You Are the Placebo: Making Your Mind Matter by Dr. Joe DispenzaYou Are the Placebo: Making Your Mind Matter by Dr. Joe Dispenza is an excellent book!

And please don’t be misled by the title term “placebo”. This book is much more broad than how we often think of a placebo, i.e. in a medical/health-related context.

It addresses any and all situations you may encounter. Yes, anything! The book’s clever subtitle “Making Your Mind Matter” might even be a better title, as it’s all about consciousness as your mind being made into matter.

Corresponding to the division of its 2 sections, it’s both informative and transformative, with impressive substance on both counts.

Informative

The first section (including the author’s own story, which is just amazing) contains in-depth yet very well written (i.e. interesting and easy to understand) explanations of his concepts; both what they are and why they work.

It’s extremely well researched, includes helpful diagrams, and is one of the best books I’ve seen on the subject of working at the most subtle levels of consciousness to powerfully effect change in the physical world.

I especially liked his chapter “The Quantum Mind”. So often this type of information gets garbled or too complex upon explanation, but he does a beautiful job of describing the concepts, especially the ones that are relevant to his simple yet concentrated suggestion for applying the ideas.

He also does an excellent job of presenting all his ideas and experiences in a factual, believable manner. I so appreciate that it’s not presented as some fringe or New Age idea that many would disregard even before investigating, but rather as the proven yet leading edge idea that it actually is. I’m personally eager for mainstream to get with it, and I think this book will be a great help toward that end.

Transformative

The 2nd section is how to apply it.

It’s a concise but powerful part of what he offers, in that it first prepares you for a guided “meditation” process which he then proceeds to provide word for word. I so appreciate that!

From the verbatim text he gives you, you can read it or record your own audio and immediately begin to practice it yourself. (You can purchase audio CDs of the meditations, but I went to his website and instantly downloaded an MP3 version. So much easier than creating it myself and well worth the reasonable price.)

For anyone familiar with what I call “Quantum Consciousness” technology (for lack of a standard term), this book will add a lot to both your understanding and practice. There are many ways to effectively practice QC, and this book adds elements that I hadn’t thought of as integral to the practice. However, I’ve been using his meditation for several weeks now and find that although these elements may not be absolutely necessary, they do make it much more reliably powerful. I’m fully on-board with his suggestions for the time being.

One concept of QC that he repeatedly emphasizes is that your future doesn’t need to be your past, so when your old patterns shift, you’re beginning anew. You’re not even having to heal anything, you’re just letting that past go and literally beginning anew in the moment. He expertly guides you to explicitly let it go and open to a brand new future of your choosing.

My own ongoing sense with QC (including the method presented here) is that you are not so much fixing something, but actually replacing an old pattern of disease or disharmony with a new, more desirable pattern. And almost effortlessly!

His guided meditation is also very useful in helping you maneuver more deliberately and skillfully between pure consciousness and what you would like to manifest. I’m not sure this exact aspect is intentional but I find it fascinating and surely worth noticing.

My only quibble is that he sometimes uses the word “thought” for consciousness, and I think this can be confusing if not downright misleading. My experience is that the two are very different. (Are you familiar with Eckhart Tolle?!) Still, his explanations supersede this confusion, so I don’t consider this a big problem.

It Works!

Last but not least, I want to report that I already have first-hand experience that what he teaches here works.

And it will amaze you.

I’ve used it successfully with a few different situations in my life,  most recently with a back injury. After my first session with the back injury, I was stunned that it was significantly improved (like 80% better?), just in that one session! It was as if it had healed many days’ worth in just that one hour. I felt like a new person, and as you’ll learn, I actually was in many ways!

If I’m stunned after effectively practicing QC since 2007, you will be too. It was nothing short of phenomenal.

My husband has started using the meditation along with me for a chronic health issue he’s had, and even without reading the book he’s also noticed significant improvement.

Highly Recommended!

Get this book. Practice the suggestions he so thoughtfully packaged for you as a meditation at the end, and watch your life situation(s) improve. Spread the word and help humanity move forward. It’s time we all embrace what’s truly possible.

Many many thanks to you, Dr. Joe Dispenza. Your book is a priceless gift.

And thank you to Hay House for publishing this and offering it to me for review. I may not have even noticed this treasure otherwise.

Note: I received this book for free from Hay House Publishing for review purposes and this review reflects my honest evaluation.

Quantum CreativityFirst, I’ll start off by saying that I’ve read several of Amit Goswami’s books, and would be happy to read all of them! Although he’s an accomplished physicist, consciousness is of primary interest to him, especially its interplay with what he knows of quantum physics.

His books are a perfect combination of both of those topics, and he’s very good at explaining just enough quantum physics and just enough about consciousness to explain how and why they are dependent upon each other.

He’s very good at putting all of this in lay terms and writing in an engaging way that not only keeps you interested, but fascinated.

Think Quantum, Be Creative!

This particular book, Quantum Creativity, includes the fundamentals of those two topics, and then builds upon them to address our creativity specifically.

Much of creativity itself requires paradigm shifts, and — as you might expect if you’re familiar with this author — this book itself offers one!

Goswami begins by explaining the creative process along with how it actually works. Much of this is unique to how he understands it, and during the time period I read the book, I often found myself reflecting on how it applies as I went about my daily life.

I read this book specifically to see if he would address the unique manifestation process I’ve observed in the various forms of Quantum Consciousness (QC) Technology. Although he didn’t touch on that type of creativity/manifestation specifically, much of what he did discuss has enabled me to extrapolate for some additional ways of playing with the process in my own QC practice (Holographic Emergence™).

My favorite section was that on spiritual creativity where he discusses inner and outer creativity, self-realization, and enlightenment. It was wonderful hearing from an expert how all of these connect with each other.

Practical Application

Besides giving you a good understanding of the process (from which you can invent and explore — i.e. create! — your own ways to use it), he goes several steps further by showing you how to make use of it.

First, he gives examples of its application in several life area, for example, in the arts, in business, and in society. You’ll get a good idea of how expansive this process can be.

Then he ends with another of my favorite sections “Bringing Creativity to the Center of Your Life”, where he gives you very specific ways in which to apply the ideas in your own life. He writes about each of 7 suggested practices with a perfect amount of detail so you can begin to practice immediately. Several of these help put you into the “Open State” of which I write and which I consider an integral element of creativity, intuition, and of course, Quantum Consciousness itself.

Although I didn’t think I needed to read “yet another” book about creativity, I’m glad I read this one and that I have it to refer to. I’m sure I’ll refer especially to the steps he so thoughtfully included near the end as I practice what he suggests to enhance my own access to what he calls my “quantum self”.

Highly recommended!

FocusSo, recently we talked about Eagle Eyes and expanding our attention out past what we might normally notice.

If you took part in the 30 Day Conscious Living Challenge at OM Times, you may remember that on day 2 of my challenge “The ABC’s of Actively Being Conscious”, we talked about what you can think of as:

Two axes of awareness,
vertical and horizontal,
or depth and breadth.

Conscious means that you are aware of and responding to your surroundings. In other words, awake! We all know the meaning of the word “awake”, including that it’s sometimes used to mean spiritually awake, or self-aware.

Over the next 29 days you’ll experience various aspects and levels of consciousness, awareness, and being awake.

You can think of these literally as dimensions of consciousness; as two axes that we’ll be playing with. There’s the horizontal, or breadth; and the vertical, or height and depth.

That means that on horizontal days you’ll expand your consciousness or awareness into what you perceive as the world, and on vertical days you’ll “raise” your consciousness or experience it more deeply by being self-aware in various ways.

Well, Eagle Eyes increases your breadth, and focus is definitely one of the better tools for increasing your depth.

Now here’s something kind of funny, which happens to also be a great example of focus. In considering what to say about focus, I was aware of all the practices that are available to help improve our skills in focusing — meditation being one of the most powerful of all, by the way.

I also became aware of a lot of ways to apply focus in order to actively be conscious.

And as I suddenly felt overwhelmed with so much to tell you, I had to laugh.

In my head, I was expanding my options, not focusing on one!

Expansion is wonderful, but without the ability to also focus,
we end up with a sort of spiritual ADD, right?

We find ourselves bouncing around all over the place without settling long enough to really experience something fully.

So let’s focus on just one way of focusing. 😉

Focus “Inside”

This exercise is especially useful when you become overwhelmed.

It’s what I did–what I applied–after realizing I was expanding out into all the possible topics related to focus and I wanted to reel myself in.

1. Close your eyes. Do what you can to minimize the “outer world” from getting your attention.

2. Drop into your heart space. (Read my 3-step how-to, or use my 3-minute guided audio.)

3. As you experience this still, quiet place, know that this is you. You are the “I” of the storm, the vortex of the wild, swirling energy that is our wondrous world.

“This is the beginning of your natural state of felt oneness with Being, which is usually obscured by the mind. With practice, the sense of stillness and peace will deepen. In fact, there is no end to its depth. You will also feel a subtle emanation of joy arising from deep within: the joy of Being.”

