation, experimentation, and discovery.

The good news is there are a lot of ways to get into the state that work — although some better than others.

There are also a lot of versions of being in the state — again, some more effective than others.

But in retrospect, I can’t help thinking that maybe the reason it wasn’t clarified more is because just sorta-kinda being in it is often good enough.

Really!

So what I’ve found to be true for me is that rather than try to pin it down, it’s best to just play at it.

A lot.

The Open State via an Open Mind

Because there are so many versions of this state, I’ve decided to refer to it here as the Open State, which seems to fit all of its expressions (that I know of, so far ;-)).

It’s very experiential, with some common threads between people, yet some experiences that are unique. And not just unique to each individual, but often from one occasion to another.

I actually think that it’s beneficial to not go into it with expectations of how to best get there … and what it will be like when you do.

It may be that what works for you today will not work very well tomorrow.

It may be that what works best for you is just okay or ineffective for me, or vice versa.

I’ve noticed that feeling your way into it in the moment, and allowing a communion with it is all you need to do! With practice it becomes more and more easily accessible.

Allow the state of consciousness of doing nothing to become available to you and make it your trusted friend. Consciously spend some time and energy constructing this state in advance, knowing that often nothing happens at just the right time and that everything happens when nothing is being consciously done.

The less you do, the more power you can gain access to. When you are trying to do something or make something happen, you are “doing” with your limited awareness of what can be done. When you are in the tide and flow of events, you are no longer resisting their quantum potential benefits. Now anything is possible and many miraculous things become more likely.

~ Richard Bartlett, The Physics of Miracles

In upcoming articles I’ll be elaborating on these various “versions” of how I’ve come to understand and experience what I now call the Open State.

I’ll do my best to explain it in a way that you can either understand or actually do.

It is a little challenging to talk about because we’re referring to a state of consciousness, and often our language just doesn’t have the words. But that’s okay, because it’s not an explaining or understanding kind of thing.

It’s purely experiential, but I’ll offer a little guidance to light your way.

I’ll also explain how the Open State is beneficial — actually, critical — for facilitating transformation (in the form of Holographic Emergence™, my transformative service based mainly on my Matrix Energetics skills).

And I’ll show how I use it in my everyday life as well as how you can use it for your own “Emergence” into the person and life of your dreams — unencumbered and magnificently expressed!

Until then … Namasté,

Patti

Frozen Shoulder - Healed!Welcome to the 2nd article in my new series about the Open State.

(Click here for the first article which introduces the series and covers why the heck you should even care about the Open State.)

★   ★   ★

I want to start with something kind of fun and amazing!

I’m going to show with an example why you want to care about this.

It involves a complete healing of my frozen shoulder.

I’m also including the audio from a private session I did on myself.

So you’ll not only see the usefulness of the Open State, but also open your mind to what’s possible, a super-helpful frame of mind to be in to really make use of the Open State.

If you haven’t been reading along up until now, you might enjoy perusing my last set of articles about the value and importance of an open mind.

It really is a prerequisite for making use of the Open State — at least when it comes to facilitating magic and miracles! (And who wouldn’t want to do that?)

If you can’t believe in *magical* possibilities, you’re not as likely to manifest them.
Open to the Possibilities and Emerge!

Can you let go of what you think you know and open your mind wide to all the possibilities?
Let Magic Be Your New Normal

This is about the dance between and open mind and the Open State, and how they both enhance each other.
Dance Your Way to an Expanded Reality

And here are some of my favorite books that can help immensely.
10 Books to Blow Your Mind Wide Open

Wow, You Really Healed Your Frozen Shoulder?

Actually … no.

Note I don’t say that “I” healed my shoulder. I simply accessed “The Field” (by entering the Open State) and let it do the rest.

Here’s the background.

Awhile back, I’d developed what’s known as a “frozen shoulder”, although I didn’t think about it that way. (Richard Bartlett says when we hook into a diagnosis, it’s like a curse. Think about it. You sort of set it in stone as your reality.)

I could barely lift it to be parallel to the ground, and for awhile, not even that. This was as good as it got, even after numerous intensive treatments by professionals. They had essentially given up on any significant improvement without expensive, ongoing physical therapy or surgery.

So that sets the stage, in a nutshell.

How the Healing Unfolded

Since I’ve already written about my healing process as it occurred, I’m listing the articles that contain the details.