~ Eckhart Tolle, The Power of Now.

At this point, if you’re trying to decide among many options, you can ask yourself:

What is my most authentic activity?

What will express best who I am and feel good in the process?

You’ll notice the dance between your head and heart as your answer bubbles up. And as that dance continues, you’ll get clarity and focus regarding your next one thing.

The Synergy of Expansion and Focus

Just like in the act of breathing, we benefit from the rhythm of expansion and contraction, or expansion and focus.

Both are important and necessary.

1. Notice how, at some times, you expand, and at others, you focus in.

2. Also notice, as in our specific application/exercise above, how sometimes your attention is “out there” in the world (scanning that horizontal axis), and at others it’s “in here” (on the vertical), deepening your experience of the immortal you.

3. And finally, notice how one or the other might serve you best in any given situation, and that you can now make a more conscious choice as to which one to apply.

Can you see the value in being aware of these two dimensions? How each has its value in making us more conscious?

Here’s to our breadth and our depth!

Awareness + IntuitionOne of the main elements of being conscious is that of awareness. And it’s not any special or tricky kind of awareness. It’s simply awareness.

And here’s the best part: We obviously all have an ability to be aware, at least those of us who are conscious beings (and I assume you consider yourself a part of that group)!

In fact, we cannot help but be aware — of something!

By refining and expanding upon this one simple quality, your consciousness — and intuition, too — will grow exponentially. Yet if it goes unnoticed, you’ll manage, but without the benefit of an integral part of your inborn guidance system.

We can even go so far as to say that operating without a broadened awareness is a handicap that most people are living with.

If you begin to play with being aware, it will become blatantly obvious that there is a lot of information available to you all the time that normally you simply just don’t notice. Or if you notice it, you don’t pay it any mind.

We are often so focused on the task at hand — which usually involves thinking about something rather than participating in the moment — that there is not even a little crack for awareness of anything else to enter.

3 Steps to Expanded Awareness

Here are 3 simple steps you can do immediately that will help you expand your awareness.

1. Intend

Intention goes a long way. This is such a simple and easy action that it’s easy to overlook the power of it. But taking a moment to set an intention can make all the difference.

So, intend to be aware and intend to notice. This will help whatever’s relevant come to your attention even when your attention is on other things.

Hint: It sometimes helps to set your intention to notice something that serves a purpose. So, for example, you might say “I intend to notice anything that might be helpful to me today”, or “I intend to notice something that will delight me today”, etc.

You can repeat this periodically but even once is better than not at all.

2. Notice deliberately

Short practices expand your consciousness and strengthen your intuitive muscles, too.

Take time periodically to:

a. Notice that you are aware, and

b. Notice what you are aware of

This will be interesting in itself, but you’ll also find that you will now be more consciously aware even when you’re not doing this noticing intentionally.

This brings what you are already aware of at a subtle level into the foreground. When we don’t do this, the awareness remains at a subconscious level, where it can do things like make you feel uncomfortable but you don’t know why.

Some of these new awarenesses will be practical observations that you would otherwise miss but which you can now tend to. If your body is cramped, get up and move around or take a good stretch! Thirsty? Get a drink of water! Slightly upset? What’s going on?

3. Remain open to surprises.

The more aware you are, the more you begin to notice things that you’re not expecting at all.

Staying open to surprises will help you not simply see only what you would expect to, but also those new things that your mind would automatically dismiss.

Expect the unexpected! It helps you notice it, which is half the fun.

So these are but a few of the many exercises you can do to increase your awareness.

They’re intended to open some new channels in your habitual modes of experiencing.

You may not get any big a-ha‘s at first, but if you practice them enough, you’ll find your awareness and intuition opening up in exciting, new ways.

Here’s to your expansion!

Patti

What did you intend to notice? Did you? Any surprises? Or what’s YOUR favorite way of expanding your awareness? Do share!

Speaking of intuition …

One of my stories is included in Angela’s post today over at Powered By Intuition.

You can read it here: Intuition: Miraculous Stories of Following Intuition in Everyday Life

Om - heart spaceIn our society, the rational mind rules. From the time we were children, we’ve been encouraged to “use our heads”, “be sensible”, and “think it through”.

This is fine except that it’s been at the exclusion of using our other more expansive faculties, such as intuition, gut feeling, or our holistic “sense” of a situation.

It’s much more wholesome and effective to use both.

But we’re not generally trained or even encouraged to access those more intuitive parts of ourselves. The part of our being that just knows. The part that sees the whole picture all at once.

When your awareness is centered in your heart area, you have much better access to that all-knowing part of yourself. You enter an open state of consciousness and your awareness expands.

The good news is that it’s actually quite simple to “drop down” from your head to your heart center. And here’s an easy way to do that.

3 Steps to Expanded Awareness

You can read and do it yourself, but I recommend this 3 minute audio that guides you through it.

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

It helps in the beginning to do this with your eyes closed:

  1. Take a deep breath and as you do so, place your attention where your thoughts are (usually in the center of your head).
  2. Begin to exhale slowly and as you do so, drop your shoulders as you fully relax.
  3. Now as you finish exhaling, immediately drop one more level by moving your attention from your head down to your heart area.

Do you feel the difference? Feel how still and quiet it is? Then you’re “there”.

Gently hold your attention there awhile. There’s no need to try to get a sense of anything. In fact, it’s best to simply notice the stillness.

If you can’t tell a difference from your normal state of awareness, then repeat the steps again very slowly. Pay close attention to the subtle goings on “inside”.

Notice that even though you took certain steps, when you’re accessing this state, you’re not actually doing anything.

You’re being.

It’s that simple state of being that we’re after.

The more you do this, the more you’ll notice that your awareness is indeed expanded. It may feel at the time like nothing at all is happening, but believe me: This is where the *magic* lives!

Thanks for reading!

Until next time,

Patti

Did you notice a difference or experience the silence? Can you put into words what it felt like to you?

Today’s post is a slight variation of the Day 6 exercise I created for the OM Times 30-Day Conscious Living Challenge:

The challenge participants have been pure delight (I look forward every day to checking in) :-D, and are contributing immensely to the challenge discussions with their great comments and feedback.

“There was stillness, peace and no thought; just a watchful awareness, though I was still aware observing.”

“I was in both places, but the feeling of being in the heart & being aware of the thoughts being processed elsewhere gave me a feeling of respite. A sigh of relief! It felt like I was leaving the city of ‘thoughts’ & moving away to the sub-suburbs or country side of the ‘heart center’.”

It’s not too late to join us! Come visit my ABC challenge forum — we’re having fun!

[So far we’ve done A for Awareness, B for Believe (Not!), C for Creativity, D for Drop Down, E for Eagle Eyes, F for Focus, G for Gaia, and H for Holistic. Today we do I for Intuition … and you’ll have to join us to discover the rest!]

Life is your playground! This really is the most important thing I could possibly say.

But bear with me, as it’s a whole different paradigm than most people live by.

When you know who and what you truly are, in your essence, you will realize that you are not at stake here in this life.

That frees you to simply enjoy it, challenges and all.

I know. I’ve been through some major challenges, the most recent being a major financial loss. It could have been devastating but for this new way of BEing that I picked up along the way.

Presence, or the Open State

It’s about living in Presence, one experience of what I call the Open State.

If you’ve followed Eckhart Tolle, you may have an idea what Presence is.

But I also think that many of us (because I did it in the beginning, too) have a shallow understanding of what Presence actually is.

It’s NOT simply being in the moment in the sense of experiencing what’s in front of you right then, although that’s a helpful way to finally get to it.

It’s not even just about practicing mindfulness – that’s more a way to enjoy and “play” (which I’ll talk more about below).

It’s about going a level deeper than that.

It’s about BEing in that moment fully and to such a degree that you are aware of your immortal nature.

You become aware of the space or silence or stillness that Eckhart refers to.

You become aware of the still field that is omnipresent, existing throughout all things.

The field that you ARE.

The awareness that you ARE.

Once you’ve experienced this, you just know that you are not threatened by anything happening “out there” (more on “out there” later ;-)). You are not helped by it, nor are you harmed by it.

And then, as you experience it more and more, this knowing becomes a part of who you are as a personality, and you begin to live much more in peace.

In joy, ease, and lightness.

Fear begins to melt away.

The love that you are in essence begins to express, naturally, as compassion for everything and everyone, for you know that it is all YOU.

And you don’t just know or believe it intellectually. You know it through and through.

Then you’ll begin to see that this you, this essence that exists prior to manifestation, is what unfolds or emerges AS as your life, including you as a thinking, acting human being. (This is the level at which we work and play during a Holographic Emergence™ session. This you, and these subtle layers that are the blueprint for what manifests.)

But still, YOU are not affected by it in any way. Not really.

And you know this.

Which frees you to play with it, no matter how your mind might judge it.

You get to fully experience lila, or Divine play. (For you are Divine! :-))

And you experience your life as one giant playground, full of all kinds of new experiences!

Help Along the Way: Amazing Resources

I’ve come to this over time primarily with the remarkable guidance of 2 enlightened beings.

1) Eckhart Tolle. I can’t recommend his work enough. I’ve read his books several times, each time getting something deeper and richer. I listen to his audios over and over, again hearing or absorbing exactly what’s needed to keep me moving each day toward this state of BEing.

2) John Sherman. His work at River Ganga is extraordinary. Without him, I don’t think I’d have really gotten even what Eckhart offers. His teaching is one-pointed, i.e. Look at Yourself. It’s through this extremely simple practice that I have really grokked who/what I am. I mean really, really got it, to the core. I no longer simply experienced the stillness. It became clear that that is what I AM, and that stillness is ultra-aware. It’s pure consciousness. It’s awareness. It’s me.

Both Eckhart and John illuminate in a new and accessible way what the Eastern Masters have been saying for millennia. I spent quite a long time immersed in Eastern philosophy. The world they so beautifully describe is nothing short of heaven on earth. (Have you ever read the Upanishads? They’re breathtakingly beautiful!) I’ve meditated for decades and meditation is, of course, helpful.

But it wasn’t until I became aware of these two and dove deeply into their teachings that I was able to actually access it; to benefit in a meaningful and profound way, and to really begin to become more consciously this Light that we all are.

A Path, not a Destination

I’m still growing. I don’t consider myself an enlightened master – yet. 😉

The good news is you don’t have to be at the summit to experience extraordinary benefits.

Little by little we become more and more conscious of who and what we are.

And little by little, we emerge as our true, authentic, essence. And this unfolding is rich and satisfying.

No matter what.

Namasté,

Patti

The Open State is the answer to everything, IMHO.

I think it’s what my life here is all about.

I’m about to launch a series of posts on the Open State, starting next week.

Let me give you an idea of what it’s about so you’ll know if you want to check back in.

The Open State

First, what is the Open State?

Really, it’s BEing who or what we are, in essence. In the series, I’ll talk more about what I mean by this and how you can get there yourself.

Second, what’s the value in it?

In a nutshell, I think the answer is two-fold.

One, it’s a powerful foundation for manifesting. It’s the state that is fundamental to my Holographic Emergence™ practice which is about tweaking how things manifest. In a broader sense, it’s a way to live, or rather to BE, so that life on this plane manifests beautifully as you go.

I mention this first because so many of you are focused on how to manifest consciously. And so am I. But I see this as something we are here to “play” with. And having that attitude of play rather than need comes naturally right along with it.

Secondly, and most importantly, it allows you to enjoy life, no matter what. It’s somewhat akin to moksha, or the spiritual liberation that many of the Eastern masters speak of. So even when our life situation is not to our liking, we have a sense of the bigger picture and do not feel threatened in any way.

I’m an avid “student”** of Eckhart Tolle, and one of his quotes from The Power of Now that recently “appeared” in my life again is this:

The Joy Of Being

To alert you that you have allowed yourself to be taken over by psychological time, you can use a simple criterion. Ask yourself: Is there joy, ease, and lightness in what I am doing? If there isn’t, then time is covering up the present moment, and life is perceived as a burden or a struggle.

He goes on to explain:

If there is no joy, ease, or lightness in what you are doing, it does not necessarily mean that you need to change what you are doing. It may be sufficient to change the how. “How” is always more important than “what.

In other words, are you living in the Open State?

I made the image at the top of this post to use as one of my desktop backgrounds, for when I want a reminder to check in. Feel free to download it (right-click on it and save image as …) and use it if you’d like.

So that’s a quick over-view and if you find it intriguing at all, I hope you’ll come back – and please let your friends know about the series, too!

More Joy, Ease, and Lightness

And speaking of joy, ease, and lightness: It’s spring here in New Mexico and the hummingbirds usually return around now. I just love their spirit and to me they represent such joy and lightness (even though they fight like the dickens sometimes) — the same way I would describe my own sense of BEing when I’m living in the Open State. I like to let them be harbingers of that for me.

So on that light note, I want to share this one-minute video with you. It makes me smile. 🙂 (And notice how one of them is sitting on my finger. I was thrilled!)

I hope you have a *wonder-ful* Easter.

May it be

a new beginning

where you emerge

as the joy, ease, and lightness

that you are!

** I put “student” in quotes because Tolle also says (again, in The Power of Now):

I am not teaching you. You are consciousness, and you are listening to yourself.

Yes!

Aren’t we amazing?!

Until next time … Lots of blessings,

Patti

Do you want to blast your mind wide open but still remain practical? Are you finally ready to get out of your rut?

Then E-Squared: Nine Do-It-Yourself Energy Experiments That Prove Your Thoughts Create Your Reality by Pam Grout is the book for you.

You’ll even come away with some useful “tricks” to use in your everyday life for manifesting what you want.

“Seeing with your own two eyes that you can change reality simply by observing it will rewire your brain and divest you from old conditioning. Learning, through scientific experimentation, how deeply you are connected to the field of potentiality will literally set you free.”

~ All quotes by Pam Grout, E-Squared

First, I’m already on-board with the concepts presented in this book. I’ve been practicing and living them for quite some time now.

They really are valid and they really do work.

But I was still attracted to this book because I was curious to see if there was something new here, and above all, I thought it would be fun to do some experiments.

E-Squared did not disappoint.

Fresh Writing Style

I loved Pam’s writing style, it’s so fun and easy to read. She’s down-to-earth and quite funny. Besides being informative and revealing, E-Squared is entertaining and enjoyable.

And for aspiring writers (oui, c’est moi), it’s a superb example of using voice and analogy to get your point across. Very refreshing!

It’s also a great example of making concepts that could be merely theoretical into exercises you can apply in a useful way.

Energy and Consciousness

A lot of the experiments (all simple, easy, and fun) work with energy and the Law of Attraction.

But you also work with some underlying principles that are even more subtle, related to the Zero Point Field (of quantum physics) and consciousness itself.

It’s a nice mixture.

In fact, reality is nothing but waves of possibility that we have “observed” into form.

Logic and Openness

It’s also a perfect balance of left-brained logic and right-brained openness.

For each experiment, Pam offers a premise and the background facts are presented. You’ll enjoy some great quotes and references, along with ideas for further reading.

This is typically followed by some fascinating stories that are offered as anecdotal evidence, and to which you will definitely relate.

She then lays out the experiment for you to perform complete with a lab sheet that summarizes it nicely and which you use to keep yourself on track and note your results.

So fun!

Effectiveness and Validity

I can’t say that every experiment “worked” for me. And some I haven’t taken the time to do fully yet.

But a lot of them worked like a charm and it was fun watching them unfold into my life.

I did notice, though, that even when I didn’t get the results I wanted or expected, doing the experiment was revealing in some way and still worth my time. Usually, it was because I was not focused or consistent enough with it, or because my own energy was muddled in some way. Without the experiments, I wouldn’t have understood that so clearly.

It’s imperative to practice conscious, moment-by-moment awareness. Otherwise, you’re operating out of old encrusted beliefs, beliefs you downloaded before you were five years old. Do you really want a five-year-old running your life?

So in every case I learned some good lessons to apply as I move forward.

E-Squared: Recommended!

I definitely recommend this spirited book. Pam’s natural sparkle uplifts throughout and makes the whole experience a positive one.

I also think it would make a great gift for friends you might have who are “on the fence”. 😉

If you play with these ideas and exercises like the author suggests, it will open your eyes to some new possibilities — especially if you’re new to this, but even if you’re not.

Disclaimer: I received this book for free from Hay House Publishing for review purposes, yet you can rest assured that this review reflects my honest evaluation.

Have you read this book? I’d love for you to leave a comment and let us know how it was for you! Or do you have any questions about it? Ask away!

A Way of Being, with Fun on Top!Did you know that the most powerful way to practice Emergence requires no overhead at all?

Granted, the sessions themselves are short and fun, but there’s another even more basic aspect of Emergence I want to be really clear about:

Emergence is not so much an activity.
It’s a way of Being.

And then, on top of that way of Being, there are some ways you can apply quantum principles to help encourage your essence to emerge in a certain way. These are what comprise a session.

Spirited Play

But you can’t facilitate sessions with a sense of desperation or even need. It just doesn’t work that way.

It’s got to be in the spirit of fun, and play. Because that’s what this world of form is. It’s a playground!

I know, I know.

I, too, have had some big challenges that sure don’t feel like fun.

But that’s the trick – to get to that place where even difficult things can be appreciated at least as adventures!

In the memorable words of John Sherman,

“You are not at stake here!”

Your Essence is Immortal and Untouchable

We (as consciousness, awareness, essence) are never affected in any way by what’s occurring in our lives. And that means not only “outward” seeming events and situations, but even what most consider “inner” movements such as thoughts and feelings.

They are not you!

Well, okay … in a way they are because they are your essence emerging and not apart from you, but they are not you as your divine, immortal Being.

It’s helpful to “get” that. Understanding it is a start but ultimately you want to live it.

So once you are actually operating consistently from that state of Being, you’ll find that your life unfolds much more harmoniously than if you’re not.