Together these articles reveal the key to how it finally healed 100% using the Open State. (Search each one for “shoulder” to see what was going on at the time.)

They also have useful information and exercises you can apply right now.

This first might be outside your comfort zone about what our bodies even are, but it’s one of my very favorite posts. Even I still refer to it from time to time. 😉 Open your mind to the idea that our bodies may not be a “solid” thing. It has lots of great quotes by Deepak Chopra.
Your Magical Mind, Magical Body

Here’s a holistic view of what was going on with my shoulder. I took advantage of some amazing signs, synchronicities, and even a channeled message. They all played a part in some powerful guidance that helped get me on a healing track.
Does Your Guidance Have to Scream to Get Your Attention?

In this post I only mention it along with other things I’ve used Emergence for. I’m including it because you can see where the Open State fits into the entire Emergence process which is nicely summarized. (Pay attention to the section ”The Field” which is where I talk about “the state” which is what I now call the Open State. Toward the end is a link to a popular post that guides you into the Open State.
Activate Magic and Miracles With Me!

Here’s one where I use the “Magic Mirror” tool (suggested by my channeling guide) with much success — in fact my shoulder completed its healing as a result of this work, I’m sure of it. This post also tells exactly how you can do this too.
Heal Your Paired Body Part :: The Magic Mirror Tool

A Private Healing Session

And now … I’m sharing an audio with you of one of my private sessions with myself so you can get a feel for what transpires.

It was one of just a few sessions with my shoulder.

At that point, I could only lift my left arm about 45-90 degrees (so at best just parallel to the floor).

I was guided to stand in front of the mirror and do a session on “that person in the mirror” (oui, c’est moi!) as if for someone else.

You’ll hear me mention a two-point which is a Matrix Energetics technique.

I also have what I call “healing burps”. These started when I learned to channel and are indications that things are being processed and are shifting/healing.

Also, at one point (maybe two) you’ll hear me get suddenly emotional. That’s not uncommon and again, just shows that things are moving.

Listen below, or click here if you’re reading this in email.

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

In the audio, I refer to two books. Just FYI,

• When I talk about giving to the universe vs. taking — and using the mirror as part of an exercise for that — I’m referring to something I learned from The Presence Process by Michael Brown. It’s an excellent book that walks you through a powerful process.

• And then, I mention a book that my eyes fall upon during the session. It’s Byron Katie’s A Thousand Names for Joy, and one of my all-time favorites.

So … I hope the combination of reviewing the story of my healed – yes, healed! – shoulder along with listening to the session itself has opened your eyes to:

1. What’s possible, and

2. How the Open State (which is the foundation for Holographic Emergence™) is super useful!

Until next time … Namasté,

Patti

The Open State is the answer to everything, IMHO.

I think it’s what my life here is all about.

I’m about to launch a series of posts on the Open State, starting next week.

Let me give you an idea of what it’s about so you’ll know if you want to check back in.

The Open State

First, what is the Open State?

Really, it’s BEing who or what we are, in essence. In the series, I’ll talk more about what I mean by this and how you can get there yourself.

Second, what’s the value in it?

In a nutshell, I think the answer is two-fold.

One, it’s a powerful foundation for manifesting. It’s the state that is fundamental to my Holographic Emergence™ practice which is about tweaking how things manifest. In a broader sense, it’s a way to live, or rather to BE, so that life on this plane manifests beautifully as you go.

I mention this first because so many of you are focused on how to manifest consciously. And so am I. But I see this as something we are here to “play” with. And having that attitude of play rather than need comes naturally right along with it.

Secondly, and most importantly, it allows you to enjoy life, no matter what. It’s somewhat akin to moksha, or the spiritual liberation that many of the Eastern masters speak of. So even when our life situation is not to our liking, we have a sense of the bigger picture and do not feel threatened in any way.

I’m an avid “student”** of Eckhart Tolle, and one of his quotes from The Power of Now that recently “appeared” in my life again is this:

The Joy Of Being

To alert you that you have allowed yourself to be taken over by psychological time, you can use a simple criterion. Ask yourself: Is there joy, ease, and lightness in what I am doing? If there isn’t, then time is covering up the present moment, and life is perceived as a burden or a struggle.

He goes on to explain:

If there is no joy, ease, or lightness in what you are doing, it does not necessarily mean that you need to change what you are doing. It may be sufficient to change the how. “How” is always more important than “what.