And even when it doesn’t, you are able to appreciate it for what it is.

It’s a movement of your own consciousness
that you, as your divine self,
are getting to experience.

How amazing and cool is that?!

Fun with Form

And then, just for fun, you can learn to do Emergence “sessions” to intentionally play in the quantum field — that same field of consciousness or awareness that is your essence — to help shift how you are emerging. In other words, to affect the world of form that you experience.

And this blog discusses all of the above. If you read my posts, and apply the periodic exercises or suggestions, you ought to be able to learn a lot just from that.

Thank you!

Patti

The art and science of consciousness technology.Whether you approach life with the right or left brain, as an intuitive or rationalist, this art and science of Emergence (a Consciousness Technology) can be both fascinating and helpful!

Art and Science

I remember making a choice in high school: Art or Science? Which direction to pursue?

I was very creative and a good artist, but I loved and excelled at math and science. Granted there are vocations that blend the two, but from where I sat at a tiny parochial school in a small town in the Midwest, I didn’t know that. I felt compelled to choose.

I ended up choosing a career as a software engineer, where I used logic all the time and got to work with some really smart people. It was a good choice for me since it was lucrative and I was able to raise my son (as a single mother) in the expensive San Francisco Bay Area quite comfortably. Of course there was a lot of creativity involved but my work was still primarily left-brained and logical.

Altered States of Consciousness

At the same time, I was interested in what’s often called “spiritual growth” as well. I learned my first meditation technique when I was 18 and studied many different disciplines, philosophies, gurus, teachers, methods, practices, etc. I continued to delve into all sorts of consciousness studies.

Admittedly, I also loved drugs, especially hallucinogens. I didn’t do LSD often like some people I knew, but I did it enough to find out that there are “worlds out there” that we can’t even imagine. Not necessarily the same as reaching altered states without the aid of substances, but not necessarily different in some important respects, either.

I also had a near death experience where I got a glimpse into yet another awesome world.

To this day I’m convinced that anyone who pooh-poohs the idea that there is much more to us and our world than meets the eye, then they are simply closed-minded and although they think we are foolish, they are only limiting themselves.

A Conscious Pragmatist

As a single mom (now grandma) and an engineer (now retired), I’ve always been inclined to deal with things sensibly and realistically. Not wholly but primarily left-brained.

I was always very pragmatic. I had to be.

But that didn’t mean that accessing and taking advantage of whatever these “other worlds” offered me contradicted that. In fact, doing so would be smart. So why not?

Why not a marriage of art and science?

Why not appreciate what our right-brain — and indeed, anything else we have access to — has to offer as well as the left?!

So although I’ve found that for me, drugs are not the answer (for various reasons), I am still wholly involved in raising and expanding my consciousness in natural ways. The difference is that now I approach it more experientially rather than theoretically, and suddenly it’s becoming clear in a way it never has before. Simple and powerful, it’s one of the most satisfying and meaningful areas of my life.

I’m also more than happy to take advantage of the naturally resulting expanded awareness and heightened intuition in order to access practical information and guidance that helps in everyday life. This delights me as I’ve always known intuition exists, and seeing how easy it is to access now is icing on the cake.

A Powerful Combination

When I first learned Matrix Energetics 6 years ago, I had no idea it was related to consciousness per se. And even after taking several seminars, it was only my own putting pieces together and adapting it to my life and my understandings that I began to see that consciousness is, indeed, an integral part of the technology. (At least the way I practice it through what I call Emergence.)

That’s why I like using the term Consciousness Technology (CT) rather than some of the other terms I’ve heard used. (This technology is popping up in various forms but is in such a new stage of life that it doesn’t have a well-known name yet.)

Sometimes it’s referred to in quantum physics or quantum mechanics terms, such as quantum or holographic, or it incorporates terms such as the Zero Point Field (or Matrix, or Energetics ;-)) or related concepts. This is how it was presented to me, and I’ve done my share of research and reading from that perspective too. This is great when you come at it from the scientific angle.

But I continue to verify for myself that in a simpler and more experiential approach, it’s essentially based on consciousness.

And yet, the outcome is ultimately practical and useful.

The whole point of Emergence is to enhance our lives in meaningful ways, including — but not limited to — those primarily related to consciousness itself (such as attaining inner peace).

But what’s my point?

Emergence for Everyone

You, too, can come at this practice from any or all directions, such as consciousness, science, or even pure pragmatism.

So you may already be interested in developing an expanded or higher consciousness. You may have been interested in consciousness for some time and have an understanding of and experience with various modes of consciousness.

Or like me, maybe you’re a product of the (in)famous 60’s and have had expansive experiences a la Timothy Leary with LSD and other hallucinogens. Maybe you simply like playing around with altered states.

Or you’ve studied various “New Age” means of manifesting … or are familiar with the power of manipulating energy … or  already appreciate the “healing arts“.

Or maybe you are simply interested in being able to get useful results in the material world. Perhaps you’re an  engineer or white-collar/blue-collar worker who puts a lot of weight on what you perceive through your senses. You’re a cut-and-dried pragmatist who merely appreciates the power of intention and hard work.

Or you value science and like my physicist friend, you are fascinated and intrigued by this practical application of  quantum principles.

No matter.

Whichever direction you approach Emergence from, you’ll find value in what it offers.

No beliefs or talents are necessary in order to benefit from it. (In fact, strong beliefs can be a disadvantage.)

And if you want to actually practice it, there are no parts of it that are hard to learn, no matter what your background. And even though consciousness is an essential part of this technology, you don’t have to be a guru or master in order to begin to see results right away.

So if you are even wondering if Emergence is for you, then the answer is a resounding yes.

Yes!

You can benefit. And if you want to do it, that’s possible too.

The fact that you are intrigued is a good sign that you ought to stick around. (Get my posts via RSS feedreader or RSS email or sign up for my newsletter!) If you want to join the growing number of fans of this fascinating

Art and Science of Transformation

then I welcome you!

Believing that something can heal, or even that it might be possible, is often one of the first steps to healing it.

But sometimes, try as we might, really believing it can heal is hard, if not impossible.

Here’s a really fun way around that.

It’s a new way to apply my Emergence process that I stumbled upon a few months ago, and the best part is that it works like a charm — and even for serious issues.

A Desperate Need to Heal

I’d been having serious problems with my left shoulder for about 5 months.

It had gotten progressively more rigid, to the point where it was almost unusable. Simple but important tasks like getting dressed and fixing my hair were actually challenging. Worse, there were a lot of other activities I wanted or even needed to do that were simply impossible.

I’d gone to myofacial release therapy for awhile, but after several months of regular (and painful) treatments, I still could only get my arm about parallel with the ground, maybe slightly higher. The therapists were certain I needed a lot more visits.

I’d also been going to my “magic” chiropractor (plus plus). He’s an amazing holistic healer but even he was certain I’d developed calcium deposits and would never get my shoulder moving again without surgery.

So I was at a point where nothing was improving it anymore.

I decided to regroup and tune-in to my own intuition.

I got a strong sense that it was time I use my own proven “tools” on myself. Duh.

So I discontinued the expensive myofacial release, and decided my next chiropractic treatment would be my last.

Because my Holographic Emergence™ sessions are a combination of most of my skills (and certainly of the ones I most enjoy using), I decided to start there.

The Magic Mirror Tool Revealed

So I did an Emergence session which ended up including some channeling, and during it I got the message to do some mirror work.

I wasn’t sure what that meant exactly but once I was in front of the mirror I realized: If I lift my right arm (which I could do perfectly), the mirror image makes it look as though I’m lifting my left arm.

So in other words, I was able to see my “left” arm working perfectly!

It was an odd little mind-shift but I was able to momentarily “trick” myself into perceiving it that way, and even believe it to some extent.

This was pretty cool! It was super easy and it made me feel better somehow, so I repeated that simple little mind trick a few times over a few week period.

In addition, I did a few regular Emergence sessions at the mirror, using my reflection as a surrogate for me, as if I were doing them on that person in the mirror. (Surrogates are something you’ll learn more about in future articles.)

Long story short, it all worked!!

I am absolutely thrilled to say that I have recovered use of my left arm 100%. Yay!

You Can Heal Yourself

So I firmly believe that this is something you can apply when you’re having an issue with any of your “paired structures”, i.e. those symmetrical pairs of matching body parts like shoulders, hips, arms, eyes, etc.

All you have to do is this:

  1. Decide to open to the possibility that pretending can be useful, effective, and powerful.
  2. Get in front of a mirror where you can see both matching body parts.
  3. Get into “the state.
  4. Take a moment to do that little mind-shift that I described and operate your matching body part so you “see” your compromised body part work perfectly.
  5. Repeat this every now and then. Don’t stress out about it, just do it when you’re called to.

And that’s it!

Don’t dismiss the possibility that you will notice an improvement immediately.

I noticed increased range of motion that very first day.

And as time goes on, you want to watch for anything different. Anything at all.

As I tell people after a Holographic Emergence™ session, consciously acknowledge whatever new developments you notice. It may be that something that seems unrelated comes up, such as a friend recommending a new treatment, or you see something on T.V. that might be helpful, or you get a new idea about it.

None of this actually is unrelated of course. It’s all part of the holistic way that Emergence works.

And by the way, since everything’s interrelated, trying this out doesn’t mean you don’t do other things that common sense (or your doctor) suggests. Do continue with whatever you’re already doing, or if you feel you need more, do that! I continued doing my shoulder exercises (though honestly, not as regularly), treating my trigger points, taking certain supplements, being diligent about my posture, etc.

It all works together, naturally. That’s the beauty of it.

The “Creation Activation” last Thursday was extraordinary. The activation and all it entailed was truly uplifting, but I was especially impressed that we were given so many tools for manifesting our creations.

(For those unfamiliar, an “activation” is a group Holographic Emergence™ session.)

Sometimes during a Holographic Emergence™ session, you’re given some kind of tool to take away and use as you see fit.

Well, this time, there were 4 — count ’em, 4! — tools for manifesting that were offered.

I’m guessing The Field felt everyone was adequately curious and adventurous enough that they could and would make use of them.

We did have a group of extraordinary individuals gathered, I will say that. 😉 Thanks to all of you who participated! We had some great energy going there, didn’t we?

Four Powerful Tools for Manifesting

Here are the tools that “showed up” during our activation.

These are examples of the type of supportive “consciousness technology” tools that you learn to use here.

1. Spigot for Creative Flow

The first was a spigot, like a water spigot. Because participants’ creative energy was turned on full blast, it was so that we could turn it down if it got too intense, and turn it back up whenever we want too.

2. A Helper Self

Next came a “helper self”. This is another version of ourselves that we can send off to do tasks for us. In reality we all are much more far-reaching than we know, with abilities to access and interact with everything.

A “helper self” is a useful way to more deliberately interact with expanded realities and abilities. (I’ve gotten remarkable results with this in the past. More about this some day!)

3. Message from Our Future Self

The third tool that popped up was a means of interacting with a version of ourselves that is yet to be, or rather existing but in a different “time”. We were given a message by this wiser and more evolved self which we could either receive right then and there or take with us to hear some other time.

4. A Customized and Customizable Module

And last but not least, we each received a module made especially for us.

A module is a specialized set of various kinds of energies (more on these as time goes on; they’re a Matrix Energetics concept).

Sometimes one will show up that’s customized for that person and situation, and that’s what happened this time. But there was something even more special about this one. It was not only customized already but it also allowed customization by the recipient. This is the first time I’ve seen this happen.

I know some of these sound silly, but that’s the fun of it, after all, and being in a playful state actually helps facilitate results.

Also, I’ve learned to trust whatever shows up during a session as being useful.

Sometimes the silliest things have the most profound effect.

Enhanced Creativity as a Result

I’ve already gotten some great feedback from participants (thank you!), and some of it fairly detailed about meaningful effects of each of these tools.

Plus, as I’ve mentioned before, sometimes (often!) the session begins to enhance your life even before we get together and “do” it. One participant said he’s been noticing improvements in his creative flow ever since I announced the activation. (It’s feedback like this that makes me feel soooo good that what I have to offer can make such a difference!)

As for me, I get an activation right along with everyone else, and I do feel some changes, I’m sure of it. I could hardly wait the few minutes for my netbook to boot to start writing this post. That’s a big change since often my ideas goe onto a list and become yet another to-do in my huge bag of to-do’s that I schlep around with me.

This really is different.

I also got an email in my inbox the very next morning about a creativity e-course that’s starting soon! I’m going to take part in it since I don’t think that was a coincidence, do you? Besides … I want to! It will be fun and you can join us too! Click here or on the image for more info. (I’m an affiliate of Leonie’s offerings — they are wonderful!)

It’s a part of my own emergence, after all. 😉

Comments? Questions? I’d love to hear what you’re  thinking right now!

Have you ever felt guilty?

Deeply, horribly, heart-wrenchingly guilty?

What have you done about it? How did you get past it?

Because that’s how I’ve been feeling on and off over the past few weeks.

And as of this morning, I’ve been transforming it into something that feels much lighter. Aaaaah.

As you know if you read my last post, my sweet dog Ollie recently died. It turns out that he was misdiagnosed, and although I’m now sure that I knew all along what was really going on with him, I didn’t know enough at the time to confidently push back with the vets’ diagnosis.

But even more than that, I’m haunted by the idea that I “should” have gotten him to the vet sooner. Besides pre-empting his fast and sudden turn for the worse, I’d have been able to take him to our regular vet who’s really good and who maybe would have diagnosed him correctly, fixed him up, and sent him home with us.

So every now and then … periodically … who am I kidding: frequently!… guilt comes to roost.

It settles in on my heart with its big, black heaviness and squeezes the life out of me.

And guilt is a problem because — and you’ll find this, too — when you do consciousness work it’s best if you can be in a clean, clear, good space. (Of course,  doing consciousness work actually helps you get there. But it’s a dance between the two — with one leading for awhile … then the other.) I do a lot of consciousness work for clients and if I need to, I can set my emotions aside. But of course it’s always easier when my vibration is high, and harder when I feel such dispair. (In fact when this happened, I was on the brink of finalizing a date for a free group Holographic Emergence session for subscribers. I decided the registrants deserved better so I postponed it. But stay tuned for an announcement with a new date!)

But besides the fact that it’s trickier to do good sessions, the guilt itself feels absolutely horrible, and on top of  fresh, deep, grief it can make you feel almost ill.

So I’ve been searching for a reprieve, sometimes desperately, sometimes calmly and wisely. Although I don’t want to just ignore it (let’s move on, think happy thoughts, etc.) nor rationalize why it’s all really okay (he’s in a better place, you didn’t know, you looooved him, etc.), I do want this to “process” already!

But how?

Well first I reached for a lot of my old stand-by’s. (I had them in this post but it got much too long so I took them out. You’ll get them another time.)

Even then, I was aware that, as I wrote to a friend:

I keep wanting to grasp for answers “out there”, and I try, but they seem to only be panaceas. (Of course I now have to remind myself there isn’t an “out there”. It’s all “in here”. And I know the answer(s)/or whatever is too.)

And although I got a lot of comfort and growth from most all of the things I did, I still wan’t quite at peace with it yet.

Still, they were all important because I’m sure they contributed to the movement that opened me to a new and powerful realization this morning.

A New Realization

I don’t know if it’s the ultimate answer (or if there even is one), but it’s definitely promising. (Promising enough to lift my spirits enough to write today — for the first time in quite awhile!)

And here’s how it came about.

Early this morning, soon after I got up, I went to Ollie’s grave and apologized through my deep sobs:

I’m sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you. I love you.

Then I got into the jacuzzi.

I realized after about 5 or 10 min. that I hadn’t even taken a moment to appreciate the beautiful day. I remembered that I had appreciated it as I first walked out the door but that my thought had immediately gone to the idea that Ollie would have loved it. It was nice and cool and he would have loved going for a morning walk. But he couldn’t because he was dead. And sadness and guilt had immediately enveloped me.

But as I remembered that, I looked around at what a beautiful day it still was. The hummingbirds were doing their thing at the feeder, sunlight dappled through the leaves of the trees, the air was clear and wonderfully scented, and everything seemed right with the world.

And a thought came to me:

Do I deserve to enjoy this day too?

And then almost as if I could see myself through other eyes, I realized that this person, me, Patti, had done the best she could. And ya, maybe she made a mistake — she probably did — but she didn’t do it out of bad intentions. (And even if she did, that’s not the point.) She deserves good things too. She’s a good person. She tries! (Oh, God bless her, she tries!)

And even as I was thinking this I realized that even with all that said, she doesn’t have to “earn”.

There’s a spark of innocence, a spark of Divine there that no matter what the personality has learned or not learned so far, that beingevery being — deserves love …  and deserves happiness … and deserves joy.

And the answer is yes.

Really? Even someone who’s made a horrible mistake and “should” have known better?

YES.

And not only that: she deserves to be able to reclaim her freedom and joy fully.

For without that she can’t share what it is that she’s here to share.

And what good does that do for anybody?

Have Compassion for Yourself

And so, this is the most comfort I’ve had around this issue since it first reared its head.

I also suspect that it will offer the same to you.

And even in situations where we’re not in deep despair over something we did, but any time we’re judging ourselves for something or another, it’s a perfect exercise to practice.

At this point, I can still feel some guilt. But I also feel compassion for me.

It’s not either-or, but BOTH for awhile. Okay. That’s okay. The guilt is already subsiding. (Oh great, so now it’s “merely” grief. But okay, I’ll take it.)

So it’s not gone (yet), but if anything can transmute it, it’s the light/love. From my experience, that in itself can dissolve or transform all the shadows and difficulties.

It’s powerful stuff.

And interestingly, the very thing that makes me so sad to have let Ollie down, his innocence and his beautiful trusting spirit, that very thing also exists in me.

My spirit is also beautiful and innocent, and likewise deserving of love.

And so now every time I feel that guilt I also love myself:

I love you. I’m sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you.