In other words, are you living in the Open State?

I made the image at the top of this post to use as one of my desktop backgrounds, for when I want a reminder to check in. Feel free to download it (right-click on it and save image as …) and use it if you’d like.

So that’s a quick over-view and if you find it intriguing at all, I hope you’ll come back – and please let your friends know about the series, too!

More Joy, Ease, and Lightness

And speaking of joy, ease, and lightness: It’s spring here in New Mexico and the hummingbirds usually return around now. I just love their spirit and to me they represent such joy and lightness (even though they fight like the dickens sometimes) — the same way I would describe my own sense of BEing when I’m living in the Open State. I like to let them be harbingers of that for me.

So on that light note, I want to share this one-minute video with you. It makes me smile. 🙂 (And notice how one of them is sitting on my finger. I was thrilled!)

I hope you have a *wonder-ful* Easter.

May it be

a new beginning

where you emerge

as the joy, ease, and lightness

that you are!

** I put “student” in quotes because Tolle also says (again, in The Power of Now):

I am not teaching you. You are consciousness, and you are listening to yourself.

Yes!

Aren’t we amazing?!

Until next time … Lots of blessings,

Patti

emerge into springHappy Spring!

Last year around this time, I did a Spring Activation (a group Holographic Emergence™ session) to help jumpstart our new growth.

Before we did the session, I talked about how I envision Emergence as it relates to our Divine template or to us as a seed of sorts.

To welcome spring, I want to share these ideas with you in this short, live audio which is the introduction to that Activation.

Enjoy!

Do you want to blast your mind wide open but still remain practical? Are you finally ready to get out of your rut?

Then E-Squared: Nine Do-It-Yourself Energy Experiments That Prove Your Thoughts Create Your Reality by Pam Grout is the book for you.

You’ll even come away with some useful “tricks” to use in your everyday life for manifesting what you want.

“Seeing with your own two eyes that you can change reality simply by observing it will rewire your brain and divest you from old conditioning. Learning, through scientific experimentation, how deeply you are connected to the field of potentiality will literally set you free.”

~ All quotes by Pam Grout, E-Squared

First, I’m already on-board with the concepts presented in this book. I’ve been practicing and living them for quite some time now.

They really are valid and they really do work.

But I was still attracted to this book because I was curious to see if there was something new here, and above all, I thought it would be fun to do some experiments.

E-Squared did not disappoint.

Fresh Writing Style

I loved Pam’s writing style, it’s so fun and easy to read. She’s down-to-earth and quite funny. Besides being informative and revealing, E-Squared is entertaining and enjoyable.

And for aspiring writers (oui, c’est moi), it’s a superb example of using voice and analogy to get your point across. Very refreshing!

It’s also a great example of making concepts that could be merely theoretical into exercises you can apply in a useful way.

Energy and Consciousness

A lot of the experiments (all simple, easy, and fun) work with energy and the Law of Attraction.

But you also work with some underlying principles that are even more subtle, related to the Zero Point Field (of quantum physics) and consciousness itself.

It’s a nice mixture.

In fact, reality is nothing but waves of possibility that we have “observed” into form.

Logic and Openness

It’s also a perfect balance of left-brained logic and right-brained openness.

For each experiment, Pam offers a premise and the background facts are presented. You’ll enjoy some great quotes and references, along with ideas for further reading.

This is typically followed by some fascinating stories that are offered as anecdotal evidence, and to which you will definitely relate.

She then lays out the experiment for you to perform complete with a lab sheet that summarizes it nicely and which you use to keep yourself on track and note your results.

So fun!

Effectiveness and Validity

I can’t say that every experiment “worked” for me. And some I haven’t taken the time to do fully yet.

But a lot of them worked like a charm and it was fun watching them unfold into my life.

I did notice, though, that even when I didn’t get the results I wanted or expected, doing the experiment was revealing in some way and still worth my time. Usually, it was because I was not focused or consistent enough with it, or because my own energy was muddled in some way. Without the experiments, I wouldn’t have understood that so clearly.

It’s imperative to practice conscious, moment-by-moment awareness. Otherwise, you’re operating out of old encrusted beliefs, beliefs you downloaded before you were five years old. Do you really want a five-year-old running your life?

So in every case I learned some good lessons to apply as I move forward.

E-Squared: Recommended!