I’ll keep you posted … but you’ll know. You’ll actually know because you’ll see me come back to life. It’s already happening. I can feel it.

If you’ve ever felt guilt, what — if anything — have you done about it? Where did you find comfort? Did anything help? Please share!

“Are you ready to jump in and begin the most exciting journey of your life?”

These are the words Angela Artemis uses in the first chapter of her new book The Intuition Principle: How to Attract the Life You Dream Of.

And if your answer is yes, then read on, because I’m going to tell you why I think Angela’s book is a perfect first step on that journey.

Here’s my review of The Intuition Principle.

First, The Intuition Principle is a hugely impressive book.

I’ve grown accustomed to the way Angela writes on her blog, and her book did not disappoint. Some people write fluffy, superficial pieces. Not Angela. Her blog is full of posts that you can sink your teeth into. A few minutes with Angela is like an hour with someone else.

The same goes for her book.

It is substantial.

No wonder she’s so quickly become a best selling author!

(I’ve got so many of Angela’s well-chosen words to choose from — besides an impressive clairvoyant, she’s a talented writer — that I’ll sometimes let her speak for herself. Unless otherwise noted, quotes are from the book.)

The Field of Consciousness

Much of what Angela elaborates on in her book is related to what this blog is about: Connecting with a vast field of information and possibility and learning to apply it toward living a life that’s full of joy.

In Angela’s words:

The source of our intuition is the field of consciousness, or what I refer to as Greater Intelligence. … All that it takes to reconnect to this vast storehouse of knowledge is our intention and desire. It’s always there just waiting for us to invite it to work with us.

This last sentence is much like what I said in my last post about “The Field”: that it’s always there.

It’s up to us to interact with it and to accept its gifts.

This book helps us do that.

The Life You’ve Always Dreamed Of

Here’s why I love this book and why I added it to my list (I’m building a list of favorites for you to refer to): It’s about being integrated with your authentic self.

The Intuition Principle is about getting in touch with who you are authentically by listening to your intuition. It’s not so much a book about developing intuition as it is living an intuitively inspired life. …

It’s about living your best life, feeling joy, and feeling fabulous!

~ Angela chatting with Suzie Cheel about The Intuition Principle

And again, from the book:

The Intuition Principle is the concept that within you exists an innate technology, your intuition, capable of both guiding you to and attracting to you the life and happiness you’ve always dreamed of.

“Guiding you to” and “Attracting to you”.

That means it works both directions.

So this book shows you how to best interact with your life situation and how to draw to you (or create) more satisfying life circumstances.

Intuition as a Means, Not the Main Goal

What I found is that this book actually does guide you into using your intuition but in a different way than I’ve seen in most books on the subject (and I’ve seen/read/used a lot of them)!

I think you’ll find that as you go through it, your intuition will increase easily and naturally as she shows you how to use it to investigate and ultimately discover your authentic self and its ideal relationship with the world.

She takes you on a guided journey toward the meaningful goal of discovering your spirit (and all that implies in practical term), and teaches you to use intuition as your main tool.

It’s a beautiful blend of the two subjects: discovering your authentic self and using your intuition.

So although Angela states that intuition includes psychic ability, this book is primarily about getting to know ourselves more deeply rather than about extending our psychic skills. Even as a professional intuitive, I love it and plan to go back through it more thoroughly as an intensive.

The Importance of Intuition

This is not to under-state the role given to intuition and developing it in this book. (It is, after all, the title!)

I love Angela’s bold statements about it:

You will never live your authenticity until you partner with your intuition.

and further along:

Intuition is the only way to connect to your authentic self and your true calling, your reason for being here at this time.

A Peek Inside the Book

Here are a few notes I jotted down as I read the book. (Note: This isn’t comprehensive nor even necessarily in order. Just some of my favorite things about it that I wanted to mention.)

First, I’ve seen and held the paperback edition. It’s beautiful, and it feels so good! For me, that’s always a good sign and a reliable indicator of a book’s value to me.

But paperback or kindle edition, it’s obviously a gift from the heart.

Angela’s bright spirit shines through right from the beginning as she starts you off with a “pop quiz” about if and how you use your intuition. It’s a fun way to calibrate and compare once you’ve gone through the book so you can see how much progress you’ve made.

And in Angela’s no-nonsense way, she has you making progress from day one.

The bulk of the book is various ways to apply intuition to look within and get to know yourself, or in Angela’s words: “To find your passion, purpose, and authenticity.”

She gets you motivated with a list of the benefits of using your intuition in this way, and talks about how “her life changed dramatically for the better afterward when she started relying on it.”

Exercises are sprinkled throughout the book. By the end of chapter 2 she already has you effectively looking within with questions designed to help you begin to get in touch with your intuition. And these are useful questions — questions I’m sure you want the answers to. (Those are the best kind of questions for prompting intuition.)

She talks about the different ways of receiving information, and how to find out which is your primary mode or vehicle.

She gives you the main tools for developing your intuition. And notice how effective these would all be in getting to know yourself!

1. Meditation

She teaches you here how to do it in a simple and easy way, along with how to integrate it into your life.

2. Guided Meditation

She includes quite a lot of powerful guided meditations, including

  • Meet the “you” that you were meant to be in the life you were meant to live
  • Remember your mission and see your blueprint

If you like guided meditations I highly recommend you purchase her guided meditation system. (I’d do it now — the price is going up any day now.) She’s got the most beautiful voice and the meditations themselves offer so many gifts, e.g. relaxation, insight, expanded awareness, etc. Plus, there are some amazing bonuses!

3. Journaling

This is another major tool, IMHO.

4. Dreams

Easy, practical ways to apply them.

5. Muscle testing and how to do it

Super! I still find this challenging – grrr. I’m going to really use this section. 😉

6. Meeting and working with your spirit guides

A major topic in itself, and you can even download a recording of one of these exercises.

Wrapping Up

At the end she pulls it all together for you.

She discusses this “age of intuition”, and even includes a chapter on how doing this kind of work helps heal the planet.

And she includes a nice glossary of terms, and even an index, gasp! Those are so often missing but an index helps make it a useful reference as the years go by.

As Angela says in closing:

The intuitive personality is an evolved personality.

Ah, the field.

A huge subject but here’s a simple introduction that will give you a sense of what it is.

You’ll also get to experience it.

But why do I care?, you may ask.

Because that’s the place from which you will manifest all kinds of wonderful changes in your life!

In fact, it’s the place from which you know that all is well.

It’s a place of perfect and total well-being.

It’s always there and we’re always connected but the goal is to experience it more consciously because that’s what helps us earth its gifts.

That’s what helps us bring them into manifestation.

What Is The Field?

The field can be described scientifically to some degree. Lynne McTaggart wrote a whole, fascinating book about it called The Field (emphasis mine) :

Human beings and all living things are a coalescence of energy in a field of energy connected to every other thing in the world. This pulsating energy field is the central engine of our being and our consciousness, the alpha and the omega of our existence. … We are attached and engaged, indivisible from our world, and our only fundamental truth is our relationship with it. ‘The field,’ as Einstein once succinctly put it, ‘is the only reality’!!

We’ll get more into it in future articles, but for now your subjective experience of its essence is what we want to focus on.

How to “Get There”

In my experience there are many different ways of consciously accessing the field. They all involve subtleties, and they all result in a subtly different experience of it.

Here’s one of my favorites*:

(It helps in the beginning to do this with your eyes closed.)

1. Take a deep breath and as you do so, place your attention at your 3rd-eye area (between your eyebrows).

2. Exhale slowly and as you do so, drop your shoulders.

3. Now as you finish exhaling, immediately drop one more level by moving your attention from your 3rd-eye down to your heart area.

Do you feel the difference? Feel how still and quiet it is? Then you’re “there”. Hold your attention there awhile.

Soon we’ll learn a few exercises to do while you’re there to strengthen your ability to hold the state.

But for now, I’m curious to know what you think of all of this, whether you have any questions, and how you did with the exercise. Please do let me know in the comments!

* Credit for this simple but powerful set of steps goes to William, a Matrix Energetics Master Practitioner.

IMHO, practicing a Consciousness Technology —  such as this site is about — is the *ultimate* exercise in self-care. However, a talented writer and friend of mine just started a hot new blog, and has her 3rd post in a series today with potent pointers from wise women about their favorite self-care rituals. You can find the first one here (where I’m one of the featured ladies :-)), and be sure to read them all because there are some great giveaways!

I’m also featured in the current edition of Truly Alive, an impressive local holistic magazine which is recently getting its online footing. Read my article Confused? Stuck? Vedic Astrology to the Rescue! — and there’s a special freebie there, too!

In my last post I talked about what Consciousness Technology is and what I see as its main element, along with some of the things it can be used for.

But just like with other subtle things, its concepts are so impossible to really put into words that sometimes you get a better idea of it if you know what it is not.

The Tao that can be told is not the eternal Tao.
~ Lao Tsu, Tao Te Ching

So let’s go ahead and flip it around for a more complete picture.

What Consciousness Technology Is Not

Of course, it’s not a lot of things, but here’s a list of some of the things you might wonder about.

It’s not energy work.

By the time something is “energy”, it’s already becoming something. It’s further along on that continuum toward material than pure consciousness is.

consciousness -> energy -> manifestation

Even though energy is very subtle, it’s more dense than that extremely subtle field of nothing — and everything … that field of pure potential that we’re concerned with.

It’s not “running energy”.

Moving or “running” energy is part of some holistic energy work modalities such as Reiki or Pranic Healing. Techniques that direct energy to different aspects of the “energy anatomy” such as meridians, chakras, your aura, your emotional body, your physical body, etc. are not what this is about.

It’s not doing something … or doing anything.

There are lots of modalities out there that are very subtle but require some type of activity, steps, or techniques. Again, not Consciousness Technology.

With Consciousness Technology, you truly are a door, not a doer.

It’s not mental or emotional processes such as visualization, Law of Attraction, etc.

Once you start visualizing and intending, you’re unavoidably limiting it, for it has no bounds nor defined form to take.

It’s not anything that takes time.

In fact, even before I do a session, I often recognize that it is already “done”. Often, clients report changes beginning to occur as soon as we’ve scheduled one.

So why schedule time for a session? I used to wonder that too. But for one thing, my Holographic Emergence™ sessions include a little more than just Consciousness Technology. And a lot of people who practice Consciousness Technologies often combine them with other modalities.

The point here is that Consciousness Technologies can have instantaneous results.

It’s not a technique.

No elaborate (or even simple) set of steps is required.

It’s something that’s always available to you and everyone.

Even though I can present ideas and offer steps, in the end they are only pointers to help guide you to discover the “technology” of consciousness for yourself.

Once you’ve discovered it, you interact with it however you see fit.

I could go on and on here so just know this:

It’s not anything that isn’t simply about just holding that space of pure potential where anything is possible. That space of magic and miracles.

But Wait!

It’s not excluding, either.

Now that I’ve told you what it’s not, in a way you can’t exclude those things because Consciousness Technology is inseparable from consciousness which is all-inclusive.

It includes all of life because everything is consciousness.

In this world before words, there is only the real — undivided, ungraspable, already present. ~ Byron Katie, A Thousand Names for Joy

What I’m saying sounds a little like a paradox but it’s not, really.

It’s just that conceptually, the essence of Consciousness Technology is predominantly about accessing pure consciousness, unmanifest.

And it’s important to approach it purely like that, for that is the foundation of how and why it works.

But we are also living in the world of manifestation, where there is duality. There is this, not that.

So it helps to get an idea of what it’s not.

But in practice, we exclude nothing. If something that I listed above “presents itself” as useful, we use it, it’s that simple.

So for example, if you’re doing a Consciousness Technology session and are guided to do Reiki, you just do it! My Holographic Emergence™ sessions often include intuitive impressions that I get due to my being in such an open, receptive state. And although people find them interesting and even helpful, they aren’t a necessary part of Consciousness Technology either.

The way I think of it and the reason it can be helpful for you to allow those things is that it is the potential beginning to manifest through you — of its own accord.

So … I hope I’ve helped clarify a bit more what this crazy new thing called Consciousness Technology is.

If it’s outside the box and a little — or a lot — unbelievable, then chances are, that’s it!

See you next time, when you’ll hear how to access “The Field“.

Questions? Comments? Anything? Are you totally confused?

Did you know that you — yes, YOU — can actually bring magic and miracles into your life?

You can.

And I’m here to show you how.

So let’s get going!

The Basic Principle

First, everything physical is consciousness manifest.

We can think of it as a continuum with the field of pure potential at one end, and the time/space of physical manifestation at the other.

You can work effectively using that continuum:

consciousness -> energy -> manifestation

A small change at the subtle levels of consciousness and/or energy can create profound shifts in our lives.

(If you’ve ever read my “About” page, you’ll recognize those statements.)

Consciousness Technologies

The most powerful way to make these changes deliberately is so new and cutting-edge that it doesn’t even have a well-known name yet, but it’s slowly becoming known as Consciousness Technology.

Consciousness Technologies are frameworks or concepts that give us the ability to deliberately work (or play) at the most subtle levels of consciousness to effect positive changes for ourselves or others.

Some include techniques that can be helpful, but keep in mind that techniques are not required.

The Field

The main element of a Consciousness Technology is — you guessed it — consciousness.

Of course, consciousness is everywhere all the time, but the aspect of it we are concerned with is being in a particular state of consciousness.

You can also think about this as accessing a field of consciousness, or what we’ll call “the field”.

Ultimately, Consciousness Technology is all about that field and your interacting with it. Engaging and even playing with it.

The biggest trick of it and the most critical element — maybe even the only element — is that you be in that state.

Because from there is where you facilitate change.

From Subtle to Solid

Now, that all sounds very ethereal but it’s amazingly practical.

I may be an intuitive but I’m an engineer at heart and wouldn’t even mess with it if I couldn’t apply it.

It can prompt changes at any level (physical, mental, emotional, spiritual); in your past, present, or future; in other peoples’ lives; or just about anything else you can think of. No kidding.

I’ve used it to find lost jewelry (my most amazing story of all — you’ll hear it some day), to fix a DVD player, to heal my shoulder, to get my dog(s) through physical challenges (one issue miraculously disappeared overnight), etc.

There’s really no end to it and I use it all the time.

Beneficial Side-Effects

I also find that because it’s so much about accessing certain states of consciousness, playing regularly with Consciousness Technology actually raises your consciousness as a side effect. Nice! And this can only help the world at large, as a side-effect of the side-effect. 😉

It also prompts new and expansive views of what life and reality is all about. This aspect of it is pretty damn wonderful — and in way too many ways to go into right now. Let’s just say it’s invigorating and freeing and can rock your world from the inside out. 😀

Multiple Systems

There are a few different types of Consciousness Technologies out there.

Over time I’ll introduce you to all the various forms I’ve found and played with.

The ones I use the most are Matrix Energetics (which I trained extensively in) and Holographic Emergence™, which I’ve since developed (or which has been “emerging” through me).

Holographic Emergence™ incorporates ideas from several of the Consciousness Technologies and come to think of it, from everything I’ve learned and know about consciousness and all of life. As a result, it continues to evolve and improve, which is kind of exciting!

Coming Soon: How to Access The Field

In an upcoming post, you’ll learn the most essential skill you’ll need to begin to do a form of Consciousness Technology yourself almost immediately: accessing “the field”.
Update: Here it is! What “The Field” Is – and Why You Care

If you want to make sure not to miss upcoming posts, you can always subscribe to posts here. (It’s free and you can choose to get them via email or RSS feed).

So, did I give you a decent idea of what a Consciousness Technology is? Or do you have more questions now than you started with? I’d love to hear in the comments.

Thank you, and namasté.

If you read my last post you know that I’m here to tell you all about a cutting-edge practice and  how you can apply it to create magic and miracles in your life.

But there’s so much to tell you that this morning I just didn’t know what to write about first.

So I took advantage of my training in this area and asked myself a powerful question.

It’s a question that’s powerful not just because it helps prompt new ideas (which it does, and is valuable in itself), but because in asking it you step into a slightly altered reality.

I asked myself:

What if … ?

What if I did know what to write about today?

The Power of “What if …”

The “What if …” question opens something that was previously closed.

It stretches something that previously was limited.

Man’s mind, once stretched by a new idea, never regains its original dimensions.
~ Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr.

Good questions don’t just stretch your mind, but the fabric of your reality. ~ Click to Tweet

It’s now an expanded reality with new probabilities.

This can play out in a few different ways.

The Creative Power of Imagination

The moment I asked myself the question, I automatically was imagining myself experiencing that new possibility.

And imagining it took me one step closer to it being a reality.

And then I forgot about it for awhile. 🙂

But as I relaxed in the jacuzzi, ideas started popping in faster than I could even keep track of. By the time I got into the house, so many ideas came flooding in that after about 1/2 hour of frantic note taking, I had to just STOP. And choose.

It had a life of its own and took no further effort on my part; in fact, I wouldn’t have been able to stop it if I tried.

It’s like the idea that if I mention a pink monkey, can you not imagine a pink monkey? No!

So over the next half hour or so, it became reality.

I do know what to write about today!

You Often Get More Than You Expect

Not only did I get an answer to my question, but I got way more. And sometimes the effects can be far reaching.

  • I became enthused. Excited. Alive!
  • I got inspiration and ideas for about 5 more posts.
  • I made some fun discoveries while researching them.
  • I got ideas about how to best present the larger subject in future posts.
  • I’ve enjoyed my day immensely.
  • My upbeat energy was infectious to those in my life today.
  • If you take my suggestions, you’ll benefit too!

Asking Allows for Guidance

As I was outlining this post, I jotted down a few more “What if …” questions that I could apply in my life.

I asked:

What if my back was is perfectly healthy?

I happened to notice later that without even thinking about that question, I was preparing to try a different sitting position and location for writing today.