I definitely recommend this spirited book. Pam’s natural sparkle uplifts throughout and makes the whole experience a positive one.

I also think it would make a great gift for friends you might have who are “on the fence”. 😉

If you play with these ideas and exercises like the author suggests, it will open your eyes to some new possibilities — especially if you’re new to this, but even if you’re not.

Have you read this book? I’d love for you to leave a comment and let us know how it was for you! Or do you have any questions about it? Ask away!

Are you ready to expand your mind?

Are you willing to let go of your most cherished beliefs?

If not, then
read no further!

This post might threaten your sense of knowing how life works.

In my last few articles, I wrote about letting go of preconceived ideas, and letting go of beliefs.

Depending on your background and where you are now, that may be easy or it may be challenging.

In either case, I want to share some of the books I’ve read (and love) that can help with that, and that I know you’ll enjoy.

And they will open your mind to the possibilities!

Books for the Brave

Here are some books that present some truly radical models to play with.

It’s certainly not all of them, but it’s a good start.

1. The Field by Lynne McTaggart

Lynne is a lay person who writes understandably about a variety of scientific principles and findings. This book is engrossing and focuses on the area of the zero-point field (which is relevant to my process during a Holographic Emergence™ session).

2. Busting Loose From the Money Game by Robert Scheinfeld

Besides being fascinating and fun to read, this book will turn your idea of how things work inside-out. It’s especially relevant to how we work with abundance and prosperity, but is easily applied to any area of life. Find out if you’re playing the wrong game, and how to play the real one.

3 & 4. Both of the Gary Renard books, in the order written:

The Disappearance of the Universe

Your Immortal Reality

Gary is a master and teacher of A Course in Miracles. These books both present a different perspective on it than is more popularly available, one that’s in line with the two previous books. They are both fun to read and are chock-full of ideas and information that will make you consider things in a much more expansive way.

5. Any of the Carlos Casteneda books

Need I say more? I have a few favorites but it’s been so long since I read them that I forget which ones they are. Regardless, I don’t think you can go wrong.

6. Dying to Be Me by Anita Moorjani

See my review of Dying to be Me for lots more about why I recommend this book.

7. The Biology of Belief by Bruce H. Lipton

This book is about epi-genetics and puts a new spin on what we think is set in stone, er, DNA. My takeaway is that our DNA functions more as a set of antennae picking up information from “the field” (see first book) than a set of pre-defined patterns, and is much more malleable than we’ve been taught.

8. My Stroke of Insight by Jill Bolte Taylor

Another book that will keep you fascinated all the way through. The author is a brain scientist who experienced a stroke and writes about her experiences during and after. You’ll get a new way of considering what your brain does to create what you experience as your perceptions, and you’ll understand that there’s a much more expanded reality than we’re typically conscious of.

9. Matrix Energetics by Dr. Richard Bartlett

Every time I read this, it’s as if I’m reading a new book. There are layers and layers of concepts in here, not only about Matrix Energetics as conceived of by the author, but also some of its possible underlying principles.

10. The Physics of Miracles by Dr. Richard Bartlett

More about the principles behind Matrix Energetics, and also (like the previous book, Matrix Energetics) an inspiring example in Dr. Bartlett of how having an open, expanded mind actually opens you to much more possibility than you could ever imagine.

If you’ve read any of these, my readers and I would love to hear your impressions! Or even if you go off and read one or more of them now, do come back and add to the discussion. We’ll be here! 😉

And if you want to know more about Emergence, sign up for my newsletter and as a free gift you’ll get the Emergence Primer plus a Tune-Up Session audio you can use over and over.

Thanks for reading! Until next time,

Patti

In Western society, the rational mind rules.

We’re encouraged to develop and honor it above all else, even to the exclusion of all else.

It’s too bad.

Being purely rational — even predominantly rational — limits us more than we know.

Open Mind & Open State

In my last post, I talked about the importance of having an open mind. And what I mean by this is not just being open to new, rational ideas.

It’s about opening your whole self, your larger “mind”, to the idea that you may not know it all; you may never know it all!

And it’s helpful to open to the possibility that there is more than we can ever know or understand.

What happens then is you allow some other parts of you to operate along with (or sometimes instead of) your rational mind.

It’s a more holistic, aware, intuitive, and in short, expanded way of being. (And so fun!)

This is an especially important foundation to build on if you want to be able to take advantage of the Open State that is critical to Emergence, allowing the magic that is you to unfold into your life.