I had to pause and wonder if that idea came to me because I had fleetingly noted an open-ended question about my back being healthy. Maybe it was a suggestion from the part of me that knows better than my conscious mind what’s good for my back.

I think so.

This kind of thing happens a lot.

Instant Transformation Is Possible

Sometimes when you ask this question, no answers come to you, or at least not in a conscious way.

And that’s okay. The purpose isn’t to get answers, although it can be nice when you do.

The purpose is fulfilled simply by your asking the question. ~ Click to Tweet

During Holographic Emergence™ sessions, I’ve sometimes seen powerful, open-ended questions create an instant change in a condition or situation. I’ve experienced that myself, too.

Or they can create a noticeable shift in your perception of a situation, sometimes immediately and sometimes over time. (You’ll get some specific examples as we go deeper in future posts. You’ll also get some of the science behind it.)

What if you ask a question today that activates transformation in your life? ~ Click to Tweet

What if you knew what question that would be?

Your Turn to Ask “What if …”

What if you experiment with the “What if …” question?

If you open to the possibilities of even one thing, and even just a little, it’s a great start.

It can be like opening the floodgates.

You open your mind and step into a slightly different reality than before you asked the question.

5 suggestions for great results:

1. Ask something “positive”. It’s best to frame it as something you’d like, e.g. don’t ask “What if I fail (again)?” but rather “What if I’m outlandishly successful?”

• What if I’m already enlightened?
• What if I made a ton of money?

2. Ask followup questions if you’re inspired to. Use open-ended questions (i.e. not yes/no or with a specific answer.)

• What if I’m about to experience a wonderful change? How would that look?
• What if it’s something significant? What might it be?

3. Let your imagination go WiLd!

• What if everything I think I know is wrong?
• What if I can be instantly happy?
• What if my deceased pet isn’t really dead?

4. The sillier your questions, the better. Those can be the most powerful of all.

Do not quench your inspiration and your imagination; do not become the slave of your model. ~ Vincent van Gogh

• What if the question asked me?
• What if I lived like life was all questions and no answers?
• What if I could pop into my ideal reality instantly?
• What if this is my ideal reality?
• What’s the silliest question I could ask right now?

5. Watch what happens. Something will.

Notice what’s different. Something will be.

This is an important point because without it, the new reality can easily pass you by, leaving you exactly where you started.

• What if I don’t tell you what might happen?
• What if you get to discover it on your own?
• What if it’s pretty spectacular?

The more you notice and welcome the change, the more easily it will manifest. ~ Click to Tweet

Observable Results

So this morning I used just one “What if …” question, and was presented with some great gifts and a pretty good topic, don’t you think?

And OMG, I just realized: My back feels better right now than it has in weeks! This, even though I sat and wrote all day and I never made it to that new location and position. (Good thing I was handing out advice about making sure you notice what’s different or I might have missed it. ;-)) I truly cannot explain why this is except that I asked “What if …?”

Still … The question sounds so simple and ordinary that you might not believe it has the power it does.

So why don’t you see for yourself?

  • What if you do this exercise?
  • What if you hit on some powerful questions? What might they be?
  • What if you get some unmistakable results?
  • What if you come back and share them with us?
  • Or … what if you shared some “What if …” questions here?

(And I’m asking these questions of me as much as I am of you, i.e. what if my readers …)

I’m ready to see what happens, are you?

Want to expand your world? Your mind?

Ready to experience life like you’ve never even imagined it?

This is the place. And this is the time.

I’m about to blow your socks off, and you’ll love the freedom of living without them!

And though your feet will be firmly on the ground, your mind will open and expand.

A Tighter Focus

Yet I have to contract so you can expand.

So we can all expand!

If you’ve been following this blog, you know that I write about quite a lot of things, most of them related to energy and consciousness, and mainly because that’s what my interests are, and consequently what my services offer too.

From now on, this blog is going to be more focused – on just one of my interests – gasp!

I’ve been resisting having to choose, but it’s been trying to happen for a long time. Then a wise blogger friend pointed out to me recently (thanks, Angela ♥) that as a reader you probably want to know what the hell my topic is from day to day, right? Like, pick one already!

And so I have. It was a no-brainer. It’s the one that turns me on the most, and which is working its way into all of my services anyway (funny how that happens).

The Field of All Possibilities

Ok, so the field of all possibilities probably doesn’t sound like I’m paring down, does it? LOL! But I am, I promise. 😉

I’m going to limit myself to writing about what happens in one of my Holographic Emergence™ sessions — and how you can do it too! (Holographic Emergence found its beginnings in my Matrix Energetics training.)

You will learn:

  • Just what a “Consciousness Technology” is
  • How and why it’s so cutting edge
  • What makes it a whole new paradigm
  • How it’s integrated with the zero point field (ZPF)
  • How it relates to words like quantum, holograph, and fractal
  • What it has to do with presence, awareness, and being
  • How it transforms, shifts — and rocks 😉
  • Why it’s not about doing, adding, or fixing
  • Why it’s not even about healing as it’s traditionally thought of

But most importantly, you’ll learn:

  • How to apply it to manifest in a whole new way
  • How to watch your world transform before your very eyes

You’ll transform your life, inside and out, and no areas are off-limits. ~ Click to Tweet

And it’s easy!

But the best news of all, is that:

  • Nothing new has to be added to your to-do list!
  • It’s really just an expanded way of being. You’ll see!

It’s about BEing, not doing. ~ Click to Tweet

So BE Lightspirited with me! ~ Click to Tweet

Let’s Get Started!

So you’re going to see my entire blog transform … slowly but surely … to reflect these changes. (And because that’s what naturally happens in a hologram.)

Of course, I’m still offering all of my services (Holographic Emergence, Vedic Astrology or Jyotish, Intuitive Channeling, and Animal Communication) because I love doing them and because you find value in them.

But my blog topic? Contracted … so we can expand.

Are you ready?

What to Do Next

First, make a decision to come back and share in the adventure!

And then, I would very much appreciate it if you would help me spread the word!

  • Tweet one or several of the tweetable quotes above
  • Or heck, tweet this post! (Use the button)
  • Like or share this on Facebook or Google+ (Use the button)

Mar 212012

This Friday I’m holding my first group Holographic Emergence Session, in the form of a Spring Activation teleconference.

And boy, do I keep wanting to control it!

I’m so trained. We all are. Trained to take charge, “make” it happen, be responsible. I want so badly for it to be beneficial for all the attendees that I keep feeling like I have to force it somehow. No unknowns. Not even “happy accidents”. I notice myself starting to worry that I need to be better prepared. That it ought to be structured.

But this new (cutting edge, truly) way of operating challenges all those old habits.

And it can be downright unnerving.

Trust vs. Control

The power of consciousness technology (such as Matrix Energetics, on which my Holographic Emergence sessions are based) is that you don’t need to “do” anything.

In fact, doing can be counterproductive.

In order to achieve success, first give up the idea that you are “the Doer.” Instead of constantly doing from the mere human or conscious level, become the “Open Door.”

– Dr. Richard Bartlett (founder of Matrix Energetics), The Physics of Miracles

Rather than “do” something, the main (and maybe only) skill involved is being able to access the state in which “it is done”. And even in this paradoxical statement, the word “done” is more an adjective than a verb.

The other main skill for some of us (as already mentioned) is to let go of being a control freak! Aach! Pant pant pant.

So how do I manage to step into this new way of operating? Or rather, NOT operating? This state of being, and allowing?

♦ I can only remind myself that a lot of people for whom I’ve done individual Holographic Emergence Sessions where I’ve let go of control have noticed positive results.

♦ I also remind myself that when this idea came to me just a few weeks ago, it already had a life of its own.

I was compelled and propelled to just do it.

It was kind of odd, actually.

It was as though I knew the doubts existed but I wasn’t able or inclined to even look at them. I often think it’s smart to examine doubts to see if they’re valid, but almost always I decide that they are — and then they are crippling.

And so, this time, I simply allowed myself to be moved.

Can it be that there is something, some force, some something (I know not what) that actually knows better than me?

Well, let’s hope so.

Choosing Trust

So, I’m letting this be a lesson to me to live as that door instead of just be that door when I do Holographic Emergence Sessions (or LOL when I absolutely have to let go and surrender because I have no other choice).

That means I won’t just be the door during the Activation session, but am also being a door that opens for this and possibly future Activation sessions to enter my life as they will.

The trust required to be an open door also opens you to receive inner guidance easily. I’m noticing that certain inspirations are appearing to me about the sessions. Things that may or may not be a part of it. That’s all fine and is a part of the process. It’s “showing up” on its own — through the open door.

I’m choosing it this time. To not do. To trust.

Because I’ve learned that that’s how magic happens.

Want to join us for the Spring Activation? There’s still time! You can find the registration link here. (And it’s free!)

And a big thanks to those of you who’ve already registered. We’ve already got a group of wonderful people; I’m so excited!

How about you? How do you know if it’s time to DO or time to be a DOOR … or don’t you? Have you seen the door lead to magical results? Would love to hear your thoughts.