As I’ve said before, if you believe there’s no such thing as magic, you’re not as likely to experience it.

Entering the Open State is easiest if you can expand your mind, or let go of your thoughts altogether (especially your thoughts of disbelief).

But in the meantime, you don’t have to be perfect.

Just make a start.

Open the door just a little.

An Enlivening Dance

The Open State and an open mind work together (or play together).

It’s like a dance, where each interacts with and enlivens the other.

Expanding and strengthening each is an iterative process.

I know this to be true as I am doing the dance, and have been for a long time!

If you’re willing to do this, you’ll find that rather than build new beliefs, your mind will be fluid and open to whatever shows up in the moment.

Your perceptions will be spontaneous and dynamic. (Much more about what this means and how you can do it too in the upcoming Open State series.)

Beyond Thoughts and Beliefs

During our last Activation, we did a quick and easy process together.

Afterward, I got a question that made the idea of this dance quite apparent.

It was about the questioner’s thoughts, and her beliefs — that rational mind, again! — and how they help or hurt the process.

Audio Q & A (& A & A … ;-))

I wanted to share the question and answer with you.

After the call, a few more ideas came to me and I’ve added those also. (So those of you on the call and with the recording have not heard all of this yet.)

(For some context it might help you to first listen to the Opening + Emergence audio found in my post Open to the Possibilities and Emerge!)

Note: In my answer, I recommend a book called The Field by Lynne McTaggart. It’s a great way to help open your mind, and is a fun read, besides. You can always find it and other books I recommend in my store.

I’ll be recommending more books that are specifically on this topic shortly.

Magic is the New NormalWOW, I sure enjoyed our recent January Activation!

It went well, and it was enlightening for me to interact with those of you who participated (thank you)!

I got a great question during the Q & A that made something I’d been considering even more apparent.

It’s the importance of developing an open mind.

It’s the very first step, even before learning about the Open State and how to be in it.

We need to get out of our own way so that we can take advantage of what the Open State offers.

(If you were on the call, you heard me announce a February blog series about the Open State, but this made me realize I first want/need to write awhile about an open mind. So here we go!)

Can you let go of what you think you know and open your mind wide to all the possibilities?

An Open Mind

I’ve been developing my magical thinking all my life, really. I didn’t think about it that way at the time, but that’s what I was doing. It’s perfectly natural to me.

It’s so natural, that I’m coming to the conclusion that magic is the new normal: Many of my friends live that way, as do many of you.

If the idea of an open mind sounds or feels foreign to you, know that you can develop one deliberately.

Learning – Not!

And it’s not so much about learning something new. It’s more about UN-learning what you think you know.

UN-learning all your limiting beliefs.

Believing – Not!

And it’s not about believing in magic and miracles.

It’s not about believing in anything!

It’s about letting go of beliefs and being willing to open to the possibilities!

Then you’ll be not only more able, but also more motivated to embrace the Open State which is an expanded way of perceiving and experiencing (and the state from which you can easily facilitate magic and miracles).

A Foundation for Emergence

In many ways, an open mind is the primary foundation of Emergence. But to be more accurate, it’s more of a non-foundation, since unlike most foundations, it’s an undefined element.

Rather than being “solid”, it’s malleable and always changeable.

That’s the beauty, the magic, and the fun of it.

In the world where magic is the new normal, you get to make it up as you go. (Stick with me and you’ll “get” what this means. ;-))

A New Mindset

So a truly open mind allows for a new mindset where your perspective remains fluid.

It enables you to open to the possibilities:

• Of the process

No rules!

• Of the results

No limits!

• Of reality

It may not be what you think it is — in fact, it’s probably not!

Your open mind will be much more open to possibilities than is the (old ;-)) norm.

So, are you open to becoming more open?

If so, keep an eye on this space.

In upcoming posts I’ll be presenting some new models to play with that will help you open your mind even more than it already is.

Hello, magical creatures!

Here’s a short, easy-to-listen-to audio that sets the stage for several of my upcoming articles.

It’s an excerpt from our most recent live Activation (a group Holographic Emergence™ session).

In essence, it’s about opening to the possibilities of your reality:

If you can’t believe in *magical* possibilities, you’re not as likely to see or manifest them

• A brief, in-a-nutshell explanation of what I call “Emergence” and why

Listening will give you a better idea of what this blog is about, too.
